On my interview day there were 2 groups. The first group started at 845 and ended at 1. Second group started at 1045 and ended at 3.

i dropped my date in february a few days ago. it was probably nabbed, but there should be more - keep checking! or maybe send a correspondence through the portal stating your preference for a different date should one open up?

I'm interviewing at Davis at the end of this month. I'm wondering if there is a student host program? I'm from the Bay, so it's only a 2 hour drive for me, but I'd like to be able to stay with a student to really get to know the school. Is there a place where I can sign up for a host, or do I need to contact the admissions office directly? Thanks!

They will email you with an opportunity to sign up for a host about a week before the interview. It felt a little scrambled because they only gave us a day to respond.

I was on the interview waitlist fairly early (around September), but got invited back in December for a February interview.

Show your honest enthusiasm for the school, demonstrate care for your fellow interviewees, and know why you want to be a doctor. It's an MMI so you can't really prepare! Just be a person who wants to be a student at Davis SOM! And good luck. 🙂
 
Does anyone know how many interviews and acceptances are given out each year? Thanks!
 
I've been on the interview waitlist since November. How likely is it for me to get an interview before their last session in early March? (I know the chances are slim, but I wanted to ask anyway).

I hope not because I interview on the fourth, it is my understanding that they accept a certain number of applicants from each interview date.

What kind of scholarships or grants are available at UC Davis? I am scheduled to interview at Davis next week, but I am thinking about cancelling my interview in lieu of my recent acceptance at UCLA. The only reason I would go to Davis over UCLA is if I get a nice scholarship to go to Davis. Is Davis known for giving out generous scholarships? Or would I most likely not get much in terms of scholarships from Davis?

I don't know everything there is to know but I've talked with the financial aid people quite a bit this cycle. Everyone who wants aid apparently gets a minimum 10k grant the first year and 5k the years after. The grants can be significantly higher depending on your financial situation, but Davis does require your parents to be on your FAFSA, which doesn't help many of us.

There are also a few merit scholarships that cover all of tuition+a little extra. But they do tend to get this info out late (according to them). Last year they sent out offers in April (which to me sounds normal). They hope to get them out sooner this year.

If I've made any mistakes in reporting this, someone please let me know! It's been a while since I called, and who knows, things may change.

Is it a general consensus that we're supposed to hear back 2 weeks after the interview? I have an interview on March 11.

Yes, if you are accepted Dr. Sousa will call two weeks later. They are pretty good about being on top of these calls.
 
Anyone know if there much hope at financial aid if you're pulled off the waitlist?
 
For those that interviewed on 2/5/16 have you heard back? anyone get the coveted call?...I'm still waiting to hear back 🙁
 
I got wait listed. They won't accept anyone from the wait list till earliest April 30th 🙁(((
 
Waitlisted as well. Super bummed...hope I make it off the waitlist. Anyone know how the waitlist movement is like with Davis?
 
@trailerparkjesus87 The admissions office told me that in normal years about 50% of waitlisted candidates receive offers. However, they said that last year there was far less movement.

How do you know if you were wait listed? Did they email you post-interview?
 
Who gets interviews for the track program ACE-PC? Is it only people that were accepted or do people that got wait listed get an invitation too?
 
Hi everyone,

I'm currently waitlisted here and would love to know if there's anything I can do to get off the list... I know the email states there won't be any movement until after May 1st, but I'm not sure if I can still add additional letters of rec / udpate letters BEFORE that date, just in case they review my file....

Does anyone have any suggestions?
