I'm going to chime in and try and get us back on track--after all, we might well be colleagues some day (and I'm older, and we all know us old folks like to interject when things get derailed, so bear with me...).
Everyone's got a point, but no one is really going about it the most ideal way. It is neurotic to worry about the precise day of verification, as there's no evidence it means anything. That said, everyone on here is a *little* neurotic, just by virtue of the application process (myself included). More importantly, a lot of "our chosen profession" is helping others cope through stressful times (our own, our colleagues, and most of all our patients/their families). It's nice that avgn wanted to not feed into the anxiety, but perhaps a better way of doing that would be to have stated "sure, got verified on xyz, but I wouldn't let that alarm you one way or another, as evidence shows its a non-linear process,. There's hope yet!" Point being: it creates a more welcome space for a two-way conversation, and that's really what a lot of this is about. To that end, though pointing out "the error of the ways" is good, to "attack an attack" is not-so-good. So with that said, let's all agree that things went down a little funky here, let's take a moment, regroup and get this show on the road. There are enough battles ahead, and I for one would rather not (have us) waste energy on self-damaging scrimmages.
