2015-2016 Tufts University Application Thread

Hey everyone, was accepted earlier today after being deferred late November! Didn't expect to hear before May!

Awesome!
Sounds like I'm getting rejected since I interviewed here at the beginning of this month and haven't heard anything.....

Is that as far as goes?!!! No more calls for the February interviews?

Probably should've posted this a while ago, but I didn't hear for MANY months after submitting my secondary. I sent an update as a "Hail Mary" in late January and I got an interview within 30 min of uploading it to the portal (at 9:30 pm), interviewed, and was accepted within a week and a half of my interview date. Not sure if there are interview dates left, but can't hurt to nudge them at this point. not much to lose.

Wow that seems exceptional. Congrats!! Just out of curiosity-- what kind of update did you send? (new publication, new grades, etc.?)

i did! i interviewed october 31 and got deferred mid-december. that deferral became a waitlist in the first couple days of may. i was accepted at the end of may.

i dont know about anyone else--it's never really come up in conversation. only my closest friends know i was waitlisted. and now the whole internet knows. haha. it's definitely possible that there are others, because i know of several people who applied in my cycle, were admitted and went somewhere else.

for the record, it doesn't feel like it matters much once you're there--they always publish stats for every test and i'm usually right on the average or just slightly above. i've never been so happy to be average in my life!!

Do you mind sharing your stats when you applied? Mcat, gpa, is/os etc. thanks for the encouragement!

Was a 2/2 person as well
Don't lose hope. This is actually pretty early for acceptances to be sent out. During our interview day, they said we were likely to hear back within the first two weeks of March. I believe that the acceptances that occurred this early are very few, and that most will occur later.

Hey everyone! Did any 1/28 people hear yet? I know on interview day we were grouped into the last week of February/first week of March decisions. Good luck people!

Live like 15 mins away from the place and still waiting for II from Tufts... any chance at this point?

my MCAT was a 34, my GPA was 3.9ish and i'm from maine. i wouldn't put too much stock in stats though...it's crazy getting to this point and meeting people that got in with lower stats or had perfect grades and didn't get in

Same boat, although just a tiny bit farther away in CA 😛 I think the general consensus is that there will be just a few more waves of II's going out if any, but not having been rejected yet means one of those may be yours, so keep ya head up

Do we really think there are more interviews to be had? I haven't been rejected either yet but I had completely given up hope despite this being my top choice.

While the odds of getting an II are slim at this point, the least we can do is remain hopeful (or resigned to it, whichever makes it easier). You paid your money's worth, so might as well remain in contention. Withdrawing your application is a completely acceptable thing to do considering the stress most of us are under with the waiting, but I feel like remaining optimistic until the last second is all I can really do at this point!

Realistically, though, you are probably correct. I just try my best to ignore it as much as I can 😛

It was one new grade (Biochem) and the fact that I'm presenting a poster at a research conference! didn't know if it was worthy of an update but literally just wanted to remind them I existed haha

if we haven't received a call, i'm assuming wailisted or post-interview rejection? early feb interviewee
