2014-2015 University of Louisville Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
From what I've read there doesn't seem to be an issue with resubmitting LORs, although you need to have some changes to your application. Maybe an extra letter from someone you've worked for or volunteered for in the last year. Also, a new personal statement seems to be the norm.

Ahhh hopefully the remaining top thirders hear back soon! This summer has been torture

Started to get really worried. I wonder how many people in the top 1/3 still haven't been accepted...

Oh. My. God. I'm so dumb.
I just checked my spam and the "Wait list Interest Confirmation" email was there sitting since the beginning of the month... I think it might be too late to reply ...

What do I do?!

I would email them pronto and see what can be done about it. Good luck!!!

Even at schools that have ranked waitlists, interest and update letters can help people jump positions (if the school says they will accept such correspondence).
Have you maintained contact with UL?

Yes I have.

I would call them.
Should I simply just ask how far I am on the waitlist, or should I bring up the fact that I know someone from middle-third instate who got accepted? It's the fact that I don't know this accepted student personally that makes it kind of awkward.

I would ask about recent waitlist movement and mention that you heard someone from the middle third was accepted. Follow up with a question about how close you are to the top now. Ask anything else you need to know. Let them know you really want to go there. You have 13 days and 2 hours left to get in, go all out so you don't have regrets 🙂

Are there any other people top 1/3 who still haven't been accepted? Or any middle third IS who got accepted?

I also have a friend who was middle third IS accepted a couple weeks ago.
It is SO depressing to find out people from the middle third are being accepted when I still haven't been accepted. On top of that, the waitlist movement has pretty much stopped at this point according to Mrs. Osborne. I did what I could I guess... 🙁

I'm really confused too as to why you haven't heard back if they are taking middle third people. Have you talked with Ms. Osborne and explained that you know of middle third in state acceptances? I think that's fair for you to express your confusion over why you haven't been accepted if you are indeed above them on the wait list. I'm middle third IS but if I was in the top third I would be asking the admissions office if they made some sort of mistake. Worth a shot.

Yup I emailed her immediately asking precisely that. She said my application has not been overlooked and that sometimes middle-third can get accepted before top-third. Sigh.

This all puts a bad taste in my mouth regarding the waitlist process.

Anyone know the last date they accept students off the waitlist? Is it this Friday or next?

Hi everyone,

For all of those of you who received interviews/acceptances at any point in the cycle and were OOS, did you have strong ties (or ties at all to Louisville/Kentucky)? I am thinking about completing the secondary today, however I started to become hesitant to submit it/whether it is worth it, but then I saw so many of you receive acceptances OOS towards the end of the cycle!

I didn't submit mine until mid- November, and I am originally from 30 minutes north of Louisville in Indiana. I was in one of the very first interview dates that was only for a waitlist spot, and I got in pretty early off the waitlist. So, I would if I were you?

Thank you so much! My only ties to Kentucky are my partner's family so I think I will give it a shot! Thank you 🙂
