Based on the FB group, it seems like only 4 members are not current students so you're probably right.

@f4reignbeauty do you know if acceptances are still going out? It seems like the process is pretty delayed this year.

Wish I had more information regarding whether acceptances were going out! At the moment, I am not privy to that information and only know as much as you all. 🙁

Hey guys keep the faith 24 people is a rigid number. Matriculation and acceptance are not the same thing. They probably accept 35 people or more and the people who pass up on the opportunity make them cut down the matriculates to 24. So if they accepted 10 already then maybe 3 of the people won't go to CDU....Thats still at least 17 more people to be accepted to get up to 24. At least that's what I'll keep telling myself.....:nailbiting:

Hey everyone, Drew student here. Just to clear up any confusion, they definitely accept only 24 people, and pull from the wait list whenever one of those 24 drop out, up until the matriculation date. I have a classmate who got into Drew in June. So keep the faith! Also, 14 people as of now have been accepted.

Thank you so much for the update! This might be asking for too much, but would you happen to know if they've accepted anyone from anyone who interviewed in January or February? Just thought I would ask 🙂

Hey @Stereotaxic, I have no idea. I don't remember applicants' names from interview dates so I wouldn't be able to say.

Congrats!! That's a huge accomplishment! Did Joe give you any insight into how far they are with acceptances? Is the class full now?

No, he did not. I honestly was very surprised by the call. I assumed I wouldn't hear until much later considering how many applicants there trying to process. Also, I'm not entirely sure how any would have obtained that information. He told me I received the acceptance, I screamed, and then the scholarship, and I honestly started crying. hahah

But I wish you the best of luck ExtremeStressophile. I hope everyone will hear soon

Omg I got this too but never got a call from them. I called the office and they said joe was out of the office. I checked my portal and I had an accepted student checklist I hope this is true. The agony!!!

+1 - Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted and congrats to the Geffen Scholars. So AMAZING! I look forward to meeting you all!!!

I received the "Welcome from the Financial Aid Office of the Geffen School of Medicine!" email yesterday at 7:53pm est. I too thought it was odd that I hadn't received a phone call from Joe before recieiving an email from Financial Aid. I attempted to get in touch with Joe but by the time I called the office it was closed. I checked my status and it said accepted and I also was issued a UCLA ID number which I used to create my username. I can't believe this! I am counting down the minutes and seconds until the office reopens so that I can call and confirm that this is really REAL. The CDU/UCLA program is definetely my number 1 choice! OMG OMG OMGGG somebody pinch me** I will keep you all posted. Best of luck to all those that are waiting to hear back. Keep the faith!

p.s. this is my first post on sdn 🙂

Had a feeling.. any current students know how much waitlist movement there is? I know there's some crossover between DGSOM/PRIME/Drew acceptees so depending on what those individuals students' goals and preferences are, a few spots are bound to open up come April 30th.

If you're currently holding onto multiple UCLA acceptances I would like to gently encourage you to make up your mind sooner than later pls 😀 😀 😀
 
Hi everyone, current 3rd year in the program! I am here to answer any questions that I can and dispel any rumors that may be floating around about our program. For those of you waiting, keep those fingers crossed, the list can move slowly but there is always a chance. I was not accepted until early June so I understand the anxiety but just keep believing!! Congrats to all of you guys who have gone through the application cycle! I'm getting ready for the 2016-2017 cycle, and have a few questions:

1.) I can't seem to find CDU in the MSAR. UCLA- Geffen shows up, but not CDU. Do you know why this is?

2.) Are there current stats for the last few classes at CDU? Gpa and MCAT scores?

I think CDU is considered to be part of UCLA Geffen for purposes of the MSAR. The stats for all these programs combined I believe are incorporated into DGs entry in the MSAR. I have never seen separate stats for accepted applicants of CDU. There will be a separate place to designate UCLA DG, PRIME and/or CDU for the AMCAS. If you are deciding whether or not to apply based off your stats, I would say the strength of your statements, demonstrated commitments and LORs in regards to underserved populations are probably more important for your candidacy at this school.
