:/ just got an email from Tucs. saying I wasn't extended an interview but am still under consideration and may receive one later. What are the chances of getting an interview invite later on? Is this the same as a rejection?

I got the same email; I think it's a hold. Supposedly, people have come off hold to get an II so there may be some hope.

Thanks. Based on the below two posts I think I'm gonna wait at least a month before thinking my chances are up there 🙂 Just happy not to get a rejection as a CA applicant.

So here's my life story: Completed Aug 3. Hold Sept. 17. II Today Oct 17 🙂. LizzyM 69.

II!!! 🙂 Complete early August, initially put on hold, and now I have a shot at being a wildcat 😀

Hold email over night.

12/13/14 Edit: Received II yesterday on 12/12/14

Congrats!
If I may ask, when were u put on hold? Before or after the previous poster at sept 17? Trying to gauge whether they're going in order of hold date when pulling applicants off the hold...or if it's random.

II yesterday. Put on hold back on August 15th.

Really hoping I get in here I love Tucson and want to stay. If anyone has an questions about the local area can PM or reply here. I am a pretty avid hiker so I have the trails down.

Mine: Complete Sept 10, Hold Oct 17. Maybe I can continue this trend and score an II mid Nov! Are you IS or OOS?

Hello, just dropping to share, specially for you guys still waiting for an II.

Submitted secondary: 8/25
On Hold: 10/3
Interview Invite: 10/17
OOS, California. Non-traditional. 25 years old.
MCAT 31. sGPA 3.7

The only interview slot date available for me is Nov 15.

You guys, its not over till its over! Keep your head up, and do not stress out waiting for an interview. We have submitted our apps so there is nothing else we can change on that part. What we can control, however, is our attitude moving forward. Make everyday count. Enjoy the present. Your breakthrough is coming.

Really nice of you to post this! Thanks and good luck on your interview!

Submitted secondary early September---still in hold pre-interview from 10/3..............lots of silence..hoping for interview invite.....OOS lizzyM67.

Everyone that doesn't get an interview at that particular review time gets put on hold, until the application is reviewed again. At which point, you can be invited for interview, or remain on hold.

For everyone freaking out about holds: don't. If you look at last years thread, there are numerous examples of people being taken off hold and receiving an II. If you want one from this year, me. I was placed on hold, and then received an II 10 days later for their first interview date. It is possible.

Do you know if any people get outright rejected versus put on hold? Like, can it be considered a "good" thing to be put on hold in that it means they didn't immediately turn you down?

Yes! I got an II over 2 months after being put on hold

Idk about outright rejections, but anything is better than being rejected. By definition, a rejection is game over.

After receiving that hold email (same day as you actually) I thought it was!!! Thanks for giving me hope & congrats!

I will run this race... And prepare myself for life ahead. ☺️

Hey did anyone get a File Under Review on their Welcome page? Mine has an exclamation point.... Checkmarks anyone and interview date??

I interviewed on 9/16 and also have a red exclamation point for "File Under Review." I think I recall someone at my interview day saying this happens for all interviewed applicants at some point and not to react to it? I sure hope we find out next week!

It does. If last year is any indication, that will be there until you are given a decision of some type (in fact, it stayed even after I got the formal rejection email but my communication status tab changed.)

Thanks for the info! Does it ever change to a checkmark though, when you're actually being reviewed? or it just remains an exclamation point?

It's the last week of October!! Any guesses as to when the 1st round of acceptances will be sent🙂

Just got this:

"The University of Arizona College of Medicine-Tucson sent out a round of acceptances today. Although you have not been selected at this time, you are still an active candidate in our applicant pool. This is not a rejection letter. You will remain eligible for acceptance at any time in the season."

Is this the waitlist message? Super bummed, number one choice. Any one know if OOS later got acceptances off the waitlist?

Waitlist won't be compiled till Spring. Your application will be rereviewed every time the committee meets. We could be accepted in a few weeks, or in a couple months.

Got the same email. I wasn't too surprised, especially as many of the students I've spoken with said they were placed in this category the first time around and then later accepted. Here's hoping we have the same result! 🙂
Go

Same message. Did this last year and it can be disheartening after the first 6 or 7 emails :/

Sorry to here this guys, at least you're not out of the running though. Just wondering if anyone who got the email interviewed in the last week of September or later? Thanks, and I wish you all the best.

Same email here as well 🙁 interviewed early September.

Does anyone know if it's possible to be rejected post interview, or is it accepted or into the hold pile?
