So my school is very very very behind on the committee letter and its taking forever for it to be submitted :bang:
In the Secondary Email that I received, it says that all the materials including letters of rec have to be in within the 30 calendar days. However, in the instructions on the actual secondary, it says letters of rec are not included in the 30 day period. My 30 days expire in 3 days and I've finished everything else on the secondary except my letters. Will I be ok?

Tips for the MMI?
Should I bring something to write on, like a notepad?

High scores on Big 5-style tests on extraversion and openness/kindness are positively correlated with acceptances with the MMI.

I say spend as much time as possible with good friends, beforehand. And come up with some good questions for the Dean. That's what I'm doing.

(Am getting nervous too.)

Just be calm, be courteous, be YOURSELF. For the dean's meeting, really try to focus on your strong points and how they relate to davis's mission.

The MMI is tons of fun! very low stress....watch the video posted a few pages back!

Is there a dean's meeting? I don't see it on the schedule.
I kept seeing it mentioned in other years' Davis threads. One of the MMI stations, maybe? Or maybe not!

Edit: Wait you have a schedule?
Edit edit: BTW, did anyone get a student host invitation? Nothing ever showed up so I just booked a Best Western nearby.

So the Dean has a brief one-on-one interaction with each interviewee?

I didn't get any student host program info either, but I sent them a message through the portal. They said that they send out student host information the week before your interview.

Hello. I have some question. Currently I received confirmation e-mail from UC that they received my APP about three weeks ago.
However, UC Davis and UC Riverside did not send any confirmation about receiving my application. Does anyone know what might be happening?

Have you checked the Portals? No email confirmation from UCR but this is what UCD sent after Secondary Submission.

Congrats! It's safe to say my app has been put off to the side now (similar LizzyM, competed a day before).

Hard to say, the process isn't exactly linear. Well... I suppose some schools may be more linear-like than others, but I digress.

Looking at UCSD, I thought I was put aside after I saw some August candidates receiving IIs (I was complete in July), but I ended up receiving one in the next batch (to my surprise).

Still waiting on Davis' secondary, but hey, if they already know they don't want me, there's some savings to be had

Thank you! And for what it's worth, I submitted my secondary on 8/12 (and wasn't complete until more than a week later, due to a hold on my committee letter), so it's possible that my file was initially reviewed before it was actually complete. Don't count yourself out!

complete 7/30 and still no word. no II yet from anywhere. trying to be happy for others at school when they get interviews, but honestly i'm starting to feel really down. as much as i want to be happy for other people here, it's so hard to see people who were complete after me getting interviews.
Makes u wonder if there's just something wrong with your application. Davis, you are my very top choice--please give me a chance to win you over!

+1 definitely feeling no love here too! Maybe they have something against the Bay Area...

Just got placed on the Interview-Waitlist. UC Davis was the UC I had the best shot at, too, so I guess I can say goodbye to staying in California for medical school.

Do you mind telling us when you were complete?

Don't lose hope you just might get off that list. That is great news though I was complete around that same time and still haven't heard anything so maybe they'll get back to me! Mind sharing your stats??

I know that UC Davis is a long shot for me, but I still have a sliver of hope. It helps that I already have several interview invites! Anyway, 3.4 GPA and 35 MCAT.

If you don't mind sharing, How do you know if you have been put on the interview wait-list?

Still no secondary... WTF Davis? My stats are above yours!

Is it game over already? T_T
Keep your head up! Davis occasionally reaches out to students on a funny timeline (I know current students who interviewed late Feb and were accepted) and they do have a pretty set list of things they like to see in applicants (other than metrics). Are you IS or OOS?
