How many secondaries have they sent out this far?

Also, what do they base their post secondary decision on? I heard the question is a ethical hypothetical one. So will the decision of whether or not one gets an ii depend soley on their level of enthusiasm torwards the secondary question response? Or do they also revisit the primary app?
 
anyone interviewed on Oct 8 received a hold yet?

I mean, it won't update before 6:30pm right? The worst is I wanted to go play with puppies to pass the time, but I'm stuck at my aunts waiting for her lost luggage to arrive..... of course it hasn't.
 
I got an update email just now but it says something about $100 deposit. To those who got accepted, did your portal say anything along the lines of "congrats you've been accepted?"
 
For those who've heard, did the portal change to reflect acceptance??

Seriously.. freakin wack. VCU undergrad and did the CERT program. Still no love. Really feelin some type of way. I have good stats (MCAT>515 & CERT GPA 3.8) and tons of EC's, too.

I did CERT as well with the same CERT GPA. MCAT isn't quite as good as yours but still very solid with plenty of good ECs. I'm pretty disappointed, not gonna lie...

Accepted too, and was at dinner with my parents, and showed them the response above. We all had a good laugh, as well as another round of drinks.
Just so relieved, had 2 deferrals/waitlists from other schools in the past 2 days.

Dinner buddies! Got the news while I was dining with my parents as well, thankfully it was a celebratory meal! Congrats!
 
Congratulations to everyone who received an acceptance today! You've worked extremely hard and your efforts have begun to pay off. I'll speak with our class officers and get the C/0 2020 FB page started in the near future to help with planning your medical career. As before, please feel free to PM me with any questions and I'll get them answered as quickly as I can.

To all those waiting to hear, there are still ~250-300 more acceptances to be distributed throughout the cycle (including waitlist). Chin up, keep improving yourself and your application, and someone (VCU and/or otherwise) WILL recognize your hard work. Best of luck through this grueling process!

"The committee's file review indicates that they would like to consider your file further. We are now in the process of scheduling interviews and will continue to do so through February. Unfortunately, the committee indicates interest in far more candidates than we are able to interview. Since we are dependent on the Committee member's schedules for interview spaces, we are unable to predict when or if we will be able to schedule you this year. If your status changes, you will receive an email regarding your recent status update."

Prior googling tells me that this is a 3rd priority score status update. From what I've seen, people with #1/#2 priority scores have ended up getting interviewed. Are there any applicants here that have received this message and have scheduled or attended an interview?

Really, all I want to know is just how depressed I should be haha

Thanks for the encouragement 🙂, I have a couple more interviews coming up but VCU is definitely at the top of my list. I know it's happened, but I do wonder if you get passed over if you have much of a shot at the later dates considering more people have been interviewed :\

Don't be depressed. They said they would like to consider you further, which means they didn't dislike what they saw. There have been people with this status and get an interview so keep the faith =)
 
I just got the same "further" status update as well; fingers crossed that they throw some IIs our way!
Submitted late July, complete 8/10 I think? LizzyM 66-67.

I received an interview a few days after receiving that status, so don't be depressed because you might get some good news soon🙂.

I had this status in early August, and recently got an II
 
Congrats to everyone accepted.
I am a little confused about the VCU curriculum. If you look at the website if seems traditional but some of the YouTube videos suggest otherwise, ie PBL. WHICH IS IT ?

Probably a mix. Most schools out there use a mix
