2014-2015 University of California - Davis Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I also had another question that I was hoping someone could answer... Does it affect your financial aid at one school if you added multiple schools to your Fafsa? Because I had added like six schools when I turned my Fafsa in but I definitelt want to go to UCD. I just don't want my financial aid here to be affected since I added quite a few other schools also.
It shouldn't. I also added every school I was even remotely considering, which was like 5 or 6 at the time.

I'm a little nervous about this program... I have an II for March 13th, 2015. But it looks like the class is already filling up. What are the chances that they will accept the late interviewers?

From what I hear, they accept students from every interview group. I wouldn't get too bent out of shape about it. I interviewed on the 13th, and I am pretty sure they still took a good number of us.

Any interview wait list people get an II recently? Or are interviews pretty much done now 🙁

Accepted via phone call today around 12pm pst! Interviewed on 2/20. Best of luck to those still waiting to hear back 😀

Congrats! I interviewed the same day as you but haven't heard anything. What should I expect now? Is it mostly wl/rejection or is there any possiblity to get a call for acceptance?

+1. Remaining hopeful and staying positive! Congrats to those accepted!!! I hope that 50% acceptance rate from the waitlist is true. Cheers to another long period of waiting 🙂

Congratulations and welcome to the family! You don't need to do anything to save your spot. As long as you don't actually e-mail them stating your withdrawal, they know you want to come here! So just sit tight. If you do have pressing questions though, feel free to contact the admissions office by phone.

It doesn't affect your fin aid. I don't even think the schools get the school list of those you submitted FAFSA for.

Just as good as the first round of interviewees.

Congrats! Welcome!

There two more interview dates scheduled.

Are the upcoming interview dates scheduled only in March?

Yes, I just called and they have an interview this Friday and next Friday. Does anyone know if they will disclose if you are on the waitlist to interview what # we are?

They tell you that you're on it (via email. I got mine in January), but don't tell you what position.

I have a couple of questions: 1. I was accepted on the 26th, but I have not yet heard anything about the PRIME program. Will I receive a formal rejection if I am not accepted to the program? I am curious because I am trying to fill out my additional financial aid application and it asks what programs I have been accepted to, with the PRIME program being one of them. I do not want to not circle it, since I haven't been accepted, and then have it affect me in the future. I also have not yet been contacted by students to go back for the personalized tour day. I might just be a little bit too antsy but just wanted to know if anybody knew how long it should take to be contacted?

Hello! Interviewed two weeks ago. Just wondering... I know Davis said they'd notify us hopefully in two weeks if we are accepted. Will they also call around the same time frame if we are waitlisted or rejected? Thank you

I also interviewed 2 weeks ago and haven't been notified either. Some people have received phone calls on saturday, so perhaps we still have to wait. Hoping to hear back soon!

Yeah! Looks like those people interviewed the week before us on 2/20! So gotta stay patient! I just want to know about the timeline for those rejected or waitlisted.

Hi, random question. I was accepted at UC Davis and accepted the offer a while back, but I recently got off the waitlist at another school. How do I go about withdrawing my application from Davis? I was thinking it would be the right thing to do to extend someone the same courtesy that was given me.

I appreciate people like you 🙂 Not sure either, but I am sure if you just contact the admissions office, they'll point you in the right direction.

To withdraw, I've sent the admissions office an email stating my intent and it has seemed to work. Be sure to include your AMCAS Id.

Best of luck with your chosen program!

anyone heard back from the 3/6 interview yet?

So... did anyone get in this week? I got the good ol' wait-list. Earlier on someone mentioned almost 50% get accepted from this list, anyone have a source for this info?

I interviewed on 3/13 and I realized I didn't send a thank you note... And I didn't do so for my previous MMI's... I mean how do you go about that? But maybe that's why I haven't heard back from other schools? I have sent thank you notes for the times I've had one on one interviews though.

Did you guys send one in for Davis? If so, who did you address it to? I should send one in before it gets any more late.

To be honest, I was on the fence about Davis but after interviewing this last week, it's now my number one choice. I don't know how I feel about living in Sacramento... But I loved the school, the administrative support, the atmosphere, it's just a great campus!

I sent a general thank you note through the applicant portal just thanking admissions office staff for their help leading up to and on interview day. I highly doubt that it had any weight on my acceptance.

Davis was my first interview and I didn't sent a thank you note as I had no clue how to do one for an MMI. And I was accepted way back in October. But I think the previous poster's idea is a great one to send a thank you note.

According to my intel, offers were supposed to go out before Match Day. Not sure if they experienced a delay or not.

Thank you notes are a polite gesture, but only the admissions office, NOT the committee, read them. They have no bearing on your candidacy.

Also, don't let Sactown bum you out! We're close enough to SF/Tahoe that you can get away for a weekend regularly, and without the expensive cost of living! Also, its not as bad once you get used to it, even if you come from a larger city. Plus the people here are super cool B-)

Thanks! I'll find out today if I get in or not. Let's hope I get a call. I've been thinking about it and the MMI for the past two weeks -_-

Finally rejected yesterday after being placed on an "interview wait list" in January I believe.

Not yet. I've been calling the admissions office but no one answers...

I haven't received any call yet either, or email. Would love anyone to update when they know something!

Another applicant just told me that all UCs are on break this week so maybe we will hear back next week.

No... But if they have caller ID, they probably saw 30 miss calls from me on Friday -_-

Acceptetd! got the call this morning. Interviewed 3/13.

I got the rejection email today. Good luck every body!

Since they were closed last week for Spring Break, does that mean notifications for 3/20 applicants will pushed a week later from 4/3 to 4/10?

post-interview? i didn't know they were already sending out post-interview rejections...

I think that they accept, reject, and waitlist people from each interview day.

Yea, post interview, I interviewed 3/13

Administrators don't take spring break off, Friday was just a UC holiday to celebrate Cesar Chavez. I would say they may be delayed a day.

Has anyone received a call for 3/20 interview acceptance, yet?

Does anyone know the difference between the April 30th and May 15th deadlines? I was told by the admissions comittee I would not hear back about my wait-list position until at least April 30th but is there anything important happening on May 15th as well? I keep seeing this date....will most wait-list movement began happening after the 30th or 15th?
