Nope. The only other letter you may get will be a waitlist letter after everyone is ranked in late april early may. You could also get an acceptance letter before then or a rejection letter in the summer when it's unlikely that you will get a spot.

Accepted today! So excited to see everyone this fall! Good luck to those waiting, just have faith!

Where in TN are you? : ) Stats? Congrats, by the way!
I'm from Nashville man. 41 MCAT. 3.8ish Post-Bac. Struggled in undergrad due to an illness so I definitely had a lot to prove and why I'm guessing it took so long to get interviews/acceptances. PM me if you want more details. But if I can turn things around, anyone can!

Wow that may be the highest MCAT score I've heard of! Congrats man!

With a 41 you can! Nice job for sure 🙂

Got accepted! IS interview 12/3 from Nashville!

By the way, so it makes some of y'all more confident my stats are 28 MCAT, 3.83 uGPA, currently doing research at Vanderbilt. It's possible!

Good luck to everyone! Wish you the best!

That's great! Were you on hold?

Some schools have a "these are our stats so far for this year's application cycle" page. Does anyone know if UT-HSC does?

I've looked before for something like it but haven't found anything. I don't know for sure that they don't but I'm pretty sure they don't.

II today for February 9th! Four days is enough time to get ready for an interview, right?! I wish I could have known a little farther in advance. Oh well, super excited!!!!:banana: Its been a dream to attend UTHSC for medical school for quite some time.

Anyone from previous cycles of interviews hear anything? Anyone from hold get accepted?
Hey, I just got an II yesterday at 12:15 and I'm reapplying this cycle from the 2013 cycle.
Excited that they finally sent something out to me, but then nervous at the same time. :/

I got a secondary in September, but I haven't heard a peep since. After hearing about how some of you all are married/have kids, I'm wondering if my age is hurting me with UTHSC. I'll still be 21 when medical school starts in the fall.
Don't be discouraged, I submitted my secondary in September and just heard back yesterday about an II!

If you don't mind my asking, roughly when in Sept did you submit your secondary. I ask bc I submitted mine towards the end and haven't heard back.

Shouldn't hurt you! I was 21 when I started med school at UT, and I wasn't the youngest person in my class

Don't worry about it! I was 21 when I started my M1 year, and I wasn't the youngest person in my class

I got their confirmation about them receiving my secondary on Sep. 4th

Who did you guys return the EVEA to?
I returned it to the specified address at the bottom of the page if I remeber correctly. I still haven't got a confirmation on that though and I sent it about 2 weeks ago.

So you mailed it? I emailed them and they said to email it with the pic of my driver's license/passport.

Also, which "other documents" should be sent in with the completed EVEA?

I just sent in a copy of my drivers license and the form attached/signed. Hmm, nothing else though

Nice! I am pretty sure that answers the question about your EVEA form haha
Haha, yeah I guess it does. It was dated Feb 2 though, so there may be more out there that just haven't been delivered yet.

Any other OOS applicants get a very strange II email today? It was pretty much saying hey we'll send you an invite if you're still interested but there's not a ton of spots left.

Lol I did. Pretty much said "If you still like us & want an interview let us know"

@rugger4 are you going to go for it? It was an incredibly small number of spots for OOS. I'm honored to get an "II".. but not sure if I like those odds lol (10 hour drive).

I am planning on going for it. I lived in the state for 18 of my 21 years and only due to my parents moving out of the state within the last year am I being considered OOS. I'm hoping my strong state ties help.... plus the drive is only a few hours for me!

Understandable! Good luck with everything! snag one of those spots 🙂

I'm flying in from Germany to go to an interview on the 25th - I got my II last Friday and it was still the standard form, but I figure there wouldn't be much of a shot for getting a slot this year. I'm in the first year of a two year masters over here in Munich though and I was clear in my secondary that I would seek a deferral, so I'm hoping they wouldn't bother asking me to come without really considering it. Anyone know if they can grant me a deferred acceptance even if the OOS slots for this year are full? If nothing else I imagine I'll be able to skype interview next year if it comes to that and I get to visit the family after 6 months abroad.

Anyone know when they meet in Feb.?/ heard anything this month?

I'm still on the hold list, but when would you folks suggest asking Memphis about things to improve for re-app should we not get in? I assume after they finalize us on the waitlist (assuming not an outright rejection, oh that would hurt at this point). Would it be a bad idea to go ahead and request some new LORs in March to be ready to apply as early as possible? How did some of you current re-apps approach this last year?

Do you know if that is their only meeting in Feb?
I emailed Diane at the end of January asking when the next meeting would be and she told me the 20th, so I'm assuming that it's the only one for this month. It is possible that they could have one on the 27th, but at this point I think that they only meet once a month.

I was on the hold list last year and I was led to believe that I still had a shot when I spoke with Nelson in June. He assured me that applying again right then was not necessary, but here I am again.. If I were you, I would start the whole process again in late April/early May when we get the wait-list letters. That will give you about a month to get letters, write a new essay, update the activities section, and submit by the June 1st opening for AMCAS. I think the earlier the better since UT does accept on a rolling admissions basis. Good luck to ya! I really hope that we don't have to go through this again!

Does anyone know when the second look or whatever day is scheduled?

Can anyone let me know my chances at UT for the 2016 cycle?

cGPA: 3.603
sGPA: 3.45
MCAT: 31
I am currently a junior at Loyola Chicago, applying for the 2016 cycle. I am a resident of Tennessee.

Clinical Volunteer: I have been volunteering at a hospital since the Fall and have accumulated 0+ hours. My volunteer coordinator is also writing me one of my rec letters. Will this suffice for clinical volunteering?

Physician shadowing: Shadowed a Pediatric Surgeon this past winter break, accumulated 48 hours. Shadowed Pediatric Neurosurgeon for one day (because he's a big time doctor in Chicago and was really busy all the time-- is also the head of my research lab, my PI works under him)

Research: Have volunteered my time to pediatric brain tumor research since Spring of my sophomore year. Very involved in the research and will continue until I graduate.

Nonclinical volunteer activities: Active member of Amnesty international club at my school. Tutored refugee children my freshman year. Led tutoring group of underprivileged hs students for NSCS. Currently PR for a pre-med club.

Employment: Currently tutor sociology 2 hours/week since January. Scribed for pediatrics office 40hrs/week for two months summer after freshman year.
