For some reason I interpreted that as around Oct. 21... I was probably just being conservative.
 
I got a secondary to UCI, im IS with cGPA of 3.76, sGPA 3.65, AO GPA 3.95 (all calculated by amcas) but my MCAT is only a 26 😛 idk if i should continue or not...thoughts? verified oct 10 secondary sent oct 15

They screen before handing out a secondary, so they obviously saw something they liked in your application despite the low MCAT. I'd say go for it.

Have UCI been sending out post-secondary rejections lately? It's been soooo quiet here.

I know they've sent out a few post secondary rejections earlier in the summer, but I'm not too sure about anything recent.

Accepted to UC Irvine!

Interviewed 9/11/13, out-of-state.

I've been complete and "Under Review" since 7/13. I was hoping this was good news since UCI doesn't do silent rejections. But if UCI just hasn't been rejecting anyone lately, then I'm a little worried 😕.

Placed on alternate list 10/21/13. Really bummed because this is actually like my top choice in california. I did not feel chemistry with my student interviewer, and I think that may be what got me. That was out of my hands though. Hope I get off :/ Does anyone know I can do in this case? I think it might be too early to like write a letter of intent or something.
 
Questions for the others accepted here. The Statement of Intent to register seems kind of binding. Signing our names does not ultimately mean we will attend here right?

Someone asked about this when I interviewed there. The answer was that you should wait until the spring and then send them a letter of intent. Because acceptance info is made available to all med schools, UCI will check to see if you've been accepted anywhere else. If you have, then they will take your letter of intent seriously because it shows that you actually want to go to UCI (and you're not just sending the letter to get in somewhere), and they are more likely to let you in off the waitlist.

So I submitted my SIR today. on their website, it says the SIR is not binding and you can withdraw by May 15th as per the AAMC regulations! Private message me bro, let's talk about UCI!
 
Caveman: the Statement of Intent is non-binding. Just holds a spot for you.

Do they call you to tell you you're on the wait list or did you find via e-mail or online status check? I'm getting nervous. I think the adcom is meeting about those from my interview date today!
 
Does anyone know when the 9/23 interviewers should be getting the call?
 
Does anyone know if/when we hear back about any kind of merit aid? Does it occur after financial aid?
 
I am waiting for calls for the 10/9 interview date! I think they discussed our group yesterday...should I expect a call only for an acceptance? And an email for wait list? I'm so nervous about this school! I'd love to get in here 🙂
 
I also interviewed 9/23. I vaguely remember hearing third week of October but do not think any exact dates were given.
 
Today?!?! The other interview group heard back last Sunday.
 
Alternate list. No email, had to check my status page to see the decision. Interviewed 9/23
 
I got put on the alternate list. Oh well...
 
Does anyone know if UCI is receptive to pre-interview updates? Been complete since 08/02 and haven't heard a word. I have a few new things to share - grades, research, and one new EC - but I don't want to come across as presumptuous (considering I haven't received an II).

Yes, UCI does accept pre-interview updates. I called them about that last week. They told me to send the update via email.

Also, I know how you guys feel. I've been under review since 7/15.
 
Kekeke, I think I forgot to post on this, but after being under review for +2 months, UCI finally rejected me. Good luck to everyone else, potential anteaters 😀

They sent an official email Sunday night around 7pm. They seem to have quite a bit of activity over the weekends 😛

It's okay thoughhh, if I wasn't considered for the PRIME-LC program, I probably wouldn't have even considered the school even if I was given a chance to interview, so I'm not tragically heartbroken over it :happy::happy:😀
