So they said we can receive news a week after our interview. This isn't very common right?

We were quoted for earliest being 2-3 weeks, but most folks hearing much later than that (and no later than March). If anyone was accepted in <2 weeks, they must've been one of the all-star applicants (or amazing IS applicant) :vomit:
 
Is there any hope for me? IS complete early December with 3.65 and a 34 MCAT...

There's def still OOS slots available, but you can invest in more hope if you're IS for here since I feel like they've already over (or close to) half of the OOS folks (most of the OOS ppl I met had some remarkable stories or were considered URM at the school), heh

Are you saying they go through the OOS students first? I understand the adcom is probably on break right now, do you think I'll hear back in January? The suspense is killing me...

No, not necessarily. They just interview so few OOS folks relative to IS since it's their only state school. Like out of 800 IS, half get IIs, and out of 4000 OOS applicants, they interview somewhere around 200 of them. On my interview day, I talked to around 10-15 OOS applicants in a group of 40-50. I don't know if there's an average wait time for folks between completion and response time, since I haven't seen many pre-interview holds or rejections reported.

Anyway, based on that observation, my assumption is that they had already interviewed at least 20 others from the previous few interview days before mine. That was 2 months ago, so given that "rate," it leads me to believe they have already interviewed a hypothetical number of 100+ OOS applicants since then. Anecdotal and unconfirmed banter, of course. I am known to slightly exaggerate among my friends... :laugh:

Yeah I know what you mean. I guess I'm just curious about the profiles of those students who are IS and already accepted. I know I applied really late, but I'm FAP and URM so I hope that I still have a shot... It would be such a dream to go to this school

We're very similar stats and I interviewed one of the first days, and I haven't heard anything. I'm not URM though.

I'm surprised you got a hold of someone... I've called probably 5 or 6 times over the past two weeks and no one has ever answered. I'm sure they're incredibly busy, and likewise I don't want to be a pain, but some sort of confirmation would be nice... especially since they were so explicit that it had to be submitted within a certain time frame. I'm just trying not to worry about it at this point...

You're in state though? Also, I have a mediocre (7) verbal, and I'm wondering if that'll hurt me...

Yeah haha a 14 and a 13... Hopefully those two cast a large shadow... I love this school and my life would be complete with an admission offer...

I left a voicemail and sent in an email to confirm but have not gotten a response either. Sounds like we are all in the same boat, which hopefully means all is okay 🙂

Did you receive any other IIs? Your stats are great for any school! I had a 7 in verbal and received an II from Colorado!

Haha, thanks for the encouragement bud I really appreciate it. I haven't had any ii's because my secondaries have all been submitted late Nov to Dec. I'm applying to MD with FAP and a few DO schools...

Sorry it took me so long to reply! No I haven't received any other IIs. I am kind of nervous, but I am hoping that after the holidays I will get some. Hopefully in January...
 
Oh, and Merry Christmas everyone. How about the weather today? Almost 50's?
 
Just sent out a email today hoping for an update of some kind. I'm accepted to a DO school that I'm happy with already, so I'm not too neurotic about it, but some sort of info would be really nice. Complete Oct. 18 with lowish-end stats for MD, but I do have some pretty solid EC's, etc.

So back I'm late sept. when I was just complete (but it was not updated on the site abt receiving my fap waiver), I emailed the admissions office asking if my materials were properly received. They sent a response TODAY :laugh:

It's extra silly bc I interviewed in october 😛

I had asked a question on OOS tuition early October and I got my response yesterday. There has got to be some story behind this :eyebrow:.

Nope. Essentially: Your application is complete, good luck with waiting! Not that I was expecting much, but not in love with the admissions department here so far. Plus, the fact that I could be 20 minutes away for $40,000 less per year is not helping with the love either I suppose.

Yes it is. I understand that much of the SDN community isn't exactly thrilled with the school, but I was incredibly impressed both during my visit and by their board scores (both COMLEX and USMLE) and by their residency match stats.

Ya students I have talked to there really like it... So if it's a good fit for you then that's awesome! I grew up just down the street from RVUCOM so it's a possibity too
 
The website says they interview into early feb. Does this mean there aren't a lot of interviews left? Not sure how much hope I should have for cu :/

I interviewed on 12/20 and got the call on Christmas Eve (12/24) then got the email acceptance on 12/27. Still awaiting the hard copy. If anyone has any questions about the process let me know!

Hi colococo, does the admissions office assign denver/colorado springs campus when they admit you?

Hey, my email just says that I have been accepted to the MD program. It does not specify which campus though. I personally did not apply for the colorado springs branch so maybe that is why. I'll let you know when I get the letter in the mail. The email says "Lastly, this serves as only an electronic copy of your acceptance letter. Your official acceptance letter has been placed in the mail today. " so maybe more information on the other one.

To everyone concerned with sending in the residency forms on time I called last Thursday (two weeks after my acceptance) and spoke with admissions. Apparently the woman had just seen them in the mail delivered that day despite USPS saying it was delivered earlier. If you still are unsure try and call for confirmation.

To echo this sentiment I was super worried about my contract and residency forms getting in on time too but they called me sometime last week and said they received it even though my two weeks was like the second week of December.
 
As long as its post marked before the two weeks expire you should be good. Dont worry.

Hey bananas,

Got the official letter and no designation on which branch. Maybe they designate after unconditional acceptance. Either way, I only applied for main branch.
 
Can anyone comment on how late CU interviews, and/or if they will be sending invites out for the next few months?
