Hi everyone, I am actually planning to apply to SIU for the next cycle, so I apologize for possibly posting in the wrong forum.
I know a lot can change in a year, but with no budget in sight, I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on this recent article on the Illinois budget impasse and its effects on SIU:
$2.2M more in budget cuts could be coming to SIU medical school.
I did read some previous comments about how the budget impasse doesn't seem to be affecting SIU very much but those were posted before this article, and this article makes me slightly concerned due to layoffs, physicians/surgeons resigning, pay cuts, etc. Just hoping for a little more clarification, considering I really like what SIU has to offer in terms of location, tuition, education, and other factors. Thanks!
