April 11–12th for MD; April 11–13th for MD/PhD—"watch your email for additional information." That's all regarding Second Look.

rfenzo, note that I edited my post. This form came in the mail for me around the middle of December, but I believe Rochester sent it only after I mailed in the deposit. I can forward you the form if you'd like, just PM me with your email. 🙂

Thanks! I guess I'll sit tight until the "additional info" comes, then. That's a Friday and Saturday--do you think they have two full days of stuff planned for us? Or do you think it's just Friday night + all of Saturday?

I was wondering the same thing since I want to buy flights early. But, I think they said information should be sent in February.
 
So: barring a possible long-shot waitlist response that *might* make me change my mind, I'll be at Rochester next year! I'm pretty excited and I'm interested in meeting future classmates, but I think the only Facebook group for URMC students is one that includes ALL current students. There's not some sort of URMC Class of 2018 group that I don't know about, is there?
 
Do we need anything for fin aid other than a submitted FAFSA? Wanted to double check
 
It looks like Rochester school of med/dent is on the list of schools that use NeedAccess, though I don't remember hearing about it during the interview day...

Yea, there is Rochester's financial aid application. You have to print it out an mail it.

I think NeedAccess is for people who want to be considered for university related money? Not sure.

Hi everyone, new to the thread here…this may have already been mentioned (and I apologize if it has been), but would any of you who recently got accepted mind telling me about how much time lapsed between your interview and acceptance notification? I interviewed here on Feb 10th and just want to have an idea how long they've been taking to send out a decision…they told us it would take approx. 6-8 weeks but I'm hoping it doesn't really take that long. Thanks in advance!

I interviewed on Jan. 24 and was accepted yesterday via phone call. Very ecstatic and fully intend on matriculating here, looking forward to meeting some of my future classmates as I know nobody from the Northeast.
 
Hey guys,
I know it is a ways away, but I am driving from Boston to Rochester on April 10th for the second look weekend (April 11-12). Happy to have someone else along for the 6 hour drive if they don't have a better way of getting up there.

Hmm I have actually read the opposite... on previous threads, a couple of people mentioned there was a lot of movement off the waitlist. I guess we'll never really know :-/
 
I'm not going to be able to make second look day. Do any current students know the best way to figure out living situations in that case?
 
Should we email in the documentation requested for fin aid?
 
I emailed and asked. They said to mail it in. Sigh.

Haha yeah. I keep thinking we're getting close to decision time, and then I realize that financial info will not be available at many schools until late April/early May
 
Husband accepted to MD/MBA program via email today

Thanks, I'm pretty sure that email is for the whole URMC school. Is there a specific 2018 group that is being made/has been made, or do things generally run through the whole-school group?
 
Waitlisted just now, interviewed early Feb. Oh well, knew that would likely happen interviewing so late into the cycle.

Sorry 🙁 WL can be frustrating--I definitely know. But waitlist here moves a lot or so we've heard. Don't give up!

Sent a message to the social media guy. There seems to be a 2017 group, no reason to not have a 2018 one

Nice! Yeah that would probably be a good idea, I saw that a lot of people got added to the whole school one, and I assume they are potential 2018 members.
 
is anyone from the NYC area who is going to second look interested in somehow going together? whether by train or car (i don't personally have one, but i'm a good driver!)

Has any who interviewed on Feb 6th or before not heard back from the school yet? I have been traveling and am just wondering if my junk folder ate an important email.
