So if the secondary shows they haven't received our rec letters does that mean they haven't downloaded them from amcas yet?

Did you get an interview? Because otherwise there is no secondary.

Yep, should have said the status page. It shows they haven't received my personal, science, or non-science evaluation. Do we have to do anything special for these or will they just download them?

Hmm...what was the email address you sent to?

[email protected] because that was the address on the website. Perhaps the one they send outgoing emails from is a general address and doesn't lead back to them. I might be making things up as well because I don't know much about computers or how email and everything works haha

Yeah that's the one I emailed. Huh, that's frustrating then, because I've sent them 2 emails in the past weeks and didn't get a reply for either. I sent an email to 8 other schools asking the same questions and got a response the next day.

Hmm that's very odd. Maybe try calling their office to see if they have received them? I don't know. I wouldn't want to annoy them though.

It's all right, I got a reply from a different email.

By the way, how do recommendation letters work, do they need them before they invite you to interview? I'm in state, have a 3.9 GPA, and I'm still waiting for my MCAT score but my average on my practice exams was 38. Is there any way to convey to them that I'm in state and IU is by far my #1 choice?

I am not 100% sure how IU does letters of recommendation, but typically schools want them before they review your application and decide whether or not to extend an interview. In general get them in asap. They are going to know that you are in state, and if you score well on your MCAT you will have no problems securing an interview where you can convey how interested you are in the school. Just my two cents, but hope that helps!

Sorry to hear about the rejections. When did you receive the primary receipt notification?

I emailed them about it and they said that if we sent them via amcas then they will take 4-6 weeks to process them. Interestingly, I had a line pop up last week that said academic and legal documents received with a yellow exclamation mark next to it but now that is gone. So I have no idea what's going on but I guess we wait. I was getting nervous too.

Same here. Has anyone gotten their interview dates yet?

Rejected just now. Non-trad OOS.

cGPA: 3.36
sGPA: 3.59
Post-Bacc: 3.99 (all pre-reqs)
MCAT: 35

Rejected just now, OOS with no ties.
3.6/3.5, 4.0 masters and 31.
Got the "we have received you app" email on 7/15.
Pretty bummed since my older brother went here, but alas! I shall prevail.
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE ELSE!!

Sorry to hear about the rejections. I received my email on 7/16 so judgement day must be soon for me.

I got the receipt on 7/11. I wonder why I haven't heard anything...

Strange, I don't know the best way to approach the situation. You can't really be like "Soo... I saw on SDN that you guys were reviewing people past my date..."

At least no rejection is good news?

I agree. It means you are still in the running! Perhaps on a pile of potential OOS applicants they want to come back to before they make their final decision.

I'm hoping it is because they haven't sent out interviews recently so they are waiting to do that 😉

In state or out of state?
I might as well share all my stats in case anyone else is curious. OOS, cgpa ~3.7, sgpa ~3.5, >35 mcat. I called them about the rejection and they said that the only reason was that my gpa was too low.

Your stats are pretty great. Good luck!

II this morning, 3.83, 38, OOS. This is the first real news I've heard from anywhere except for post screen secondaries at UC schools and pure rejection from Pritzker MSTP. It may be good to note I was rejected from MSTP here a couple weeks ago.

Pritzker seems very rejection happy from what I've heard.

Honestly, every school is. Pritzker just gives the courtesy of not making people wait forever to find out.

This. I wish more schools did this. I would rather know so I can move on and not continually check my status haha

I was getting down about my lack of news at schools. I was concerned. And then I woke up to a pretty little II invitation from IU. 😀
sorry if i missed your post elsewhere, but do you mind sharing your stats? are you IS/have ties to the state?

cGPA>3.9 MCAT>32. OOS. Absolutely no ties. Never been to Indiana before. I'm from a state that isn't officially in the Midwest but is sometimes classified as such.

haha nice. good luck and thanks for sharing!

I got my rejection 6 days ago. I called and asked and they said that after "holistic" review they found that my science GPA and MCAT were below there average. I am OOS applicant. I was just kinda shocked because my science GPA and MCAT were only marginally below their averages and well within their ranges of accepted students.... Good luck to all those applying. Hopefully you all have above average stats to even be interviewed? I guess leniency on stats only goes to IS applicants
Just received a rejection from IU. And my committee letter hasn't even been received by AMCAS yet (which doesn't seem right to me, that they'd be reviewing without your LORs). I'm OOS and my numbers are somewhat average (c3.68/31). So, to everyone - beware. They're reviewing applications as we speak even without your LORs.

Sorry to hear that. When were you complete? That's interesting though because I've heard of applicants with below average stats being accepted here OOS. I guess they must be outliers or something.

It looks like things are different this year. I have above avg gpa and my science is on the 90th percentile but only a 31 MCAT so that will more than likely mean rejection.
