If we're waitlisted can we send an update letter?

so uh... what does it mean if you haven't been rejected nor waitlisted? lol

Nope. In the FAQ section of CU's website it says they do not accept any updates or LOIs. Unfortunately >.<

Has anyone tried to send an update? I'm not trying to be annoying, but I just feel a lot has changed since when I interviewed last November...

I would recommend calling the admissions office and checking to see if they would be receptive to an update. It's worth a shot to ask, however, I think it has been pretty clear that they are not per what was said at interviews and what is listed on the FAQ page online.

What number do you call? I've never been able to get past answer machines. Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately I don't have a better phone number, and a lot of people have run into this issue. I found that sending an email is slightly more effective than phone calls, but n=1.

The two week time limit is the amount of time they give us to sign the Colorado residency form and the CU contract. Does the signing of the contract preclude us from considering any other schools for which we are still wait listed?

Is there anyone who lives/knows the Aurora/Denver area who can give me the low down on housing? I'd like to purchase, if possible, and I'd like the scoop on the party areas vs the areas I might get shot. I'm thinking of staying in Aurora because the commute will shorter and the prices will be cheaper. Thoughts on this? Anyone know any good realtors in the area?

I don't think so, when I got accepted in April I had to sign them too. It's just to show that you accept the acceptance so they can hold your seat in the class. I'm still holding other wait list positions as well. Congrats on getting in to CU!!

Has anyone here been on the CU waitlist before? I think hearing that I am High Alternate gave me more hope than it should have. Seeing that only 2 people on this site have been accepted since May 15th is a bit of a reality check. I had the expectation that after May 15th there would be a large burst of acceptances, but that is not what I am seeing.

I was accepted June 25 of last year. They will accept students as late as a week or so before matriculation.

Does anyone know if they've accepted the full class yet? The Facebook group only has 118 members and there has not been a big wave of acceptances like previous years. It still seems like they have a lot of spots but who knows

Those of you who were accepted off the wait list, did your status in the portal also change right away?

Thanks! I wonder what the time limit is for decision making if we get accepted off other wait lists? It is past the deadline for being allowed to hold multiple acceptances, so I imagine we would have to make a decision right away.

I still haven't been approved to join the group so the 118 number is less than the actual number.

It took a few days.

118 could be pretty inaccurate. consider the students accepted who didnt join the group and the students who withdrew their acceptance and haven't left the group. im willing to bet the class is at least 80-90% full at this point and ~20 more students will be admitted.

Well thats some negative news ....

Not here. Still waitlisted, hoping and waiting for an email/call : )

There's a link to a MS1 handbook in the accepted student's site. It lists the common neighborhoods students stay at and the reasons (family friendly, good night life, etc).

has anyone heard anything about the Colorado spring branch?

Has anybody talked to the admissions about how full their class currently is or when the majority of the acceptances from the waitlist will go out? I understand that some acceptances have been granted but I am not sure if that was the big wave or just a few extremely strong applicants. I tried calling but haven't been able to get a hold of them

Hey yall, I've got a few questions for accepted students.
For financial aid consideration, do I just need to fill out the FAFSA? No other steps?
Yeah that's all you need, although they take some times to get to you tho

Did anyone else on the waitlists get an email about their pre requesit status? Trying to figure out if it means anything or if everyone got it

Shoot, I did as well. I was ridiculously excited for a moment... Perhaps unnecessarily so. My status still just says high-alternate list on their site.

Did anyone else sitting on the waitlist just get an e-mail about a pre-requisite status? I'm very confused. Tried calling the office with no luck.

Looks like there is something going on.... or we just got trolled.....

Maybe this email is their sneaky way of determining who on the waitlist is still interested haha.

It went to my spam folder along with my free viagra.
I'm guessing you don't have to respond if you have "no deficiency" though I secretly want a chance to show them I'm still interested :p

Just heard back from the admissions office. This e-mail was to prepare high-alternate candidates for any problems with their application on the off chance that they are accepted to the class of 2018. I wouldn't hold your breath chaps..... It's looking grim out there.

well thats depressing news

Sorry mvtrinh. I figure straight forward honesty is better than pulling the wool over anyone's eyes.

Just an all around frustrating admissions process. Why bother posting pre-requisite notices? All it did was excite and then depress me. Well done... I hope they're happy.

got nothing to apologize about homie.

It's kinda a slap in the face isn't it.. Someone was instructed to go through every single High Alternate's AMCAS to check their coursework instead of just doing it for the few that'd get an acceptance. And then email us about it. It's like they want us to know they're actively working to elevate our blood pressure!
