Congratulations!Last Tuesday.

Hey 🙂 Are you going to call? :/
Got acceptance email this morning. Really happy right now!
Congrats!!!
Called Brian! No response, left a message. I will keep you all posted!
Well the day's not over and there's only been one reported waitlist and one reported acceptance. Even though they told all of us on my interview day that we'd hear back by today, I'm betting they're lagging. Here's to optimism.Apparently he already left the office early today. Haven't received anything, the SOM admissions said to try calling him tomorrow. Maybe the emails are lagging? I'm trying not to think that since I didn't get an email I was rejected. Fingers crossed...

Cheers to you and optimism 🙂 I'll report back if/when I hear something.

Only a few people (6 or 7) on my actual interview date were at the free clinic tour, so I'm sure they dont take that into account - some people just can't make it!Interview invite earlier this week, secondary was complete first week of August. Whee!
For anyone who has interviewed already, how important is the free clinic tour the evening before? I would like to attend, but it would mean arriving an extra day early (and I have a limited number of vacation days I can cash out for interviews this cycle). Is attendance at the tour taken into consideration for admissions decisions?
Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks!

Congrats! How do they show interview invite on the status page? Does the "Hold for interview" entry change to "Interview invite" and a date?

I got an II on Wednesday. IS, LizzyM = 77. My interview is scheduled for next Thursday!!!
The email from Brian comes before anything changes on the status page. Once the status page updates (took like 15-30 minutes for me), there will be a few more rows added to the table that say MMI Schedule, Hosting Information, and Free Clinic Tour. Each will have a button to click to schedule.

Congrats! When were you complete? Since the earlier poster said the only available dates were in January but yours is next Thursday I'm assuming the days offered are different for IS and OOS?

Yup, chance is a part of this process. Trying to rationalize why things happen or don't happen will just drive you crazy. If you've done your best, there nothing to do but to sit back, relax, and wait.Rejected last week pre-secondary OOS. Interviewed last year in September and was wait listed all year. Substantially increased my clinical experience, got a publication, and have 4 more that are likely to be accepted. Go figure. This process makes no sense.
Yes, they will send you an email. A link to the secondary (a button, actually) will also show up on the status page on their web site.Hey guys, just wondering if UCSD sends you an email informing you whether you are selected or rejected for a secondary. I applied a while ago and am afraid that my junk mail may have been eating messages. Should I send their admissions an email regarding status or is that a no no?
Thanks,
Nen
Awesome, but will they also contact you to say if you did not make the cut?Yes, they will send you an email. A link to the secondary (a button, actually) will also show up on the status page on their web site.
has anyone heard of people getting merit scholarships from UCSD? do they usually offer them with the acceptance letter?
PMed you about merit scholarships. Feel free to ask about other questions.
Below is a link of the merit scholarships offered by UCSD SOM:

Would you mind PMing me the same information? I have the same question.
Yes you will get an email about an interview or rejection, not sure if you get one for a hold though.
I was reading on their website and they say people not offered a secondary initially and not rejected are re-evaluated in January by the committee. Would this seem to indicate that those offered secondaries would most likely be given interview invitations before January?
Going to go neurotically read through the 2012-2013 thread.
Based on last years thread and factoring the delay with AMCAS I think we could expect activity in the next two weeks. Nervous because I don't like my chances, but hopeful!![]()
well it looks like some II's and I might be wrong and I don't want to cause more nervousness, but a whole slew of holds and rejections.Activity as in acceptances or interviews? Or rejections!?

a whole slew of holds and rejections.
just called admissions asking about interviews and she told me that they have filled spots up to January 9, and there is still more to go so i guess we just got to hang in there.
AHHH , no, thats not what I meant. I simply called them and they told me I was on hold. HOWEVER, he also mentioned that there is no rejection, just holds for now , however, evryone has a priority score and my priority score would not receive an interview. If you haven't heard back yet you could possibly be on hold with a decent priority score or still in the running, good luck
no i didn't ask about my status specifically I wasn't aware they would tell you that to be honest.Did you try asking the status of your application? A while back, someone on SDN reported asking about the status of his application and the likelihood of you receiving an interview. He was told that his priority score is not high enough and will not likely get an interview invite.
if you can get brian on the phone, he willno i didn't ask about my status specifically I wasn't aware they would tell you that to be honest.
