2024-2025 Texas A & M

Have any pre-matched students received a scholarship email? I saw only one person on here mention that they got one. This person also got accepted on the same day as me, so I was just wondering if I maybe do not qualify for the scholarship or if there is still time for me to receive one.

Also if there is any current A&M students on here, are most scholarships (merit) offered after match day or how it works?

I got one, was accepted 12/10

I interviewed with A&M in September. Since then, I’ve done some research and started an application with the Navy for HPSP. My question is would this be good to include in an update letter to A&M? Military medicine is a large part of their mission that I now align with more.

Does anyone have any more insight into EnMed and how they're rolling out decisions (and why they're dragging their feet in doing so)? I remember them saying that they only do pre-match offers, so that gives them exactly 2 weeks to finish sending decisions out, but am I remembering wrong? Is there anyone that interviewed after September that has heard back?

I'm starting to spiral that they're saving all their rejections to give out at once LOL, but I feel like that's not true.

EnMed is considered a dual-degree program (like MD/JD or MD/PhD) and as such does not get included in the TMDSAS Match. This means they do not have to make their decisions by the TMDSAS Match timeline..

I know the way they worded it to you seemed awkward.
What will likely happen is some Texans who haven't heard from EnMed will get a TMDSAS Match school and grow fonder of it.

Unfortunately all you can do is wait, until they make some offers.

I remember them telling us in the interview that they want to have most of their admissions done by Jan. 31, but they would probably have their committee meeting sometime in January. Hang in there soldier, we got this! Plus, there’s a lot of dynamic movement because as the match date passes, they’ll have (presumably) more spots to fill. Anyway, all this to say that I don’t think they’ve had any acceptance updates since December, but maybe that will change soon.

Thank you both for the insight! I have no idea how TMDSAS Match works, especially since EnMed was my only interview and they do things differently. I'm in a very uncomfortable position with not knowing if I should retake the MCAT and start prepping for a reapplication. With that, what is the absolute latest that they can get back to us? The EnMed website had the following information on it, but now I'm concerned that January 31st might not be an accurate timeline at this stage.

Very technically speaking, it’s not over until you’ve officially been rejected, or until the first day of classes begin, whichever comes first. However, if it’s end of February and you still haven’t heard ANYTHING, I would begin to consider that your odds of getting in are pretty low. However, this is information based on previous years and info that I extrapolated from the interview process. I am a current applicant and am by no means an expert or knowledgeable per se. All you can do at this point is send a Letter of intent/interest and hope that is helps you.

Thank you for your responses and for explaining this to me! I really appreciate the time that you've taken to do so 🙂

Last year they sent out WL notices, rejections, & more acceptances towards the end of February

How much will a late interview hurt my chances here? I just interviewed last week and I worried with it being so late that there is not even a chance for me this cycle and if I am correct in that I am essentially interviewing for the waitlist. Does anyone know how heavy A&M is on pre-matching or their acceptance rate after the interview?

They were a little behind on their interviews this year so you are gonna be fine. They have not given many pre-matches yet

Anybody else interview last week? A&M hasn’t showed up on my TMDSAS rank list and wanted to see if anyone else was in the same boat.

email A&M directly and ask them to update their side of the portal so you can rank their school

Honestly I’d only email/ call starting tomorrow, the school was closed for the freeze. Usually if you call they give you an answer right away

true that, but if you email they might answer that email from home on a snow day.
We're down to the last 10 days before the rank deadline here so prompt messaging is important

I interviewed the second Monday of October and haven't heard back either. The people I interviewed with that I stayed in touch with haven't either. They started interviews in September, so there is no way they got the entire class from that first month.

that's so stupid that it does that. january twenty-first is when my friend got their interview
@waterglass try deleting your SDN app (or Tapatalk app) from your phone, update your phone, and re-install the app you use.
This should get rid of the weird quoting code strings

I hope they get back to us soon! I was under the impression that they started interviews in August? Also do we know how they review applications (like do they go in order of interview dates)? I interviewed at the end of September and it seems like (at least from what people reported) that everyone up until my interview date have heard back. Trying to hang in there and stay positive but the wait has been so mentally draining 😢

IS II received yesterday afternoon!

The only dates available are for the 28th and 30th just fyi. Unfortunately, due to travel logistics and current decided rankings, I have decided to withdraw from my slot. I hope this opens a door for another deserving applicant, good luck everyone!

was this an EnMed invitation? Because regular MD interviews are online.
I realize you have other acceptances so you can reasonably turn this one down for ones you prefer.

It was a regular MD interview. IN regards to traveling logistics I mean purely on my end. I'll be traveling with limited access to internet so instead of having a potentially botched interview, I think it should go to someones else.

I so lied. They do start in August. I am not sure how they review applications. I so understand though. I wish they would not have said they we could expect something back before the holidays because that got my hopes up so much.

ugh!! trying so hard to not severely spiral about EnMed, but it's all I can think about! a part of me wonders if they're increasing the class size as they become their own school and with the fact that they conducted more interviews this cycle (this is def wishful thinking on my end)? Hoping they come out with decisions sooner than later with match day quickly approaching and keeping my fingers crossed that it works out in our favor :xf:

Does anyone know when OOS applicants hear back? I interviewed mid September for MD and MD/PhD and have yet to hear anything at all.

Based on last year's thread, it seems most oos people found out after the Texas match or really late in the cycle, like April.

Dumb question : Are thank you notes for MMIs normal/will it have any bearing on process since they graded during the MMI?

They are not expected from what I remember in the interview info session. They didn't even expect you to introduce yourself or do greetings.

No bearing on the process. Interviewers submit their evaluations shortly after you get done talking so they won't see the note until after the day is done.

Do the interviewers have access to candidates file during the MMI ?
No, they are just attending to your answer to the MMI question.
Later when a committee reviews you after an interview they will see your whole file plus the interview day notations.

just saw on the enmed instagram that they had an admitted students day. is it safe to assume that it's probably an R at this point? Not to keep asking about enmed in here, but this whole process is truly sending me for a spin

One of my least favorite phrases “is it safe to assume”
Since EnMed also uses AMCAS app and has many OOS applicants, they are not technically bound by the TMDSAS timetable. I think they will have more news going out past our match day

perhaps I am coping but I wouldn’t say that…but I also did not see the post. I would be shocked if they filled all their spots already.

Edit: just saw the post. yea, they probably had to plan the event weeks or months in advance, so I doubt the class is filled based on a preview day!

I doubt weeks and months. Pre-matched regular MD just got the prematch celebration email invite about a week before the first date.
