Yo guys don't give up hope. Just received a secondary today! I must've been verified at least a month and a half ago.

It's kind of surprising to see so many people getting secondaries here. Maybe they're easing up on the screening?

I think I remember someone saying that an admissions staff member said UCSF was was going to give more secondaries this year than usual, but I don't know for sure.

I got verified on the 1st of August.....is it still too early to be expecting one?

I think it depends. During the 2013-2014 cycle, I was verified on 08/07. I received the confirmation email and the secondary invite from UCSF on the same day. But then again that was two years ago.

My primary with them was complete 7/21 and i received my secondary on 8/17 and i've heard they send out secondaries for several more months still. I was so excited to see that their secondary didn't have any essays. And then i selected the PRIME program...

Is anyone else's picture not showing up with their submitted secondary? It says the page is complete but the picture I uploaded won't show up...

The same thing is happening with me. Has anyone else had this problem/know how to fix it? Thank you!

I just submitted it assuming it was fine on their end. I think if it says "complete," it's safe to assume that your picture was in fact uploaded. I checked that it was under 2 mb just to be sure, though.

I wouldn't worry about it, given that it's not just you who's having this problem. Must be a system glitch. If it says that section is complete, then it's complete.

Submitted my secondary for MD/PRIME today! Dream school, please be good to me~~ 🙈🙈

submitted my secondary but my photo would not show up on the secondary even though it says "section complete." Were you guys able to see the picture you uploaded? I used jpg and definitely was not larger than 4mb

I think this is an issue for everyone (see above). Must be a system glitch. If it says that section is complete, then it's complete.

woo hoo i got my secondary last night. was going to lose hope but i got it 🙂

Non-traditional; working full time; research 6+years
BCPM GPA 3.3/cGPA 3.3/Graduate GPA 3.9

Hey so I undertook a yearlong engineering design project this past year on a topic slightly related to medicine. My team and I did well on it and ended up with a prototype at the end. Is that something I could mention in the UCSF secondary question? I'm not sure how to elaborate on more with my existing activities so I'd rather go with new activities.

Incoming M-1 here! Let me know if you have any questions 🙂 Best of luck to you all!!
Congrats! You've got to be stoked.

I had a few quick questions about the UCSF degree programs and I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction. The PRIME and JMP programs look really cool, but I know that they are exceptionally hard to land. Does applying for them and then not getting them hurt your chances at getting into the regular MD program? I'm asking because I think the public health / allopathic medicine intersection is super interesting but I also wouldn't want to remove any options.

Typing this out I realize that its a very weirdly esoteric question but that first page of the secondary got me thinking! Sorry if this has already been asked in the forum and thanks for the help!

Have any OOS applicants with a LizzyM <73 received a secondary? I don't expect one yet since they are only up to early July, but knowing someone with a similar profile received one would be encouraging. LizzyM 71-73 (can't decide with new MCAT), nontraditional, and URM. I would love to join the PRIME program!

I was verified 6/12 and got the secondary 7/27 but I don't think they're giving out secondaries strictly on a rolling basis since I know some who were verified after me got their secondary earlier...
((LizzyM 68, nontrad ORM, OOS but Cal alum))

Not sure if you're posting on the wrong thread (pretty sure the PRIME program is for UCLA, not UCSF), but my LizzyM is 70, verified 6/17, and I got the UCSF secondary 8/13.

OP is referring to the PRIME program at UCSF. All UC's have a PRiME program. UCLA is the only school with a separate app for PRIME.

LizzyM 66-70, OOS, non-trad - received secondary. Go for it!

Almost exactly ditto this. Maybe my secondary came slightly earlier. 7/23.

Just submitted my secondary for the PRIME program. Show me some love UCSF!

So would it be safe to assume one was screened out if they submitted to UCSF June 21 (already verified) with a 73 LizzyM and have no received anything? I think it's pretty safe.

just received secondary today.... it seems to me that there isn't much to answer. (Besides the prompt of 500 words asking for addtional info on activties if necessary). What if you feel that there isn't anything specific to add ? ? I know I should probably add something, otherwise the school is not learning anything new from me.....

Secondary not received - 🙁 primary processed/verified 7/02 Only school that I am still waiting for the secondary.

finally got the secondary. I had thought I had been screened out since it had been so long D:

Did you read the posts above yours at all or is it like nah, lemme just post a question without reading what others are saying

There is no evidence the screening proceeds linearly based on completion date. You can think what you want but you are not out until you are out. People get secondaries in January. But you can go ahead and think you've lost already, sure.

SECONDARY FINALLY!! I guess they don't completely hate people from their partner undergrad...
OOS, Verified 7/16

Would it be a good idea to talk more in depth about my visits to my parents' home country and how that added perspective to my desire to pursue medicine for the activities prompt for MD only? I only mentioned trips there in passing in my personal statement.
