Just got a status update to "Decision Pending," but it does not have "Additional Correspondence" tab. Does that mean I've been rejected most likely?
Bottom of what? I think the general consensus is that once you're in process you're actively being reviewed. I know a lot of people who are still in progress, as I was for about 38 years before getting an interview! You should be in good shape. So I think this last week sometime I changed from Progress to Applicant in Process. I have already been accepted to MCW, but would really like to go to UIC since it is my in-state school. Does "Process" mean I have been moved to the bottom? :/

Pre or post interview?
No, that's normal. That means your file will be reviewed at the next meeting of the committee. The bad one is when you get "final decision made" without the additional correspondence tab.Post-interview. Interviewed 1/20 at chicago campus

Rejected.
Anyone know of any indication that the Chicago campus is nearing capacity? I really really want to be placed there and I'm cautiously optimistic as it seems from this thread that there are still some spots left. If I get Chicago then I can finally relax.
I know for a fact that there have been people who have not been in placed at Chicago and had ranked it #1. Then again based on past years' threads this likely doesn't mean it's full yet
Are the sole factors in deciding placement your ranking and availability? For example, I'm from Chicago and my application was pretty centered around wanting to work with Hispanic populations (which I'm assuming there's not much of in UC). Would someone like me be more likely to be placed in Chicago versus someone who has no apparent connections to the city or reasons to be there?
Are you talking about years past or that people haven't gotten Chicago campus despite it being their first preference this cycle?
I really don't know how site placement works and what factors go into it. Obviously if you get in earlier in the cycle you have a better chance of getting what you want.
This cycle
+1I submitted the secondary in November and the portal still shows "applicant in progress." Anyone on the same boat? Should I consider this a rejection?

Oh alright. But dang it's so late lol. Hopefully we all hear back soon.I don't think it's a rejection. They haven't viewed your file yet. I'm in the same boat.
Currently working on pre-enrollment requirements. I know we need to send transcripts but does anyone know if that includes study abroad transcripts? Do I have to call the school I studied abroad at and ask them to send it to UIC?
Crap I hope not...let me know if you find out. I mean my classes for my study abroad are on my home institution transcript...
Same, but I submitted early October.I submitted the secondary in November and the portal still shows "applicant in progress." Anyone on the same boat? Should I consider this a rejection?
Same, but I submitted early October.
I know that this has been mentioned a couple of times, but when is the committee supposed to meet again? I read a couple of posts that referred to Feb 8, but do we know that for sure? Also, for those people that have been accepted already, did your portal change on the same day as the committee meeting, or was it later?
I called and finally got through today. They said that they got slammed this year for "various reasons". They said that they'll get to everyone(eventually... Just not promising when) and everyone will still have an opportunity to be considered to interview.
I was told they are interviewing into April.
Does anyone know what the Hepatitis B form is? Is it the same as the online immunization portal we had to make or is it something separate? If it's separate, where can I find it? Thanks!
Got the CBC email this morning. I have no idea of my addresses before 1998, and I have no way of finding them out, so hopefully that doesn't muck up the background check too much...
You could if you haven't already, though I was told Thur is the day to speak with an adviser about your status. They seemed very nice.Application in progress since JULY - should I consider calling?
Hmm...at my interview they said that the committee meets at the end of every month. Still, I hope it's February 8th because I want to know...badly.I mean, the dean of admissions said Feb 8th. I guess that's as close we'll get to knowing for sure.

Odd indeed! I thought that the general consensus was that they meet on a specific Tuesday or something like that. What did your status change to and when? That's so weird that they would specifically say it's meeting "next Monday"....

That's true. I guess I'll wait for my status to change. I believe "Decision Pending" means they review it at the next meeting. I was told we will hear back in late February.Yeah according to this thread it's the third day of every month. I feel like the dean of admissions or whatever he was would not just randomly get that wrong lol. Now I'm gonna be sad if they don't meet on Monday.
My status changed to Decision Pending today.
Maybe they need to meet more frequently as the cycle goes on.That's so weird that they would specifically say it's meeting "next Monday"....
How long after your interview should the portal change to "Decision Pending"?
Okay it'll be a few days then. Thanks!Interviewed 1/29, changed to decision pending 2/5.
