2015-2016 University of Vermont Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Same status since completing application on Aug 6th. Anyone in the same boat?
I also submitted in August and it still says "application has been received." Glad at least to hear that I'm not the only one.

Over 1 month post interview for 9/26'ers. I keep thinking that we will hear any day now so i'm getting pretty anxious. Hopefully good news comes in the next couple of days!

Might not wanna hold your breath buddy. I'm still waiting to hear back as a 9/19'er.

Interesting. Had no idea that some 9/19 people still haven't heard yet. Good luck! Guess the wait continues 😴

Small pooled sometime this week...finally some positive movement (this past month has been brutal!)
Really hope they notice my 'out of the country starting in January' note in the secondary. This school is an absolute top choice, and I will spend ridiculous airfare to make it out for an interview...but I'd really rather not have to.

C'mon UVM! It's been over 11 weeks since I was complete! Please small pool and give me an II!

For the people who interviewed on 8/22 and 9/19, were there a lot of in state students interviewing? Or mostly just out of state?

II today! They originally scheduled me for 11/6, but I called and switched to 11/20. So excited! Went to UVM for undergrad and would love to go back!

Anyone from the area know if there is anything cool going on Halloween weekend in Burlington? I'm staying at the hostel downtown and have all day before and after the interview (10/31) to check the area out.

Is this normal? Mine is the same. I thought by the 8th week that oh maybe by 10th week, but now is almost like 12th or 13th week. It's still being processed....what is going on.

It's pretty typical. I was in early August and just got small pooled what...the 13th or 14th week? Which is not to say that 13-14wks is a cutoff or anything, just that if you read through this thread it's not atypical.

How many apps do you have out? How many are still in some form of processing/initial review? Because at this point, I'd say a good 90%+ of mine are still in that limbo and I was all in in July/early Aug. It's just how this process goes sometimes.

Much luck to you!

can anyone give some feedback on the MMI interview? I was looking on the sdn vermont site, but most of the reviews are from pre-mmi ...

That's probably because MMIs are usually bound by confidentiality.

Look through the thread, there's some info about it. You won't get much more info than what's here.

Oh Vermont...am i ever leaving preliminary review....? Ive been complete here since early august

Lol nope this is week 12 for me and I'm still not under review.

Same. Really frustrating because it seems like people who submitted after me have already had Interviews and I haven't even been reviewed.

Any progress with your apps? I am still sitting at your supplemental application has been received!!! I can't believe that I submitted my application in July and it is almost November and I haven't even been marked as complete let alone read. July is not late! What gives UVM?

Also worth mentioning that I called to follow up with this. On the answering menu, they say that they cannot discuss an applicant's status on the phone, but after 3+ months, I was insistent on speaking to someone, anyone! I pushed through the menu to speak with a human, but nobody picked up.

Please tell me you guys have made some sort of progress!

this is currently driving me insane too! i submitted my app in mid august so a little later than you but this is getting ridiculous. i was considering calling the admissions office to inquire about this and make sure they have everything they need from me but probably won't now that i know they aren't receptive to answering questions. smh.

at this point i would be THRILLED to enter preliminary review of some sort but prospects are looking grim and i don't understand why this is happening to a bunch of us. hoping they are just somehow backlogged with applications and will eventually get to everyone because this is an absolute top choice of mine and i thought i was a good fit for the school
Nope. I believe I submitted the last week of July. I just checked my portal and I am still at that infuriating status that says it may take 10-12 weeks for my application to be processed.

I don't know but I would love to go trick or treating with you!! I am here as well! I was going to hit The Embassy Row for international candy but UVM demanded my presence here in Burlington on this fateful day!!!

How was Halloween in Burlington? Spent mine working in the ER, surprisingly uneventful, but everyone was in the Halloween spirit, so it was a fun time.

It was great! I went to church street and everyone was dressed up and having fun!! I am even more in love with this place then before. I was also able to prove my theory that Vermonters don't feel cold.... I mean, they were eating Ben & Jerry, in sleeve-less costumes when it was 40F outside 😱:coldfeet:

I'm glad everyone was feeling some Halloween Love 🙈

Hey all- I got this message:

"Your file is complete and has been preliminarily reviewed. You are within a pool of applicants from which an interview may be extended. Please note that this does not guarantee you will be offered an interview and you may not see an update to your status for several month"

Does this pretty much mean "on-hold"? Thanks guys!

It means you're small pooled. Small pool is the pile of applications currently being considered for an II. Its a good thing.

When were you small pooled?

oh Thanks! Ya actually I meant I submitted my supplemental app by very early August and still waiting to be complete/processed. My application is not marked as received/complete yet after 12 wks or so and I found that slow since all my other apps were complete a while ago. So I am not waiting to even hear back for any status change, merely to be complete....
