Well according to the waitlist presentation, the overwhelming majority of waitlisted students currently have an acceptance somewhere else. So it won't be that high a number next year. Sadly I seem to be one of the few that slipped through the cracks.

ACCEPTED JUST NOW!!!!! First MD acceptance, non-priority waitlist. Interviewed back in December, waitlisted beginning of Janurary. Sent in an update and letter of intent not too long ago. Don't give up hope guys!

Interviewed 10/14. Got accepted off waitlist yesterday, and first MD acceptance. Have no idea what waitlist I was on. I'll see everyone in August!

Hey all, I got pulled off the waitlist! Wanted to pop in and let everyone know that movement might still be happening since Jill's yearly "Movement has stopped" email still hasn't been sent. It's hard, but try to not give up hope! I honestly thought it was over for me too.

anyone know if rush ranks students? also, how does honors work the first two years? is it based on a pre-set cutoff, or is it based on the class averages?
 
Man I gotta say, either this sdn group is not representative of our class year, or we have a pretty freaking passive (potentially gunnery?) quiet class rush has ever seen. I hope it's just that we have better things to do than be on sdn rather than an "I got mine, you get yours" mentality.

Gosh I hope its not the latter since Rush prides itself in the whole family atmosphere.
 
I just wanted to say that I recently got off the waitlist, so there's still hope! I had never expected the phone call considering my credentials in comparison to others I had met on second-look day - so keep sending Rush those update and intent letters! 🙂

See? All posts are "I'm here for my own gain" questions -_- lots of value demand, not enough value contribution. I heard through the grapevine that it's h/p/f, and that honors is top 15% for what it's worth..

From the few people I know at Rush, the grading system is rarely ever mentioned among students. I don't think many people are really gunning for honors, its more of a plus if you happen to excel in that particular class.

That being said, every school that has a p/f system likes to brag about it and claim that it fosters collaboration. In the end, your grades will matter despite the system you are in since schools often keep track of how well you do in your classes for honors societies and awards either way. While honors societies like AOA likely use your 3rd year grades, the school still must nominate those students and they are definitely going to care if you did well during yrs 1 and 2.

In my opinion, life is a lot easier and more rewarding if we all work together and stop worrying about individual awards and padding our stats.

Current M3, honors cutoff during first 2 years was usually 90% on exams, but there were some exams M2 year where it would be lower (like the last block exam of the year, in which we were primarily studying for step 1!!). Main advice is to definitely enjoy M1 year, as that free time you have disappears quick when you start M2 year. I think I went out more M1 year than I did any year during undergrad haha. Wish you guys the best of luck!
 
I still haven't received my loan information for this year.. I contacted them a while back and they said I had everything in.
Anyone else in the same boat?

Mine was a bit later (like early june), but when I called 2 weeks ago they said I was all set and to just keep an eye on my student email as they were supposed to be finalizing it soon. Nothing yet, and its making me nervous that school starts in a month and without loans i have no way to pay.

Ahh yes same hear.. and because I'm signing a very spendy lease and need to absolutely know I'm getting the money that I think I'm getting....

Yep. At least it makes me feel better that we're both in the same situation. I think I remember reading somewhere that they may push back your having to pay tuition pending the finalizing of your FA packet, but that doesn't apply to landlords.

I ended up calling them last Thursday since I hadn't heard back since early June- had a couple errors in my forms they never told me about until I called. Nevertheless, I fixed them and back in the waiting game.
