2014-2015 University of California - Riverside Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
There is also a deadline 3/15 for UCR to accept as many applicants as they have spots. But they might have already met that number.

Where'd you get this information?

Would anyone happen to know when the next ADCOM meeting is? I looked on last years thread and I saw acceptances going out near the end of this month and I was thinking that maybe they're meeting soon.

There was a thread about this in pre-allo a few weeks ago, can't seem to find it. But 3/15 is the day where all medical schools must send the same number of offers as there are seats in their class. In UCR's case, that's 50 seats. But recently, someone posted that they already sent out 40 offers, so by now, they might have already met this requirement.

Is it pretty much a pipe dream to hope for an II this late in the game?

I remember hearing that they have weekly meetings. Not sure about the day. I think it was either Tuesday or Thursday.

Congrats to all of those accepted this cycle! I am in the process of finalizing my list of schools for the upcoming cycle. Can anyone comment specifically on how particular UCR is to admitting students from the IE? I have heard varying opinions on this and wanted to check with actual applicants.

I live in the SGV and go to school in Pomona. While neither place is technically the IE they are both very close. My stats are average according to what is listed on MSAR.

Thanks!

From what I've observed during my interview, most interviewees had close ties with SoCal region. I don't have ties with IE, but I live in LA county. Someone came from Fresno, and I think that was the farthest place..

Accepted yesterday after interviewing 3/7!!!!!!!! I am beyond ecstatic!
Congratulations! If you don't mind sharing where you in the AM or PM group? Also would you mind sharing your stats?

Also has anyone else heard back from that day? And if we haven't heard back is there any home for us?

I remember you from my interview date!!!!
I just got an email saying I got accepted last Friday night. Another girl from our date got the same thing. Hopefully you hear back soon!

Congrats!
I was just wondering what day you interviewed 🙂

Still waiting also, sure hope to hear soon! Best of luck to you.

If you weren't one of the few to get accepted from your interview day which I assume applies to me since another from my day posted that they got accepted. Does that mean you are just waiting to be rejected? I am really confused what not hearing anything means for my chances.

I think it means you're just on a "waitlist" and you could get pulled off the waitlist any time from now until June. I'm in the same boat too, and it does kind of feel like I am waiting to be rejected. I don't think anyone is a fan of how UCR or UCLA handle their admissions process.

Yup... I interviewed the very first day back in September and just waiting for some news 🙁 would attend here 100% if accepted

I'm assuming you also interviewed 3/7? Were you in the AM or PM group? A handful of people received acceptances last Friday.. hopefully we hear some good news this Friday!

Hello guys. 21st is the last interview date and they have already sent out all interview spots.

They'll be sending out final rejection letters by mid April. : O

Well. This was the only school that I would choose over my current acceptance. Guess I'm officially heading to New Jersey. So long UCR!

Are there any re-applicants that received an acceptance/interview invite this time around?

I called the school this pass week and I spoke with the Dean of admissions. She said they were interviewing until mid April... So she either lied to me or how did you guys get your facts about the last interview being on 3/21?

Maaaaan, I hope this is true.

The dean of admissions is a female?

Hmm? I spoke to one of the two ladies listed on the website as contacts for admissions... So maybe not the dean of admissions? Whatever their positions are? I told them when I sent in my secondary (which was pretty late) and she said that due to the volume of applicants this year they where extending the interview period.

Did you speak to Tammy?

During our interview this Saturday, we were told we were the last interview date

Yea, my bad, I messed up. I confused my calls with another school.

UC Riverside is over. Sucks -_-

I wish they would just send out the pre-II rejections already instead of remaining completely silent.

Just received my pre-II rejection email about 30 minutes ago.

for those who have had an interview at this school/ were accepted. What is your opinion on letter of intent?

I just received two rejection emails XD. I get we weren't meant to be UCR, but you don't have to tell me twice.

Does UCR still have interviews left? I still haven't been rejected so I'm wondering if that means I still have a chance of being invited to interview.

Has anyone else interviewed as early is November, but has not herd anything back yet?
