current student here, each adjective corresponds to a quartile (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th). AOA and GHHS are separate from this.
Makes sense. The adjectives need translation for residencies and fellowships to decipher. In the end it is all about class rank.

Quartiles are based on both preclerkship and clerkship (at least they were for my class, I'm a graduating MS4). Yes you get to see your MSPE before the school submits it to your ERAS app. It's pretty similar to the AAMC template
They plug in ranking somehow, don't they. C'est la vie

Did you see any difference in how successful different campuses were at reaching high quartiles? Ik that BCS is the only campus with literal structural differences but I'm also wondering if the faculty/facilities/culture of the other campuses created any differences between them as well

Honestly not too sure about the specifics of this, but as far as I can tell it seems to be an even spread. I would prioritize location over other factors when picking campuses, there are very successful students in every campus.

I shoulda known. Being an Aggie is success in itself. By the time I'm done, this school gonna be T1. Watch out UCSF 😤

Quartiles are based on both pre-clerkship and clerkship (at least they were for my class, I'm a graduating MS4).
Pre-clerkship impacting rank in any way was removed starting CO2025. Correspondingly, all AOA eligibility now comes from clerkship performance and everyone is selected at the same time at end of M3.
Pre-clerkship moved to straight P/F starting CO2026.

have they sent you the welcome packet yet? there's a housing spreadsheet with suggested apartments on there! I think lakewalk is a popular choice!

Have they sent information about a Facebook group? Who would I email to be added if I haven't received it?

Looking to reapply here with a new MCAT score and better activities next cycle. I read on MSAR that at least one letter must be from a research mentor. Is this true? Or is this not a hard and fast guideline?

For TMDSAS you submit a minimum of 3 letters, maximum of 4 and all your letters go to all your schools.
If you are applying to Texas A&M EnMed program via AMCAS the rules may differ.

Jw why A&M of all TMDSAS schools?

And when I asked last year about a related Texas school-specific LOR requirement on MSAR, TMDSAS told me that all TMDSAS schools go by the same letter requirements - just 3 I believe and no requirements on what these have to be, just preferences

Hey @wysdoc

A&M released the prompts for the 2024-2025 cycle and the questions are the exact same as the 2023-2024 cycle.

Hello, I have a question regarding the otoscope and ophthalmoscope used in the Practice of Medicine course. Do you have any idea which one I should get? I appreciate your help.

The cheapest amazon one you can find lol. You'll never really need to use it other than 2-3 times. The CLRC has good quality ones for actual OSCEs.

Thank you so much for your reply! What's CLRC, and when do we take OSCE?

The CLRC is the Clinical Learning Resource Center, where all the clinic/hospital simulation rooms are and where OSCEs and related trainings are held.

OSCEs are essentially exams over clinical skills and patient interviewing. There will be several of them over the course of POM.
