I thought you had to be accepted by both programs? I could be confusing this with another school though

I think everyone who gets a secondary has the option of applying to all of them, but thereafter they are separate admission processes.

Haha I know what you mean. I read another post on SDN about how a lot of schools have given out 50% of their interview slots by now, but I doubt that's the case with UCSF. In any case, let's keep our fingers crossed 😉

No, it was confusing for me too. The programs are separate from each other-- the JMP just does clinical rotations at UCSF in the last 2 years. I was under that impression as well even up until I got the email 😛
 
Received secondary today! Verified 7/29!!

Don't know if I still want to apply though 🙁

D'awww I'm flattered! I don't have a clear first choice in mind yet (though as of now, my heart's yearning for Pritzker and Vandy); I really want to see where I "fit" in the most, and hope to narrow down my choices after decisions are made. I used to handmade jewelry on Etsy, haha, but I've pulled my stuff off that market and onto my own site.

But back on topic, I'm beyond excited to visit UCSF on 9/24! Will I be seeing anyone?!
 
Just got a secondary. Verified 7/31... Such a long wait, should I even bother submitting? GPA 3.93, MCAT 508
 
Seeing all the II's from those who were complete in September. Congrats!

Quick question: If I was complete 7/27 for MSTP and still have no II, is it safe to assume I have been passed over?
 
What are current students' thoughts on the boards at UCSF? I'd also love to hear input from other people who have any insight into this.

I just received a secondary yesterday as well and was verified on 6/22 (although my MCAT score didn't come in until 8/18). I will be submitting. If you are really interested in the school (and can afford one more application fee), I would say yes, submit. The only thing you know for sure is that if you don't submit you have no chance at an interview.

It's not safe to assume anything about this process. Things don't necessarily move linearly.
 
For those who have received secondaries, was the secondary invite the first communication you received from UCSF? Or was there some kind of confirmation of "primary application received"? Thanks!

Congrats! May I ask when your stats and when you submitted secondary?

Did ucsf do a complete email after submitting the secondary? I just got a secondary submitted notification
 
In case some of y'all are still sittin' on your hands waiting for that fateful UCSF secondary, here's some hope: just got one from here literally a few minutes ago.
AMCAS verified 8/5.

And I thought my @$$ was done with secondaries, dayum, pero dayum.

Seems like I'm a couple weeks away still. Verified 8/13 and ucsf added on 8/18
 
Sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm having trouble figuring it out....
If you apply to US-Prime are you automatically considered for the normal MD program as well or do you need to submit two applications?

When you receive the secondary, you can add on the PRIME option as well (or any of the other programs). I don't think there any options to submit them separately.

Secondary received 7/28, submitted and marked as complete 7/29. Pretty sure I just received a secondary submitted email--because if everything is in (letters etc) then you already know you are complete...

LizzyM around 70ish, maybe lower? I'm a non trad student with a deep personal story.

I feel like there haven't been many IIs here so far? Just lots of secondaries?

May I ask when you submitted the primary app?
 
Secondary received today, verified 8/7. I am glad it is so short! Well, compared to most secondaries anyway.

I just read this whole thread and am still wondering what the screen criteria is. Anyone get more insight in the time that has passed?
