Hey guys, for those of you who have received interviews, how long did it take before hearing back after your secondary's were completed and under review. My secondary has been under review since 9/20 but I was waiting to receive my 2nd MCAT score on 10/4. I am pretty sure I had no chance until this second MCAT, just trying to find out when I should expect anything back?

STATS: 1st MCAT 6/21: 498 2nd MCAT: 9/1: 503 Undergrad GPA: 3.3 / Post Bac GPA 50 credits: 3.9/ Biomedical Masters GPA: 3.7 / URM / FSU Alumni . FSU is my number 1 choice so I'm hoping to at least get an interview, good luck to you all 🙂

I waited almost 2 months before I received an interview invite after having everything complete.

It says "interview scheduled". Or do you mean before that?

Well my status has said "Application Under Review by the Office of Admissions" since 9/19. So would the next status be interview scheduled? or something like "application reviewed"?
Also since you already have an interview do you mind sharing your stats? I am kind of freaking out about my chances.

Thanks !

Hey guys, little help. I submitted my secondary application early August and haven't heard back. MCAT: 507 cgpa:3.88 sgpa:3.81 with about 250 hours of volunteering, 400 hours of shadowing, and I play a collegiate sport. My only downfall is that I'm OOS. What do you guys think my chances are?

Your chances are pretty low given that your oos . FSU loves IS. In the past only a couple of OOS have been admitted

The interview was great. Very relaxed and the interviewers are truly just trying to get to know you. I had no tricky questions. Just wanted more info about stuff on my application and me as a person. They told us we would hear back in 1-2 weeks.

For anyone that has had a regular decision interview, have you heard back yet? And how long did it take you to hear back?

MD schools are allowed to send out acceptances starting 10/15

I interviewed Oct. 7th and they said it takes about 2 weeks. They said it takes two Tuesdays for the admissions committee to sit down with the interviews to discuss applicants. So my understanding was 2 Tuesdays after my interview I should be hearing back.

Anybody interviewing Monday the 24th?

Anyone know how/if we may submit updates to our application? Still hoping to receive an II and I've got some great new clinical research and volunteer experiences with underserved communities that I'd like to inform the admissions office about.

MCAT 506, GPA 3.7

According to the website, all updates must be sent to: [email protected]

I just found out that I was waitlisted. Does anyone have any advice on what to do now? FSU is my definitely where I want to be. Also, how likely is it to get pulled off the waitlist?

Should I send them an email to make sure they have all my stuff? My portal just says "No status" and secondary app received 8/30.

Any recent II's ...? Application under review since 7/25 and update sent in earlier this week. Really hoping to hear some good news soon!

What are your stats? I'm also still waiting for a II.

Anyone know if these stats are consistent with those of students that have gotten II's this cycle?

Hey guys so I have a question I got my secondary on 7/18 and submitted it on 7/20. And there has been no change to my status since. The last thing it says is "Secondary Application Received" 7/20. Anyone know why there might not be any update to my status since then? I emailed them last week and they said they had gotten everything from my end, so I have no idea what is going on.

So while it's sometimes comforting to compare your stats to other people who already got interviews, FSU is reaaaaaally big on their mission, and instead of being stats crazy like some schools, truly wants future physicians who will uphold their mission as a physician.

FSU is an amazing school, and their boards pass rates match or are higher than the national average, even though the average MCAT of their accepted students is lower. The AAMC published a ~20 year study saying that higher than a 26(?) (something around there) pass rates don't improve with increasing MCAT scores. So FSU took that and now treats the MCAT as more of just a quick check mark than a big deal in admissions.

At FSU, stats are not going to get you in alone. They had over 6,500 applications, and sent out 160 acceptance letters TOTAL. That's a ~2.5% acceptance rate (not matriculation rate, ACCEPTANCE RATE). But, if you cut out OOS, (sorry guys but unless you have ties to Florida they don't think you will stay here to practice in a rural area for the underserved), show GENUINE passion for helping the underserved, and actually want to practixe in a rural area after residency, you probably have a great shot. Just let your passion shine through, and good luck!

"Application Under Review by the Office of Admissions"..... for 95 days

Does this school wait until the end of the cycle to reject? Or rejects in waves throughout the cycle? Or silent reject?

Pretty sure I read somewhere that they wait until the end to reject with an email.

Ive actually had some friends that got rejected before the end. I spoke with admissions and they told me that FSU has a "method" for rejections. As to what that "method" is, the world may never know but for the most part I thought it was all at the end.

Anybody else waiting for a post-II decision today? Haven't heard anything yet and am not sure if I should still expect some news today

on hold email this morning 🙁

Anyone know the typical turn around time for secondaries? Mine has been under review since 9/20.
