I thought the SF86 was THE form for a security clearance. How much more extensive can it get?If you read the welcome letter .pdf right above the sf86 on the USUHS interview page, it has a phone number for the security office if you have any questions, maybe they will be able to help you? If nothing else, just explain your situation on the attached explanation page. If you are accepted you have to fill out a more thorough security form anyway.
That is the form. You are correct. I'd still follow the above advice though and call the security office. You may need to complete it more thoroughly later but I don't think your situation should be a problem.I thought the SF86 was THE form for a security clearance. How much more extensive can it get?
We got our papers back in the afternoon and they told us to keep them because we would have to fill out another one online later if we are accepted, maybe they meant the SF86 again, just online?
I called the security office, and this is what they basically told me. I can bring the SF86 with missing information to the interview, but if I get accepted I will need that information to matriculate. That is the form. You are correct. Pretty much the case. It's a system called JPAS, which handles all DoD clearance processes these days. I think the purpose turning in a completed SF86 here is to screen for red flags in your history before offering an acceptance, but I'm just venturing a guess.
The old SF86 (paper version) technically has all of the same fields, but it is outdated. That's why you have to fill out another one. If you happened to be somewhere without access to the electronic version you would still fill out the outdated paper one because it has never been superseded. Since we are obviously all in areas with connectivity, as mentioned the paper version is to prescreen. This is much easier than getting everyone into the clearance system that has an interview, since many won't need the electronic version later (or already have clearances)I called the security office, and this is what they basically told me. What is it like staying with a student host?
I got this status a few months ago. No interview. SorryWell. I got the email about my app being viewed favorably, but not being offered an interview yet. Anyone gotten this status and ended up getting an interview this cycle yet?
Are there any 9/10 or 9/17 interviewees left who haven't heard anything? Has anyone who interviewed been rejected?
I got this message. I sent an email asking for further explanation of this status. I got an encouraging reply and was offered and interview about a week later.Well. That makes me feel better, knowing I'm not the only one.Interviewed 9/10. Still staring at my phone incessantly.

This is from the USUHS "What you need to know" brochure (page 8)So I did try to search on this topic but found these forum search tools to be not super helpful, so I'm just going to ask away.
I'm about halfway into my first semester of post bacc at a traditional California state school and doing fine so far. What's killing me is the drive every day (approx 6-7 hours a week) and the course load while working full time. I'm considering going to some of the CCs very near to where I work and live, saving loads on the drive and perhaps only taking two classes a semester instead of three.
So I know everyone tends to have their own very strong opinion about the CC versus traditional uni but I want to know if the USU has their own opinion on the matter? I'm still so early on in this process, but if I want to be a contender there, I'd like to not shoot myself in the foot if they're dead set against CCs traditionally.
Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks.

Yes on 10/15, interviewed on 9/10. Good luck to everyone!Congrats on the new acceptances! Has anyone been accepted for Army yet?
Yes, as a prior service Airman I was all about the AF, and was happy to get a spotOf those that have been accepted, were any of you applying Air Force as your top choice?
does anyone ever feel haunted by the thought that your interview may not have gone the best it could have?
Absolutely! My interviews weren't bad or anything, but after I left I was facepalming and thinking "Ah! I should have said this!"does anyone ever feel haunted by the thought that your interview may not have gone the best it could have?
I'm sorry to hear that. I'm not sure, but I suspect you could get some feedback if you asked. Were you rejected pre- or post-interview?Now that I've been rejected, does anyone know if they will give you feedback on your application if you request it? Congrats and good luck to everyone who has been accepted thus far!
Sorry to hear that as well. They do if you request it, but it takes about 6-8 weeks. It's worth it.Now that I've been rejected, does anyone know if they will give you feedback on your application if you request it? Congrats and good luck to everyone who has been accepted thus far!
I was previously told yes. However when I asked for feedback after last year it took almost two months and all it said was to try again and get at least one new letter of recommendation. I followed that advice, completed 10 more credits with a 4.0 and added some extracurriculars. Haven't even gotten an interview this cycle. Now that I've been rejected, does anyone know if they will give you feedback on your application if you request it? Did you actually get substantial feedback?Sorry to hear that as well. They do if you request it, but it takes about 6-8 weeks. It's worth it.

I'm really glad you got good feedback but that's super frustrating to hear. I had to ask for it about 8 times and when I got it, it was 2 sentences.Yes, it was a lot of good information. Issues of concern, areas that were fine, plus what I could do to improve this year's application. It was about a page long and had a lot of specific information. It helped me plug the holes in my application this year, and to know what I needed to address for issues that I couldn't realistically change in a year.

Makes me wonder if not receiving and interview this year has to do with me not fixing things that they assume someone told me to fix.

n=1, but I took my exams on the same day in September and I heard back in almost exactly a monthFor those of you who have gone through the DoDMERB process already: how long did you have to wait after your medical exam to hear back?
