When you say 'II' does that mean you got an interview? Still trying to understand some of the lingo on here, ha!

II! Very excited! Submitted secondary 6/12. 3.9/33
Hey

Hey
Haha. Yeah SDN takes some time to get used to. II=Interview Invite

Thanks! I'll finish this secondary this weekend. But I am not sure why they don't have my Mcat scores or primary app ?!

I'm not sure why that would be. Maybe you could give them a call? Maybe ask around here for some more advice? I'm honestly not sure what the best course of action would be. I'm sorry 🙁

They probably have it.. it's just not updated on the page it. Mine didn't update for about a month.

I'm sorry if this seems oblivious, but can we just submit the secondary application without any notification that the school has received our application?

Yes. I never received any email (except a receipt of my secondary fee) from A&M until II

Do you know how long it took for your payment to show up on the site? It has been a week for me

So my app has been pending for a week now, even after LOR were on TMDSAS. Anyone else having this issue?

For those who received IIs, did any of you receive an email saying that your secondary has been received?

I didn't receive confirmation, only a receipt of my fee from the "A&M Marketplace."

Congratulations to everyone who has been invited for an interview so far, there are plenty more to come. Also no need to worry too much about the BAMF status, I feel as though there is a lot of magic and haruspicy behind interpreting these status changes.

Still no movement on II's from A&M lately? I really need to get off of this site.

For those who did #19, how did you focus on one or all of the qualities mentioned in the honor code? I'm a little overwhelmed by the question haha

On the BAMF website, my Primary Application, Secondary Application, and Secondary Fee are listed as "true" under the "complete?" section. Does this mean that they are processed and done? Or do they still need to be processed?

My MCAT scores section aren't listed as anything yet. I'm under the impression that the school won't look at anything until it has all 4 of the categories (Primary, Secondary, Fee, and MCAT score) completed. What does the "true" status really mean? Thank you.

I could be mistaken, but I think it only means that they have received your materials, but they haven't reviewed them yet. When they receive everything, your status will update to "under review".

II received. My status still says "Under Review", so there's no status change prior to an II. Transmitted first week of June and complete since then as well.

Hi, I'm an M1 (accepted last cycle). We just finished orientation week.

Some info that might be helpful:
  • Average matriculating GPA: 3.66
  • Average matriculating MCAT: 30.6
  • 92.5% instate
  • 44% females
  • Recently partnered with Memorial Hospital in Houston so you can do your clinical years in: B/CS, Round Rock, Dallas, Temple, & Houston now
  • Grading is H/P/F with Honors given to the top 15% of the class
  • Class of 2018 is the last year where the M1 class is split between Temple & B/CS. Next year everyone will be in B/CS

If you have any questions PM or post here.

Thanks for posting! I didn't not know that A&M was having our class all at CS for the first two years. Do you know the reason perhaps?

IIRC they are trying to incorporate Team Based Learning and it would be too difficult with a split campus
We had to watch this video:

TX Resident, 3.8 GPA, 32 mcat. Applied June. Any comments on my chances? No invites yet from TX schools

They are great, your a well above average applicant and they will surely come with time. You gotta remember on the boards it is all the nerds, myself included, that are on it. This tends to skew the perspective when you see MCAT 41 GPA 4.0 and started five hospitals in Africa! The applicant pool is only so deep and you will get in somewhere if you can hold your own in an interview.

My pre-med advisor said it's really common for ppl to go without any interviews then BAMM they all come at once in October or so! I know the waiting is hard! Your app is constantly under review. Hold in there 🙂 your stats are really good!

8/28- No choices, just Yes or reject the interview all together. However, in the instructions it did state that one could call to reschedule but it is possible they may not be able to get them an interview until November. Luckily I can make Aug 28th work so I did not have to deal with that.

Thanks for the kind words...Just anxious. Want to stay in Texas. Can you tell which TX school I would be long shot?

I think Baylor could be considered a "reach" but still they accept ppl with your stats! Numbers wise you are really competitive 🙂 just don't give up hope!

Guys, I recently submitted my secondary. There is nothing next to primary, MCAT, or fee, only a true next to secondary. When is the MCAT and primary and fee supposed to be updated? I trasmitted 6/24

How many students are typically at an interview date and does it vary by campus?

Can any current students comment on the interview? I heard from one person that it's fairly intense, but that was several years ago and I'm wondering if anything has changed since then.

Thank you!

I'm in the exact same boat as you... maybe they update our primary/mcat after they received our secondary and go through it? Idk

It took a while for all my stuff to be updated. Took at least 10 days for my secondary fee to go through, and afterward my primary and mcat were listed as received. They seem to go very slow so I wouldn't worry about it

Does A&M have a "research/scholarly project" requirement? Could you please explain this? Thanks!

So I interviewed at all the Texas schools except the Tech's. I found that every school had pretty much the same interview process. 2 faculty will ask you the standard interview questions and then ask you some questions based on what you've said. Honestly I did not experience the grilling that some people on SDN were reporting. My interviewers at A&M were nice and seemed happy to be there considering I had one of the last interview dates.
Also A&M has student interviewers by M2's I believe.

Does A&M have a "research/scholarly project" requirement? Could you please explain this? Thanks!

I don't recall there being a research project, but I know that in a couple weeks there will be a poster presentation from the M2's who have done research over the summer. I think there is a program to do research in the summer between M1 & M2

Your stats are above average... if you really want to go here you should apply!! 7.5% OOS is scary though

Just wondering, did anyone leave the hardships essay blank since there is a similar one in the TMDSAS optional essays?
