Has anyone who hasn't gotten a secondary called and asked about it? Just thinking they might be held up like Irvine by their orientation and stuff

I've been verified for well over a month and no secondary and no rejection....no idea whats going on. People who were verified just last week already got secondaries

For those of you with interviews, do you have ties to Northern and Central Cali?

Has Davis sent out post-secondary rejections?

I've been complete since late June, and haven't heard a word. I would be over the moon to interview there.

When I emailed them earlier in the year they said they don't have cut offs for gpa or mcat. So I'm not sure what's going on... But don't worry! If they do have a screen, they probably look at apps that don't meet the screen to ensure everyone's app is holistically reviewed.

Yeah, they don't have high cutoffs or anything like that, but they do have a holistic type of screen. I'm guessing that they screen for ECs that relate to their mission.

Just got an interview hold. Even though this is my alma mater, I expected this. My career ambitions do not represent the UCDSOM mission. I just want to reiterate for anybody hoping to go here. Even during undergrad, my experiences with UCDSOM have revealed a very big emphasis on fit and service to the underserved in NorCal.

Yeah it's my alma mater too, and I haven't had any love!

What do you mean that your career ambitions don't represent their mission? If your undergrad experiences emphasize service to the underserved in norcal, isn't that fitting their mission?

How does it necessarily mean that op followed the mold Davis set just because they attended the school? Op is saying their undergrad institution emphasized those things, not that their own resume matches that mission

Service to the underserved is a very big part of the undergraduate pre-med experience at Davis. There are many student-run clinics and many undergrads that work in those clinics. I didn't participate in these clinics; I think I found my time volunteering in other departments more rewarding, personally. I did a lot of teaching and research as well which are very apparent in my app and personal statement. My career ambitions aren't geared toward primary care or service to the underserved, specifically to populations in the Sacramento area or the broader Northern California area. That's why UCDSOM asks you if you have any ties to Northern California.

I received the email that Davis got my primary and the email with the secondary link at the same time (4:01AM). Random.

For the experiences section, did anyone list a reference that is not the person who would verify your hours? Meaning, they would be able to speak on your behalf but not verify your hours.

i.e. volunteering at a hospital, you list a doctor as a reference but the volunteer coordinator is the one who would verify the hours

I would call them to double check, but for my secondary I just listed people who could verify my participation/hours, so in your case I would put the coordinator.

can someone post the questions for people interested in tracks?

Hi! So I tried to access it but since I've already submitted it doesn't let me view the tailored track prompts because I didn't pick any of them... Maybe someone else who answered them still has access to the essay questions? Sorry I couldn't be of help

I only have the one for the ACE-PC:
"Please tell us what attributes or experiences would make you a good fit for an accelerated program in primary care."

has anyone been able to get a hold of ucd? all of the numbers on msar just ring forever.

but they must be lagging on sending out more communication because they just went back to school, right?

i got a secondary!!! From Nor Cal with 508 MCAT and 3.62 GPA. How are my chances looking?

Since they perform a review on each applicant's profile before secondary invite, does it give us an advantage to have the LORs uploaded with primary? Or they won't look at it at all until secondary?

In general, schools don't look at LORs until secondary. However, if you have all your letters uploaded on primary already, they can view them faster because there's no waiting for them to come in from AMCAS.

So Im confused about this hold status...
Do applicants that receive this status still have a good shot or is it pretty much a polite notice of a rejection later down the line?
