i am pretty sure that you need to interview before you have a chance at acceptance first. So according to previous posts, if i get the "A final decision was made on your application on 11-21-14. Please allow two-weeks to receive the correspondence in the mail. If you do not receive this correspondence in two-weeks" status change before I got an interview, I essentially have been rejected?
has anyone who interviewed in Chicago 10/20 gotten a status change?
gahh so looks like 1 more month of waiting! Thankful for the acceptance I do have! Thanks for the info!Hey there,
I interviewed in Chicago on (10/24) and got the Final Decision made with Additional Correspondence tab on my status page last Thursday (10/20).

I understand that you need a interview first. What I am curious about is if the status saying "Final Decision on your application has been made" means that you are rejected outright. I have not had an interview yet so it can only mean that I am rejected or that I will be given an interview. Sounds more like a rejection to me but I was just trying to see if someone could clarify.i am pretty sure that you need to interview before you have a chance at acceptance first.
Unfortunately, yes, it means a rejection. Had you been selected for an interview, you would have been prompted to view the interview dates and then call the admissions office for scheduling. You also would have received an interview invite email.I understand that you need a interview first. That's what I figured. Thanks for the response. Good luck to the rest of you guys!Unfortunately, yes, it means a rejection. Hello! This is my first post on sdn. I interviewed in Peoria on 11/14. My new application status is: "A final decision was made on your application on 11-20-14". It says "Additional Correspondence" next to my confirm interview date (it's not really a tab). Has anyone from early November received their mail correspondence yet? I am cautiously optimistic.
Hmmmm. I interviewed a few days prior to that, but mine still says "Decision Pending." :-/Hello! This is my first post on sdn. I interviewed in Peoria on 11/14. Hopefully I can put you at ease, but I believe that everyone who has the "Additional Correspondence" doesn't have a tab per say. Mine isn't a tab, it just says the words next to my interview date. I'm sure this is true for everyone so you should be happy because you most likely got accepted 🙂I'm in pretty much the same boat, but I'm cautiously pessimistic. What is the difference between a tab and just the words "additional correspondence"?
I'm kind of freaking out.
I interviewed in Chicago and I think the style of interview is different depending where you interview.Hey guys, does anyone know if the interview is open file? Or partial file? What types of questions were you asked? I appreciate any feedback 😀
So if my page looks like that, most likely I got accepted?!?It looks like this (dates removed):

But for Chicago, I interviewed with 3 people one on one. A student, and 2 professor/doctor there. The only info they had on my were my personal essays and basic identifying info...aka no MCAT and no GPA. They werensuperblaid back and more like conversations. I did get asked why medicine and I also was asked why a doctor and not like a nurse or something. Other than that I talked about my alms mater, my interest in travel, coffee, fashion...it was actually really nice. They didn't decide on me for the first round of acceptances but I have received the final decision + additional correspondences tab on 11/20 so I am cautiously optimistic.
Good luck!
About a week. 10/24 status changed --> 11/1 received letter (on a Saturday) - postmarked 10/29.About how long did it take people to get letters? I got my final + additional on 11/20 and it says two weeks and i know patience but...as you can understand...slightly going insane right now. Do you think for the people they made decisions on this past meeting the letters got sent out friday or just yesterday??
If you could share your stats, I would greatly appreciate it!rejected pre interview via snail mail, no email. post marked 11/21
OOS
rejected pre-interview via mail as well... 3.95 gpa at their undergrad university in math, 34 MCAT, in state resident....don't really understand how I don't even get an interview. This state sucks...
Yeah I heard back from a couple places early but other than those few schools just rejections or waiting. Gotten a decent amount of those "we're still looking at your application even though its been months" emails as well. Luckily I have one acceptance so I at least know I'm going somewhere.Damn man sorry to hear. Hope you're getting replies from other places! I haven't heard back with II from anyone and the wait sucks.

NoFor those of us who will be receiving letters from the November adcom meeting, is our chance of getting our first campus preference still pretty high?
Really? Aren't we only the second wave though?

Thats what I thought, I figured he just didn't even know. Thanks, I was getting worried because I've already been looking at neighborhoods in Chicago to live in 😀I'm not sure why that guy posted what he did, but he's absolutely wrong. You can and most likely WILL get your first choice. When I called them after my acceptance last months they told me that only 50 or so people had been accepted. There are over 150 spots at Chicago alone if I recall correctly.
The Adcom meets every third Thursday of the month so their next meeting should be on 12/18!Does anyone know when the adcom is meeting again? I interviewed 10/20 and have been decision pending ever since :O Hoping to get some good news before christmas!
If you got the additional correspondence and final decision tab but no cbc email is that a rejection?
Seriously it has GOT to be today right?!Not necessarily. Someone made a post on pg 13 that said they got the status change+ additional correspondence, received their acceptance a week later, submitted their site preference and deposit and 2-3 weeks after that still hadn't received the CBC.
Edit: But I feel your anxiety. If I don't get a letter in the mail today I may just go camp out by the med school in Chicago and raid their mailboxes...

They don't have a formal hold status. "Applicant In Process" just means that your file is complete and is under consideration. I don't know what goes on in the background, but some on here got an ii or rejection within a few weeks, others like you and me get to play the check status game some more.I've been "Applicant in Process" since 9/23. Does anyone know if this means I am on hold?
