Hey guys! I also am on the high alternate list. I tried calling last week but Jenn said that she couldn't disclose my rank. I'll try calling again tomorrow.
If you don't mind me asking, When did you interview/get wait-listed?
Oh wow =/ are you also a high alt?I interviewed in January too. I have called Carla 5 times throughout this application cycle and she answered the phone two times. She doesn't respond to voice mail so don't bother leaving one. I understand that she is really busy though...
Oh wow, good luck! I'm IS and went to UConn for undergrad. I just finished an MBS at TuftsYes, OOS.
None that I know of. I emailed a few days ago and Jenn said there is "little movement" so far 🙁Any updates here?
Unfortunately it doesn't look like Dr. Zeff is responding to the admissions email address. Also wouldn't people know if they are high alternates from the email that told them they are alternates? 🙂In previous years it looks like that had informed everyone of their exact position on the waitlist...this year things are different. I highly doubt there will be any numerically rank information but if you email Dr. Zeff I'm pretty sure he will tell you if you are a high alternate or not. Are you IS?
Oh, interesting. I got an email that directly said "high alternate" so I just assumed everyone else did 🙂 and thanks for the advice! I forgot about his separate address so I will definitely contact him that wayHow long has it been since you emailed him ? last time I emailed him he replied a week later. Try using his email address and CC the admissions email...
It is possible for applicants that were waitlisted earlier on to not know that they are high alternates... in past years people had to call or email to get that information.
That sucks =/ did he mean the OOS wait list or the IS one?depressing news 🙁 , Dr. Zeff says that he "senses" that it is unlikely that we will see any significant activity on the alternate list going forward.![]()
Oh well yeah, if you look at past trends there are surges of movement toward the end of summer. Don't lose hope yet! A lot of people have posted acceptances toward the end of June/through July because the people who are double deposited ultimately have to commit. It's super annoying that there is no way of enforcing the May 1 deadline, Jenn told me that people were still double deposited even by May 15He just said that they haven't seen much movement over all. He didn't say anything about OOS/IS or the specifics of my chances as an individual...just a general prediction/educated guess of waitlist movement this summer
Unfortunately I didn't ask about the OOS list size, sorry 🙁 and I spoke to Jenn about that around May 15 but after that she couldn't comment on whether or not people were double depositedYea it is a separate list and last year they accepted 92 OOS to enroll 23 so I had hoped the OOS List would be very active but they seem to have high yield this year ...did previous Dean say how many IS/OOS there are on the High priority list?
When did she tell you that ? At this point I would think everyone has dropped other acceptances
Thank you 🙂 if it helps, one of my friends got accepted today... the waitlist IS moving!UConn doesn't reject from the waitlist and since you are in the high tier, theoretically there is hope until August 18th...good luck![]()
Yup, he is. Fingers crossed!!I'm assuming your friend is In-State ....Hope it keeps moving![]()
Haha yup! I interviewed Jan 9, found out about the wait list in April, they didn't update it until June. I emailed Dr. Zeff but I guess he's on vacation. I spoke to Jenn on Monday and she said that she would remind him to email me back. Sigh.Status on the portal finally changed from 'in committee' to 'alternate admit status' three months after I was notified I was placed on the waitlist![]()
I'm sure you'll be fine too. Yay husky!
Yep this is my top choice and i'm sure it's yours too. Hopefully we both get IIs 🙂
Anybody IS hear back about an II? I know a couple of friends had interviews, but they are in the combined program.
Yup! II = Interview Invite 🙂New to SDN.. can anyone clarify what a II is? Assuming an interview?
That sucks 🙁Got confirmation today that there has not been a single acceptance in the past couple of weeks and that is unlikely that they will make any more offers for this cycle.
