Congrats!! Don't stay at the clock tower resort if you're spending the night. The bus goes from the airport to there but it's the worst place everrrrr

I'm in too!! Did my interview on 10/29 and just got it today!

Interviewing here in early feb. Can anyone talk about their experience at the chicago campus? Anybody remember the questions they were asked?

you got your letter?! I still haven't gotten anything from them!

Congrats on acceptance! are you looking to go here or still waiting? chicago campus?

I'm definitely going here, gotta love that public in-state tuition. I really can't decide between Chicago and Urbana, I go to Chambana for undergrad and really love it, but at the same time a change of scenery and a change of people could be refreshing.

Hahaha small world, #basedmehrtens. The letter didn't come to me here actually, it went to my parents in the suburbs since I put their place as my permanent address.

Ok, so I asked this previously but...what are you guys doing about the hep form? Are we supposed to wait to receive something official before sending out our immunization records?

Or are people just sending the admissions office their immunization records as soon as they are accepted, along with their check and preference card and updated transcripts??

Thank you so much for the heads up!!! I assume you interviewed in Rockford as well. Any tips? I feel a little bummed that it's only one 30-minute interview as opposed to Chicago interviews that have three separate 30-minute interviews. Does it seem like it goes way too quickly? 25 minutes of questions = not much time at all!!

Complete?

Stats?

I was complete 8/29. Stats are pretty unimpressive (3.54 gpa, 29 MCAT) but I have a significant amount of clinical experience since I am a nurse. I also have a bachelor's degree in finance. Pretty non-traditional.

Anyone here that was accepted and interviewed in Rockford? If so, could you pm me?

For those of you that are being accepted, when did you interview? I interviewed mid November and I haven't heard anything yet.

i interviewed october 3rd and got passed over for november and then accepted.

Finally received my acceptance packet in the mail today! Am I the only person who is interested in the Peoria track at this point? Chicago has many opportunities but I am not a big city girl at all.

I interview in January, but if I'm offered a place I will preference Peoria 1st because of the same thing. Also cost of living.

Yes, the interview went by super quickly! The interview day overall is very short, which was quite nice. 🙂

My only tip is to know how you'll answer the typical med school interview questions! This is the first interview I had in which I was actually asked some of the questions I had been expecting in my other four interviews but never gotten.

I still have not received my letter (final decision 11/20). I live in Peoria... I don't understand the delay. Has anyone outside of Chicago received their letter?

The Adcom meets every third Thursday of the month so their next meeting should be on 12/18!

I'm interviewing this Friday (12/12), and I'm not sure if there will be an admissions committee meeting this month since the University-Wide Academic Calendar shows finals ending on 12/12 and everyone being on winter break after that. Anyone interview recently (within the last week or so) that knows whether they will be meeting on the 3rd Thursday of this month or if the holidays will push it back a month???

I interviewed this week at another school that normally lets applicants know a decision within 5 weeks, but because of the holidays it is actually 9 weeks.

I would hope so. They told us that they would have a decision by late December.

????? In not sure what you ate trying to say... That I don't or it doesn't matter?

Well... nobody that goes to the University of Illinois calls the school "UI." It's either UIC for the University of Illinois at Chicago or UIUC/ U of I for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIS for the Springfield one). So I thought it was a little strange that you were saying you had a strong connection to "UI."

When did you interview Tredwise? Did you interview before or after the 3rd Thursday of November?

hi all! i have an interview here next winter, but would love an earlier date. have people successfully changed the dates of their interview to an earlier date? how so? (feel free to pm me too)

Has anyone interviewed this week? If so, I am wondering what you were told in terms of whether you would be considered in the Dec batch of acceptances during the December adcom meeting on the 3rd Thursday of the month.

I interviewed last week and they said that at the earliest we would hear back early Jan and at the latest early February. They said during the holidays the adcom meeting might get moved up a week. Early Feb was in case our evaluation papers didn't get to the Chicago campus in time (I interviewed at a regional campus). However, my status changed to Decision Pending yesterday so I guess they already got my papers...

That could mean that you make it into the Dec adcom meeting because the decisions are usually the 3rd Thursday and people seem to be getting the status changes by the beginning of the following month. Thanks for the info... good luck!

Can anyone offer insight on the type of ethical/ "what would you do..." questions that were asked?

Hmmm.. That's odd. Both my parents are Illinois alumni, my grandparents are faculty and the entirety of my aunts/ uncles and cousins are alumni as well and they all call it UI. Perhaps it is different for the medical school. Shrug.

II 09/04 - Chicago interview 10/20 - final decision & additional correspondence 11/20 - acceptance letter 12/08 - Chicago placement letter 12/12

IS. 3.6 sGPA. 3.7 overall. 33 MCAT.

Good Luck!
Congratulations!!! When did you receive the site preference card, and how soon did you mail it back? I'm surprised you got the placement letter 4 days after the acceptance letter.
