2015-2016 Boston University Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Sorry to hear! I was really rooting for you! Oh well, onto bigger fish I guess? In all seriousness, good luck elsewhere! Pleasure to see your posts on here 🙂
Thanks, Runner! Same to you for all the above! Still have so many more hear from.

Rejected tonight at 0015hrs Boston time... Someone must be working some late ass hours there. Complete mid August

Rejection. Completed 8/19.

Complete 8/30 and rejected. But, my god, the letter was fantastic. I almost feel good about myself after reading it haha. Best of luck everyone!

It's bittersweet to have not heard anything from here for a while. Complete 8/3

Did anyone submit an update letter before getting an II or rejection? I was complete on 8/12, and uploaded an update letter about my new job on 9/22. Hoping the letter isn't just delaying a rejection.

Can anyone who interviewed here talk a little bit about their experience? I'm just curious what your impression was. Anything in particular stand out? Specific things to look for? Was there a pretty good vibe among students/admin? General/overall thoughts on the school?

Rejected, IS, at 11:44pm o.o pretty late!

513MCAT (11,10,14,10), 3.97 masters gpa, lower ugpa, app complete 9/10

I figured this would come -- but it took them ~3 weeks longer than last time.

II today, and interviewing later this week haha -- that was a fast turnaround.
Congrats 🙂 When did you complete?

And sorry to everyone who got rejected today. 🙁
Mine is probably coming... completed on 9/10 too. What is with BU and mid-night decisions? O.O

Edit: Put the wrong date in. Oops.

How do I write this without coming off as arrogant...

To the people with such great stats getting the axe, don't be discouraged. BU's adcom seems to like a particular kind of applicant. During my interview day I was told that BU really looks for applicants that fit the mission of the school. Specifically, they show more affinity towards those who demonstrate a desire to serve underserved populations. I took this to mean that your ECs should reflect this (i.e. volunteering in public healthcare settings rather than private.) I'm guessing if BU rejected you, they felt you and the school just weren't the right fit for each other, and not that you weren't good enough for them.

Rejected at 6 am. Complete 8/31, LizzyM~75. What a crappy way to begin the day

Rejected this morning. Complete 8/31. Canadian. PhD. cGPA 3.4-3.5. 522

Damn. I was hoping this would not happen to you too.

Thank you @trini818 ... It is what it is. Not super surprised as it seems they generally aren't very international-friendly. Pritzker said no today also (of course super competitive school).. but I did just finish my SUNY Upstate interview.. so overall a bitter-sweet day.

@bearintraining how was the interview!!! I am still heading up in Feb unless I can get an earlier date..Im a boston reject too 🙁

I should have applied to Upstate. Maybe would have had a chance.

Yeah, you were the last one left of our little mini thread. Was holding out hope that one of us would make it out of the gauntlet. That's how it goes I guess. They don't want us "science-y" people I guess 😛

onward soldiers! Good luck elsewhere!
