They probably only sent out two or three acceptances off the hold list that day. The bright side is that at least we know that people can get accepted off the hold list this cycle! In Smyrna Nashville area. No mail! 🙁
Nope. The only other letter you may get will be a waitlist letter after everyone is ranked in late april early may. You could also get an acceptance letter before then or a rejection letter in the summer when it's unlikely that you will get a spot.do they send out hold letters again even if youre still on hold from before
Where in TN are you? : ) Stats? Congrats, by the way!Accepted today! So excited to see everyone this fall! Good luck to those waiting, just have faith!
I'm from Nashville man. 41 MCAT. 3.8ish Post-Bac. Struggled in undergrad due to an illness so I definitely had a lot to prove and why I'm guessing it took so long to get interviews/acceptances. PM me if you want more details. But if I can turn things around, anyone can!Where in TN are you? : ) Stats? Congrats, by the way!
Wow that may be the highest MCAT score I've heard of! Congrats man!I'm from Nashville man. 41 MCAT. 3.8ish Post-Bac. That's great! Were you on hold?Got accepted! IS interview 12/3 from Nashville!
By the way, so it makes some of y'all more confident my stats are 28 MCAT, 3.83 uGPA, currently doing research at Vanderbilt. It's possible!
Good luck to everyone! Wish you the best!
Yes I was on holdThat's great! Were you on hold?
I've looked before for something like it but haven't found anything. I don't know for sure that they don't but I'm pretty sure they don't.Some schools have a "these are our stats so far for this year's application cycle" page. Does anyone know if UT-HSC does?
Hey, I just got an II yesterday at 12:15 and I'm reapplying this cycle from the 2013 cycle.Anyone from previous cycles of interviews hear anything? Anyone from hold get accepted?
Don't be discouraged, I submitted my secondary in September and just heard back yesterday about an II!I got a secondary in September, but I haven't heard a peep since. After hearing about how some of you all are married/have kids, I'm wondering if my age is hurting me with UTHSC. I'll still be 21 when medical school starts in the fall.

Shouldn't hurt you! I was 21 when I started med school at UT, and I wasn't the youngest person in my classDon't be discouraged, I submitted my secondary in September and just heard back yesterday about an II!

I got their confirmation about them receiving my secondary on Sep. 4thIf you don't mind my asking, roughly when in Sept did you submit your secondary. I ask bc I submitted mine towards the end and haven't heard back.
I returned it to the specified address at the bottom of the page if I remeber correctly. I still haven't got a confirmation on that though and I sent it about 2 weeks ago.Who did you guys return the EVEA to?
So you mailed it? I emailed them and they said to email it with the pic of my driver's license/passport.I returned it to the specified address at the bottom of the page if I remeber correctly. I still haven't got a confirmation on that though and I sent it about 2 weeks ago.
I just sent in a copy of my drivers license and the form attached/signed. Hmm, nothing else thoughSo you mailed it? I emailed them and they said to email it with the pic of my driver's license/passport.
Also, which "other documents" should be sent in with the completed EVEA?
Gotcha. I like the school but they can be hard to communicate with for sure.I just sent in a copy of my drivers license and the form attached/signed. Hmm, nothing else though
The interview day was quite enjoyable! Now the excruciating wait begins . . .![]()
Just got a letter with a scholarship offer! I didn't even know these were being sent out!
Haha, yeah I guess it does. It was dated Feb 2 though, so there may be more out there that just haven't been delivered yet.Nice! I am pretty sure that answers the question about your EVEA form haha
Any other OOS applicants get a very strange II email today? It was pretty much saying hey we'll send you an invite if you're still interested but there's not a ton of spots left.
@rugger4 are you going to go for it? It was an incredibly small number of spots for OOS. I'm honored to get an "II".. but not sure if I like those odds lol (10 hour drive).Lol I did. Pretty much said "If you still like us & want an interview let us know"

Understandable! Good luck with everything! snag one of those spots 🙂I am planning on going for it. I lived in the state for 18 of my 21 years and only due to my parents moving out of the state within the last year am I being considered OOS. I'm hoping my strong state ties help.... plus the drive is only a few hours for me!
If you haven't been accepted anywhere else, it's probably worth it to go interview.@rugger4 are you going to go for it? It was an incredibly small number of spots for OOS. I'm honored to get an "II".. but not sure if I like those odds lol (10 hour drive).
Anyone know when they meet in Feb.?/ heard anything this month?
I emailed Diane at the end of January asking when the next meeting would be and she told me the 20th, so I'm assuming that it's the only one for this month. It is possible that they could have one on the 27th, but at this point I think that they only meet once a month.Do you know if that is their only meeting in Feb?
I was on the hold list last year and I was led to believe that I still had a shot when I spoke with Nelson in June. He assured me that applying again right then was not necessary, but here I am again.. If I were you, I would start the whole process again in late April/early May when we get the wait-list letters. That will give you about a month to get letters, write a new essay, update the activities section, and submit by the June 1st opening for AMCAS. I think the earlier the better since UT does accept on a rolling admissions basis. Good luck to ya! I really hope that we don't have to go through this again!I'm still on the hold list, but when would you folks suggest asking Memphis about things to improve for re-app should we not get in? I assume after they finalize us on the waitlist (assuming not an outright rejection, oh that would hurt at this point). Would it be a bad idea to go ahead and request some new LORs in March to be ready to apply as early as possible? How did some of you current re-apps approach this last year?
