II for 9/26, OOS, LizzyM 71!

@agoron I'm in a similar position, gonna be landing at midnight the night before and can't fly out till sunday morning because there are no flights after the interview. basically praying for a student host to take me in so I don't have to pay for two nights in a hotel

Agreed! I really am hoping a host will take me for two nights or at least two different hosts for each night. If we can't find hosts I'm down to try and share a room with you or something to half the cost! It's weird, fellow SDNers are strangers, but not really at the same time.

Guys does it make a difference if I interviewed late September or late October ?

Decided I'm going, flights are booked! Super excited 🙂 really hoping someone will be willing to host me for the nights of 9/25 and 9/26, flying out early on the morning of 9/27. Crossing another state off my bucket list!

Also, if anyone has a car and wants to make a spontaneous trip to Canada on Saturday, it's less than an hour to the border 😉

Well if you've never been to burlington before you should check out the area instead of going all the way to canada. It's a beautiful small city with lots of stuff to do.

Which part isn't true?

Are you saying that people will have a status that remains "Your supplemental application has been received. Please note that it may take 6-8 weeks for all materials to be processed; at certain times of the year, it may take as many as 10-12 weeks. You should continue to periodically check on the status of your file through the Online Applicant Center. We appreciate your patience!" for the entire cycle?

I would think that they would update students to let them know if they've been reviewed or not, rather than waiting to be reviewed all year. They have to review everyone's application at one point and unless they do silent rejections, your status should change to let you know that your file has been looked at.

I'm sorry I totally misread what you said.

Can someone just quickly summarize the statuses?

There's an under review before small pool? Or is that just what comes up once you're complete

I think there are : your application has been received ---> prelim review--> small pool-->anything else (II, etc)

As far as I can tell it goes:

1. Waiting for materials
2. Complete, under prelim review
3. Small pool
4. II

Of course I'm stuck at prelim review so I'm basing this off other posts

EDIT: Guess I was too slow posting 😛

Small pooled! Complete sometime early/mid July!

I got small pooled but I haven't checked the portal in forever so I'm not sure exactly when it happened~

same here!

i just checked the portal and got the first piece of news in like literally a month (FROM ANY SCHOOL!) yayyyyy! I didn't receive any email, though.

Your file is complete and has been preliminarily reviewed. You are within a pool of applicants from which an interview may be extended. Please note that this does not guarantee you will be offered an interview and you may not see an update to your status for several months.

I just checked the page a few days ago, so this must have happened recently. I submitted sometime in mid July (I received the secondary on july 15th, but I don't see a receipt for when I submitted). I'm OOS.

Yeahh, so I'm confused...you must be small pooled to get an interview but being small pooled doesn't guarantee an interview at all. It just means we've passed the preliminary screening? Are there any stats about how many people who get small-pooled eventually get interviews? Or how many people even get small-pooled in the first place?

Can someone explain to me how you log in to check your status? I don't remember ever making a letter ID...

This is all I see, is that what you guys see?

hey ya i am still on that, submitted my secondary almost a long time ago, maybe a month ago...

Anyone know when UVM's first interview date is?

Not sure when exactly my status changed (I hadn't checked my status in a few days), but I looked at the app portal today and it now says:

"We have received all application materials that you have submitted. Your application is under preliminary review. This review of your file may take 6-8 weeks.

Once the review of your file is complete your status will be updated."

Woo, progress!

EDIT: For reference, I submitted 7/19. OOS.

Just checked the portal and received the pool status. Probably haven't checked the portal in 2-3 weeks so I don't know when I got it.

Does anyone know what % of applicants get the small pool status? Is there an alternate hold/rejection status?

Does anyone know when the first interview at UVM is? Mine is on the 19th and I was hoping to get some feedback about the general feel of the day from anyone who has already been. It would certainly be nice to know what I'm getting myself into!

I also am on the 19th and really would like to know about the format of the interviews. See you there! 🙂

I sent a PDF file to the general med admissions email address but I received a confirmation email from
It seems a little sketch to be posting one poor admissions person's email on SDN...

You sent it to the general, and got confirmation. That's probably the best route for people to take, then!

Yeah, I agree. I was hesitant to send it but it is public information, all you need to do is check the UVM admissions site. Either way, its gone now.

Oh man, if people actually read the school admissions sites, we wouldn't need SDN to begin with 😛
