So does CU not send out any decisions in February? Their website says they do in Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan before finalizing things in March..
When I was at the interview on Friday, they were having a committee meeting that day so they probably sent out some decisions just maybe not to anyone on here. They will also have another committee meeting on March 6th and by the end of March Nichole said all decisions will be sent out hopefully. It is just a waiting game for now thoughSo does CU not send out any decisions in February? Their website says they do in Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan before finalizing things in March..
Yes I actually had the last date wrong it was Feb 27th for the next committee meeting. I wish you the best of luck! Thanks! I don't personally expect my decision until march, but it seems as if they accept a portion of each month's interviewees on a monthly basis and place the remaining applicants in a larger pool for decision in march. Hope it went well!
The Feb 27th last committee meeting day is what was mentioned at my interview in January, so glad to know that hasn't changed. It was also mentioned that phone calls generally tend to go out the week following the Friday meetings.Yes I actually had the last date wrong it was Feb 27th for the next committee meeting. Quick question about how people sent out thank you notes to their interviewers-- did you just search for their e-mail addresses and send letters directly to them?
I seem to recall reading that someone sent their notes to admissions first to have them forwarded on, but I can't find that comment despite searching the entire thread.
Thanks for the help!
They asked us to send them through admissions when I interviewed in the fall.
Great, thanks so much for your response! Did you just send to [email protected] with a note to forward to your interviewers?
I had to call to ask about it but eventually got one.How many people who requested a student host for the night before their interview get matched with one? I have an interview next Friday and am starting to wonder if I should make my own arrangements
If I remember correctly the last interview date is next friday 2-27... So I am not to sure if they are still giving out invitations. That would be a pretty quick turn around.Does anyone know if any more interviews are being given out? Not sure whether to give up hope yet...

Update on where admissions stands (from Vidal Dickerson today) :
They've given out just about 200 acceptances to date, expecting to give out about another 40-60 or so. He believes the new Dean is playing conservatively (in the past they've given out around 300). Due to fewer acceptances, Vidal is expecting A LOT more wait list movement this year than in the past, he is confident that they will rely on the waitlist to fill the class.
Those of you who haven't heard anything are still in the running! He emphasized that you are not rejected until you are rejected.
Finally, the committee met today, they are meeting next Friday, and the Friday after that and that's all that is planned. Therefore they are hoping to have the rest of the acceptances sent out in the next 2-3 weeks. Then they'll make sure they have their ranked waitlist set and then they'll sent the remaining waitlist notices and rejections. Overall, we should all know where we stand in 4 weeks or less.
Best of luck to you all!! 🙂

+1 thanks for sharingThanks for the update-- really helpful information! 🙂
He didn't specifically say, but I'd imagine that they probably have since the last interview day is a week from today 🙁 although if someone cancels I'm sure they'll try to fill the slot because I'm positive that's what happened for me. I got my II on Tuesday for today's interview. (granted I'm lucky I'm IS with a very supportive employer, so it was not a problem for me to have such little notice).Any word on if all IIs have gone out? Thank you!

But seriously though, 40-60 spots remaining is kind of disheartening because the website states something along the lines of '25 acceptances will be handed out per month from Oct. through Feb.' which equals 125 instead of 200......
He emphasized that if you are accepted you'll receive a phone call, followed by an email and an official letter in the mail. Are they mailing/emailing decisions yet or are they still at the point they are calling people?

On top of this, many people do an unofficial post bacc at CU Boulder. You could probably take some really interesting courses this way, and tailor your schedule to your needs. And it's only 30 mins from denverThere is a two year masters program in anatomy at CU Denver. Regis University, University of Northern Colorado and CSU Fort Collins both have one year programs that are dedicated to pre-med students trying to boost their GPA but they do not have any affiliation with CU itself. CSU Fort Collins has a collaboration with Rocky Vista University which is the DO school in Colorado but that is about it. These programs would definitely raise your GPA if you did well in them but only Regis is in Denver so that might be something you take into consideration as well.
If I wasn't accepted this year to CO (still waiting for an II) but would really like to attend next year is there a Post Bach or Masters program for a year in CO that would raise my chances of getting accepted? My GPA is lower than it should be for applying to medical school so I'm thinking of doing a program to raise it. I'm a non-trad older student so otherwise I will just go back to the job I've had in Medical devices for the last 12 years. Thoughts?

Masters in Public Health I have heard is a go-to supplementary degree that looks really positive on applications.
I would be careful about RVU though and definitely do your research, I eventually decided not to apply there when I found out a few things:
1) While the founders of the school control their holdings through a secondary LLC to provide more stability in the event of their death, going to the first ever for-profit medical school seems really risky and not something I would want to do when a loss of accreditation or a probation could severely mess up my career.
2) The founder of this medical school is a Taiwanese businessman named Tien who at one time attended a Caribbean med school but dropped out after one year. His father's and later his fortune were the result of founding a for-profit Caribbean med school and running it for many years. He recently sold this school to DeVry for $235 million and founded RVU as a for-profit DO school, the first for-profit medical school ever in the US. He invested $100 million to found RVU and says he expects profitable return on investment in 15-17 years.
3) The reason many people have a problem with this is that for-profit trade schools must be able to prove their graduates are gainfully employed and able to pay off loans in some reasonable time frame and many don't think this is likely especially in the context of the high costs students will incur to meet Tien's timeline. If the school ends up being unable to prove students can get employed and pay off their debt then the federal government will ensure their future students will not be able to take out loans which means that only people with parents that can afford to pay for the school up-front can really make it work.
4) Within the DO community there was very vocal opposition to the founding of a for-profit school, both in the context that DO's and DO schools to this day still sometimes struggle with (unnecessary in my opinion) negative perceptions and for the reasons listed above (and many more).
RVUs board scores really do look promising, agreed. There has been a great deal of concern recently with administrative and teaching staff turn over though so it is unclear whether that will stand the test of time. From what I have read about RVU is that they are actually scoring as one of the top DO schools in the country now. They also have been accredited for 10 years almos so I am going to say their accreditation is probably not going to be lost. The part about the loans however is very frightening but I am not sure where this information is coming from and I am not sure how reliable it is...
