So I'm still at Decision Pending (1/29 in Chicago) and I was considering calling and asking if they've made a decision on my app, has anyone had any success doing this?

They won't tell you anything, unfortunately.

If you do call in, please report back with info

I called. The guy said that they do status checks on Thursday, so I can call back on Thursday and they'd be able to tell me if a decision had been made. He also said that if a decision had been made, my online status would reflect that.

So that means we've probably been pushed back to the next meeting then? I hope that isn't a bad sign. I'm going to tell myself that it was due to time constraints rather than them just straight up passing over my app and recycling it. Also, anyone know when the next adcom meeting is?

They're generally the third Thursday of the month.

Yeah, it seems that would be the case. If we did get pushed off, I'm giving up any hope I had of attending UIC, because even if I'm accepted eventually my chances of being placed in Chicago were low enough as it was, and to be pushed off till March basically makes those chances non-existent, I think. So Cincinnati, here I come.

Also, I am so freaking mad at myself for forgetting to put that I was an Illinois resident on my AMCAS. I bet I would've been interviewed ages ago.

How could you not? AMCAS won't let you submit it if you don't put your state of residence.

Apparently it does, I didn't put any state of legal residence, I think I must've misunderstood the question. I only found out when Colorado emailed me in like November saying they needed to know my state of legal residence in order to consider my application.

Edit: Actually they have to let you not put a state of legal residence because not everyone has a state of legal residence (international students).

Well I doubt it made much of a difference. Didn't you get an invitation here like three months ago?

I could be wrong, but I think I remember completing a prompt on UIC's secondary app indicating that I was an Illinois resident. Is this incorrect?

I'm almost positive this is the prompt on the app...

"Have you been a resident of Illinois for twelve months prior to your AMCAS application filing date?"

Also, given that you have to give your permanent address, I think they'd realise that you're an Illinois resident.

For the certified profile, where did you guys find the actual OSHA/Standard Precautions Training, Annual HIPAA training, and Respiratory fit test courses? This is pissing me off.

Also freaking out because it showing my measles/mumps and Hep B as overdue. Is this the case for anyone else?

The admissions packet said that the HIPAA, respiratory fit and osha stuff are all done once we've started.

How soon after getting the "Final Decision/Additional Correspondence" update did you guys get the email from them?

Last month the letters were post marked with the Wednesday after the meeting (which would be today) and I got mine that Friday.

yep mines said overdue as well. I also had to get lab reports since they dont accept proof of vaccination for MMR, Hep B, and Chickenpox. Lots of $$ I didnt plan on spending

So I called again today, and the guy I talked to said that it didn't look like a decision had been made on my application at the february meeting, and if I didn't get a decision within the next week (I'm not exactly clear if he meant through the mail or on the portal), then it means I got pushed to the March adcom meeting.

Hi guys. So I got a question for you all. I've been "applicant in process" since the beginning of January. I called in today for a status check and was told by the lady that it looks like a final decision has been made and that I will know what that is within a week. Despite me trying to get her to tell me anything regarding the decision, she said she couldn't. She also said I would get something in the mail. My status in the portal still says "applicant in process." So my question is, if I did get invited for an interview, would I receive an email and status change immediately? If I would, then that pretty much means this is a rejection 🙁

Interview invites are sent via email. Unfortunately, it looks like you have probably been rejected pre-II. 🙁

I, as well, have the status of "applicant in process." Don't they interview through April though?

So interview invites don't get anything in the mail?

The key words here are "final decision." A final decision before an interview only means one thing. Sorry, gdoc. 🙁

Does interviewing within the next two months mean we're most likely getting waitlisted? Inb4 anecdotal stories of one iteration one person getting in when interviewing around this time

I don't know, but it does seem like far fewer people got accepted in February than in past months, so they're obviously slowing down with the acceptances.

Final decision for me too - goodbye state school~ Can finally unwatch this thread haha. Good luck to you guys waiting to hear back!

Did you call in? Or did your status change in the portal?

Anyone that interviewed on 2/15 change from "decision pending" to final decision?

Nah, I just checked the portal occasionally:
"A final decision was made on your application on . Please allow two-weeks to receive the correspondence in the mail. If you do not receive this correspondence in two-weeks, please contact the Admissions Office. No decision will be given over the telephone."

There's no date so I'm not sure when it changed...

Yep this is BS. I have to go next Thursday to get the labs drawn but the labs refuse to accept that they have received the order (even though they have been sent 3 times).

I looked at that site, and it said overdue for 2015 applicants. Does that include us? I was going to call, but haven't found time yet.

I definitely feel your pain. I got the labs done only to find out that I have to restart the Hep B series and chickenpox series since my antibody levels are below the acceptable range which equals even more $$$

I haven't even been immunised against Hep B, so I'm going to have to start that one from scratch. And I never got varicella, because I had chickenpox when I was 6. This is going to be such a pain to get done. Especially given that it can take 2+ months to get in to see my GP..
