Use all the free resources available to you from SDN: articles, guides, expert advising, forums discussions, and school research.
I think people are referring to the green check mark that appears next to the 'In Progress' status that shows up on the Tulane portal. Usually that means your application is currently under the screening process.
You will save yourself a lot of stress by not worrying about the portal and the checkmarks relative to others on SDN. The timing of how the committee reviews applications and how they reflect them on the portal seems completely random. I submitted July 20th and received both my green check mark and an II a few weeks after others who submitted around my date. Best of luck to all.

Sorry to hear that, did you find out today?
There's really not much people can tell you. But there's not much to it and there's nothing you should or could do to prepare. You'll be given a prompt with information about the patient, who is a current student on the admissions committee. If you have good bedside manner, you will do wonderfully. No medical background is needed.

Submitted mid-August, never received a complete email but my portal now reads "in progress." Is this normal? Does this mean it is currently under review? Or it's still in the process of being complete?
not to put too much emphasis on what it all means (as previous posters have noted), but a green check mark next to the "in progress" status probably means your application is undergoing review. at least that's what i've noticed with my own application. i went from a red exclamation point to a green check mark and then got an interview invite, so you may get a status update sometime in the near (hopefully) future.

thanks, good luck to you too! i wouldn't pay too much attention to it or check the portal religiously. tulane sends out emails for II.
It seems like they've slowed down on the rejections. Earlier in the cycle they seemed pretty efficient with processing as they were throwing out batches of rejections/IIs left and right. Many people complete around my time in July have already had final decisions for quite some time. I know a lot of schools are more roundabout, but Tulane seemed pretty systematic earlier in the cycle. Not sure what that means for me, but I guess nothing is better than the axe at this point!
Yeah just let them know to give it to the guy who calls in demanding an II and will only identify themselves as and answer to "Freak7"

Why won't they just telll meeeeeee. At this point people before and after me have gotten rejections (not that i want one). Finished 07/24 sooo i'm just waiting for some type of response.
I saw on one of their materials that they try to give a rejection or an II within 3 weeks of your stuff being under review but that's def not true. Oh well

Finally got the green checkmark. Last checked four days ago and it was still the red exclamation mark. complete end of july.

Got the rejection email today! First one of the cycle. Was for sure bummed, but onto the next one. Complete 7/27, got the green check mark last Thursday, so I guess I was a pretty quick rejection.
Submitted secondary middle of august, finally got the green check mark today.

II earlier today! Submitted my secondary application mid-July. Earliest interview dates offered were in February when I signed up.

I submitted my secondary on 9/7. Complete waste of money and time since I was so late. It's gonna take weeks to just get the green check mark, I assume. I'll be interviewing for the class of 2022 by then.
Chill out. Submitted last week as well. Just pray or cross your fingers, whatever your thing is. Crack a beer. A few months from now, you get to be accepted and throw a big party or have a rousing brunch, again whatever your thing.

Hello! Would you mind sharing any insight about the interview season? It seems kind of concerning that interviews are currently being scheduled for Feb, do you know if Tulane opens up more spots later in the cycle? Thanks for your time!
Unfortunately I cannot comment on how late into the cycle Tulane will be conducting interviews. Checking last years thread would be your best bet. I can answer any questions regarding interview format and fun facts about New Orleans/Tulane.
