It is a drop.. Haven't gotten any Bs so far. But also haven't gotten any A+. It's worth the same credit but still will show A+ on transcript. I'm in an MS for biotechnology concentration in Biodefense at Hopkins
In the case of your situation and having a medical (at least imo) related masters, you are continuing a trend of excellence in the program. I wouldn't view it as a drop really. It is a drop.. Alright cool. This is my dream school as I'm sure it's many others posting here. Fingers crossed for everyoneIn the case of your situation and having a medical (at least imo) related masters, you are continuing a trend of excellence in the program. I wouldn't view it as a drop really.
It's most likely because you are a reapplicant. I know you were having issues last year getting your letter of approval to apply, hopefully that went better this year. I'm sure it will all work out this year and hopefully we'll be matriculating into class next year. Keep your head up and good luck once your interview comes through! This is the first year they've done it. What it means is that I wasn't high enough to get an interview outright. So believe me, not having one is not a bad thing. What it indicates is that my file review is complete, and I was not rejected.
So if you were lower or higher than this, you probably would either know you aren't going, or already have an interview invite. The other possibility is that your file isn't reviewed yet, which I think is most likely for a lot of people. My review process took a little over a month by the way.
OMG!!! A "B"???!!! from Johns Hopkins????!!! I don't know how you can sleep at night. Oh, the shame. I will try to block out the image from my mind from now until forevermore...Looking like I'm getting an A, A+, and B in 3 of my masters classes. Will the B look badly?
That was sarcasm BTW. A "B" from a masters program is great. Don't stress the little stuff. You're in great shape IMO.OMG!!! A "B"???!!! from Johns Hopkins????!!! I don't know how you can sleep at night. Oh, the shame. I will try to block out the image from my mind from now until forevermore...
Haha I had quite the subpar uGPA also from Hopkins. So well see. That was sarcasm BTW. A "B" from a masters program is great. Don't stress the little stuff. You're in great shape IMO.
Maybe you could contact the committee? It's the most frustrating part of the application, waiting on the LOE's...Committee letter was supposed to be in this week....it's now Friday and still no letter. That is the last thing I need in. This is so frustrating. It's getting later and later I hope I'm not too late
The fact that they're calling today makes me hopeful but since I just got that update saying they had to wait and see I feel I probably have a bit longer haha.Just got an interview invite an hour ago! First one. It's nice that the silence has been broken finally!
Congrats!! And same! Just got an interview, too. App was complete on 7/31Just got an interview invite an hour ago! First one. It's nice that the silence has been broken finally!

October!Congratulations! When is your interview for?
I remember last year it taking a week for profiles to be loaded (which is probably what he said) before I could log in to schedule.did anyone try scheduling their medical exam? I called Mr. Pace yesterday and I tried to log into that website, but it's not letting me.
I think I heard him saying that I need to wait like a week or so to log in... or did i hear that wrong?
Anyone experiencing the same problem?
Interviews are on Thursdays that I see on my list, I don't see any August dates though. I just got my invite today for Mid October too, very excited! So is Tuesday the invite day? The first invites went out on Tues. 8/4. Any other patterns that others know about? Would rather mark it on the calendar than check back here every day.

Be yourself and try not to stress. The interview day is great!Interview Invite for mid October earlier today! My first one as well! Application complete email received on 8/10. If anyone has any advice for interview day it would be greatly appreciated!
You will recieve a second email once it's unsder review. That's at least what they did for meHey guys! Congrats to everyone who has already received a II. I just want to clarify a few things. I emailed my admissions counsellor after my last LOR was sent in to confirm that they had everything. She emailed me back saying that my admissions file is complete and ready to be sent out to review. Will I get another email when it is actually under review or do you think they sent it to be reviewed already?
Thanks in advance

My confirmation email told me that my file was under reviewThanks! About how long after the confirmation email did your file go under review?
When you register through DoDMERB for the physical, they will send you the locations of the clinical offices that you have to contact to set up your general physical exam and any other required appointments (i.e. vision and hearing). They will choose clinics that are close to where you live. So no, you do not necessarily have to be in Bethesda.Does the physical (DoDMERB) have to be in Bethesda, or can it be done in anywhere?
Even some October interviewers last year we're wait listed so you are correct.Hello...
I'm planning on submitting my secondary tonight after receiving it on the 08/25. They have all my other materials (LORs as well). Jw if I'm complete by tomorrow, will I most likely be in contention for an II in November at this point in the cycle?
Last year people interviewing November were being placed on the wait list...which although moves quite well, seemed a bit early for November interviewers.
True! I should have clarified. Last year in October Navy spots were full. Not true of Army and Air Force. On the other hand, there's current students interviewed and accepted (not wait listed) mid December even.
Hopefully a current student can chime in with a full answer, but you are active duty while at USUHS so any travel would both require leave and going through the country clearance process depending on where you are going. Also unless during an established break it's going to be hard to get much time to travel anywhere during med school. Thanks for the quick response. Another question I had was how does travel work for USUHS students? I'm not sure if anyone can clarify this but I have a lot of family out of the country and if I wanted to visit them at some point, how does being a USU student affect that?

What's the farthest you can travel without a pass for leave? 250 miles?
Yes. I have heard of several who receives those questions last cycle and this. If you are below their average MCAT accepted they will ask that. It means you are probably on the line.Has anybody else received an email, or heard of anyone receiving an email from USUHS that asks you to answer these questions:
"How did you study for the MCAT? "
"Do you plan to retake it again?"
Thank you!! Does anyone have any advice on how to answer this question, or know of a thread where people discussed it? I feel very much in-between a rock and a hard place with this question.. Not sure if I should provide an explanation for my subpar score, or if that will look like I'm making excuses.. Let me know 🙂 and good luck everyone!Yes. I think I would just be as honest as possible about any mitigating circumstances and outline how you prepared for the test. Considering what's at stake, you might consider retaking if you feel you could improve your score. A free education with pay on the side would more than offset the cost of the test and hard work. I'm in a similar boat. I have an interview here, but I may have to retake MCAT if (God forbid) I'm not offered an acceptance. I missed the HPSP cutoff by one point in one category....Thank you!!
