I just emailed them and told them I submitted an abridged version of my essay just in case the 2500 characters is the true limit. I asked them to reset the prompt if it's actually supposed to be 2000 words as I also had a longer written essay.I will, I am anxious to hear as I love CU!
That's smart, I am sure they will be accommodating if it really is a mistake with the system!I just emailed them and told them I submitted an abridged version of my essay just in case the 2500 characters is the true limit. Yeah, my transition is rough... I don't really know how to go about it smoothly lolHi All!
Question: how are your transitions from Part A to Part B? My "story/element of diversity" doesn't lend itself to smooth transitions into "I'm interested in this program, and so-and-so's research on such-and-such and you guys are looking for xyz and I have zyx so we were obviously made to be together." Do any of you have similar feelings? If so, how are you dealing with it?
I transitioned with something along the lines of "Practicing as a physician in X community I know that I will meet patients with similar backgrounds as mine and CU School of Medicine can help me achieve that goal by ABC." Then I briefly explained ABC.Hi All!

I incorporated it throughout i.e. I talked about how different aspects of my diversity/uniqueness/interests align with their mission.Hi All!

When you click the campus selection button after the essay it alerts you that you are over. It's not like others where you can't paste the whole thingI can put my 1400 worder (not going to be that long in the end) in the essay text box. Is it cutting you all off at 2500 characters before of after you submit? Maybe they have fixed the problem by now and are indeed allowing for 2000 words. Which is cray. Not trying to write a behemoth secondary to later find out there was an application error.
it says that CU's secondaries goes out to 'selected' applicants. Do we know how they select them, or what the percentage of applicants get secondaries? (100?)
I just got off the phone with admissions. They are having "technical difficulties." He said that the essay is indeed 2000 words. Good luck everyone.

When I emailed them I told them I had submitted a condensed version of my essay as I wanted to be on top of things. I also asked if they could reset the prompt so I could submit a longer essay with more substance. Vidal Dickerson emailed me back and said he would give me the green light when IT had the problem fixed.Oh no! I already submitted and limited it to 2500 characters. Do you think they will know this happened? Should I call? I wonder for all the non-sdn people out there - they would have not known.
Good to knowIt's outdated. If they send you the secondary it's because you can submit it. Although if you want to submit a longer essay than what is allowed you need to wait until the word count is fixed. But the two are unrelated.
If it helps 2000 words is definitely overkill. This is so lame. I had my truncated 2500 character essay in within a couple hours of receiving it. Now I feel like I'm at a disadvantage for being on top of it.
Hopefully Vidal will reset the prompt so you can expand at least a little bit! I submitted mine too at the 2500 limit 😕This is so lame. I had my truncated 2500 character essay in within a couple hours of receiving it. Now I feel like I'm at a disadvantage for being on top of it.
Anyone have more insight into this? How inflated are Colorado's OOS stats due to residents of surrounding western states?Question about this school:
I'm considering applying here but to my knowledge they interview VERY few OOS people that are not located in adjacent states. Most people that go here are CO residents and residents of neighboring states that don't have an instate medical school. Do OOSers from the midwest have a chance here or is my secondary fee just a donation? If it helps I have family in Colorado and have been visiting there all my life, just have never been a resident. Not sure if that would give me "ties to the state."

The application says they don't send out a confirmation email, we just have to check back after Sept. 1 😱Did you guys get a confirmation email? I didn't

I would contact them, no harm in asking. Also, if you cant change it I am sure they will notice that you completed it before the 2500 character limit was fixed- and thus not hold it against you.For the people that just submitted - did they fix the text box so that essays could be 2000 words? I submitted with 2500 characters and might try to get them to reset it for me. If everybody writes long essays and mine is only 350 words it might look bad.
I talked to Vidal and he seemed unaware of the issue and said that others had all submitted 2000 word essays. He was not sure if he could reset mine. Downside to submitting so quickly! Hope my condensed version will be enoughI would contact them, no harm in asking. Let me know if that situation changes! I'm in the same boat.I talked to Vidal and he seemed unaware of the issue and said that others had all submitted 2000 word essays. He was not sure if he could reset mine. Downside to submitting so quickly! Hope my condensed version will be enough
Try your spam folder, it was in mineDid anyone not get a payment confirmation email? I got taken to the receipt page at the end, but never got an email.
Yes, that is the limit. Mine was about 1,400 words. I felt like I had thoroughly answered the question, and I think they'll have enough reading to do; I didn't feel the need to ramble for 600 more words. So the limit is definitely 2,000 words?
Are yalls actually that long?
