2014-2015 University of Southern California (Keck) Application Thread

Anybody know Keck's policy on 'in-the-area' emails? I didn't see anything on their website.
 
Well, I am just a lowly pre-med myself. It is correct that the sooner you can get them in, the better. However, many schools haven't even sent out II yet. I think it is much more important that you produce a solid piece of work for each secondary. I have talked to plenty of my friends who applied in previous cycles. Many of them got all of their apps in by the second week in September and still got fall and early winter interviews. I know the sample size is small, but that's my two cents.
 
Anyone else get II? Was complete 08/06 but have heard nothing. Worried I've already been passed over.

absolutely shocked. However, with that MCAT you'll likely get in at at least a couple of top 10 schools, so I would not be even slightly worried if I was you.

Thanks. I'm not particularly worried, but I haven't had any other invites was hoping my first news would be good news and not a rejection. Hoping to hear something positive before I leave for Burning Man Friday!

The first available date was Wed Oct. 1st (the only day that week), and the next after that was Tues Oct. 14th, with several more that week. I believe the days of the week were Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, but I'm not 100% sure if it was limited to those.

That's what I saw too! Each day also has a 9 AM and a 10 AM session.

There was Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday for the week of October 1st when I checked.

Does anyone know where student hosts live relative to school/if it varies? Trying to find somewhere as close to the school as possible because I don't want to deal with the infamous LA traffic!
 
For those of you that were rejected, did your status change or did you only receive a rejection email?!
 
Also got an II this week! Received an email and a phone call to schedule my interview the day after sending an 'in the area email,' so i guess they are receptive!

Love the Keck admissions office and excited to visit!

Oh wow! Just realized I had a missed call from an LA number a couple hours before I got the email. Who was on the phone?

Also, is the phone call for an II standard for Keck?

Ha well I had trouble hearing at first but just someone from the admissions office, couldn't tell ya a name or position. I got the phone call after the email.

I don't think a call is standard, I think it was because I was going to be in the area on a date outside of the currently available dates.

Rejected this morning. It was a reach school of mine because of my mcat score. I was in the 10th percentile of accepted students according to msar, but I thought the other part of my application would make up. Unfortunately, I don't think it was enough. I was OOS if any of you are wondering. I received an email saying that they would be unable to interview me. I was complete a little more than 2 weeks ago.
 
Still no love from my top choice school... Will they please stop playing with my emotions??
 
None of you got complete emails right, just complete in the portal itself?
