OOS II just now!

They emailed me a specific date, does anyone know what will happen if I click the reschedule button?

Will it show me other dates (and save mine) or just submit a change request? If it is the latter, I don't want to click it. 🙂

Thanks!
Hey 🙂 if you request to be rescheduled they will call you several days later with other options

Thanks.

I think I will just stick with my December date then - so far out!

II around 6 pm tonight! Interviewing on 11/20 as well! OOS and Lizzy M 74.
Complete 8/24 and payment processed 9/9.

Just wondering, for y'all who are OOS applicants, what made you apply to Colorado?

I applied to mostly East Coast schools -- Colorado was the furthest west I applied, but I visited for spring break and stayed with my friend who is a Denver local, and it was amazing so I decided to send the app in a moment of passion haha.

I'm from Illinois, undergrad in Ohio, but my family and I went to Colorado every year for most of my childhood, and I really love it out there. I love the outdoors and it would be amazing to live in a place where you can actually going hiking and skiing without having to get on an airplane or drive for several hours.

Oh you'll still have to drive several hours but it's worth it at least! Skiing on a weekend out here usually involves 4.5 hours of driving and occasionally, up to 10. I70 is so bad that I go in with a big group and lease a house in the mountains for the whole season so we can avoid the morning ski traffic.

Haha trust me, when your only options are paying thousands of dollars to fly across the country to Colorado and stay in a lodge or driving all the way to Wisconsin to go "skiing", driving 4.5 hours doesn't sound so bad.

Anyone with an interview so far care to share their experience? Thanks!

Hello. The interview group I was with was very small (16) and only consisted of IS applicants. The interviews that I had were not at all stressful or intimidating. It was actually really enjoyable because I felt that the interviewers were truly getting to know me and not just trying to put me on the spot. It was a diverse set of interviewers so be prepared to answer from all angles, but honestly just be yourself, thats what I think they were looking for...

On this topic... You may want to be careful on what you say about the geographical location. I have heard they are "wanting more than just people who want to ski." Just a tip...

Yeah I'm sure that's not exactly what they want to hear 😛 I doubt I'll get an interview anyways, though.

Complete 8/24 and havent heard back. Am I pretty much done here? OOS.

No. You haven't even been complete a month and a half. I'm sure many interviews still have to go out. Relax. Patience is a virtue.

I guess so 🙂. But seeing people who were complete after me receive an invite makes me think otherwise

I hope not for my sake! I was complete 9/28 🙁
You were only complete 2 days ago, you have plenty of time!! In my case I feel like they've already read my application but decided to move on.

Is there anyone else who was assigned a 12/5 interview invite was told that the date was a typo? They just informed me a week after I purchased nonrefundable package of flights, hotel and a rental car...

There goes hundreds of more dollars down the drain ):

tell them that. Maybe they might give you that interview slot. (its worth a try at least?)
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Believe me. I tried. Apparently 12/5 is for high school senior interviews for their undergraduate program. I didn't even know they held interviews for that...

I was also rescheduled to a different date as there are no interview dates.

I am sorry to hear that, did you book through a company like Orbitz? What do you plan on doing?

Expedia. I plan on taking a random weekend getaway trip to Denver now lol.

Have you tried calling the airline?

Even if Expedia won't refund it, the airline may reschedule you. Same with the hotel and car rental companies.

For the hotel, call and say "Sorry, I didn't realize you had to be 18 to book a room, I'm only 17" or say you're 20 if the age is 21. They'll cancel the reservation for you.

or you could try threatening them with a credit card dispute. That usually makes them much more conciliatory pretty fast.

Last year people that were complete when I was got interviews in January. Were their odds as good? No. But until you get the axe you have not been passed over. As is the case at other schools, your application will be read many times and at any one of those instances they may choose to interview you.

I just got an email from this school saying I didn't declare a state of residence on amcas!? What the heck...

Well at least they're looking at your application!!

Hahaha actually they aren't, since I have no state of residence and am not eligible for financial aid without one. I'm a *******. Had to frantically email AAMC and my state school to update the info.

I'm interviewing here in a week! Next Friday, to be exact. I'm a little nervous since other applicants have already interviewed at multiple locations but I can't complain.

Can someone who's already interviewed here comment on the types of questions they got, or what they liked most/least about the program?

I'll see you there! So excited!

Just got an II from here, yay! I'm an OOS applicant, complete somewhere around 8/10 as far as I can remember but my fee was processed much later. My LizzyM is 74ish. 🙂
II today! So pumped. OOS, complete 9/10 but marked as paid 9/20. Took the new MCAT but LizzyM about 74-75.
Congrats! What dates where available? If you don't mind sharing.

There is a PDF out there for University of Colorado Boulder premeds for practicing interviews that I looked at when I interviewed at CU Med that ended up pretty close to the real thing so I would search around for that.

As far as my favorite thing about the program so far it is probably the faculty and facilities. Being so new, our facilities are top notch and very advanced. In comparison to other schools I interviewed at CU is orders of magnitude newer, nicer, and advanced which may be insignificant to some but really stands out to me. It feels good to walk into a state of the art teaching facility that is literally in the shadow of COs best hospitals everyday.

As far as faculty the professors have been really top notch. I never took anatomy as an undergrad and was really intimidated by the fact that CU gets through it all in like 9 weeks. Even though we are learning a ton I have found it extremely manageable which I think is evidence of how understandably and logically we are taught the material. Obviously that may (and probably will) change in future blocks but I have really appreciated this 'soft' landing in medical school.

Good luck to everyone hearing tomorrow! About 25 or so people can expect to get a call from Dr Z.

Looks like the airline won't reschedule. Probably will head to Denver for funsies a week before. Thanks for your help and advice though!

Anyway, are we supposed to receive a confirmation e-mail after we confirm the date in the admissions portal?
