So if I was complete in mid-July with no II yet, it means rejection..?

No one really knows... People earlier in the thread stated they know people or seen previous years thread with people who were complete relatively early but didn't get an invite till later on in the cycle

I'm sorry to hear that 🙁 when was your primary received by them?

did you mention any ties to norcal?
i dont think that matters tbh. I have 2 friends who have nothing to do with norcal and have lower GPA/MCAT than me, were verified later than me, and they got a secondary within a few days. and I've been here waiting for 45 days

They may have an EC screen for volunteering considering their mission.

application received 8/11, silence since then...this is my top choice so i'm really waiting on that secondary

Day 48 and no secondary...C'mon Davis this isn't humane. just gimme a damn secondary or finish off my dreams with a quick and painless email already!

*Fast Forward to April 2017*
Davis ADCOM #1: Well Jim, looks like we're all done sending rejections, interviews, and acceptances. I guess thats it for the best application cycle in UC Davis history.
Davis ADCOM #2: Wait a second Bob, I think we missed someone....this guy Tuco has a 3.97 GPA, 512 MCAT, lots of volunteering, and Norcal ties...this poor guys been waiting for a secondary for 7 months and he's been checking his portal 12 times a day, why didnt we ever send him a secondary? maybe we should finally update his portal with a rejection?
Davis ADCOM #3: Nah f**k Tuco, he just doesnt value just how holistically we screen and just how unique our mission is. just keep on sending him those generic daily emails that ask for his patience while we employ our "holistic and uniquely exclusive mission-based secondary screen".

This foolish Tuco will serve as a warning to all future applicants to not apply to UC Davis unless they can make it past our screen based on our unique mission to "improve the health of our community, expand cutting edge medical technologies, train future healthcare leaders, and promote diversity" LOLLLLZZZZ

Nice! Congrats and thanks for sharing! Do you mind sharing when you were verified?
Sure! I was verified early July and added this school in mid-July. I got an application received email a few days later, and they said they would decide whether to give me a secondary once they received my MCAT score. My score was released yesterday and I received a secondary this morning.

IF you don't mind me asking, what was your MCAT score range?

Davis received my app on 8/11, no word since then :/
recieved a secondary from UCR but I added it on 7/8 and they sent me a secondary after receiving my mcat score on 8/10

Do people have the complete email in their message center in the portal? I don't, so I just wanted to see if it was just me...

I don't either. I have the email from the primary application and then the secondary request. Secondary completed almost a month ago with no communication since then.

Please love me Davis. Love me like I love you 😳

I received a "secondary application complete" email from them after my last LOR was processed. This does not show up in my message center in the portal.

I'm going to write about my interview experience here at Davis recently. Some details are left out for anonymity purposes.

Day before: I live close by the school so I did not stay with a host. However, people who have done it said the students were nice and made them feel welcomed.

Day of interview: Basically, you will be pre-assigned in either a morning MMI group or in the afternoon MMI group. Morning group starts at 9AM and ends at 1PM. Afternoon group starts at 11AM and ends at 3PM. Morning group will get introductions, MMI, then lunch with students. Afternoon group will get introductions, lunch, then MMI. Even before the day started, students who walked by us greeted us and told us good luck and to not be nervous, which made me feel so much better. Orientation or introductions itself was pretty good, where they went over what Davis has to offer and it was basically EVERYTHING I could ask for 🙂. Lunch was catered hot buffet style and the choices was great! There were so many MS1 and MS2 students who came (partially for the free food) but more importantly to meet interviewees and to talk to us. There were students in some of the track programs too so you can ask them what's it like if you applied for them. OH AND THE RESTROOMS: either it was the students or staff who did it but they left us a bunch of cool stuff like mouth washers and mint and so many little things to help us wash up and get ready. I thought it was super neat and it showed the close-knit community feel of Davis!!

MMI: Because of the students I met earlier, I felt pretty relaxed going in. It was so much fun and fast-paced! Can't talk about it more than that due to confidential agreement 🙂. Not sure how I did but I hope good enough ><!

Tours: There was really no tour of the school itself because it's reserved for second-look days, but you can definitely walk and see that the campus has so many facilities surround it (cancer center, numerous hospitals, etc.). The student education building itself was super new and very nice. I also signed up for a tour to one of the free-clinics, which gave me even more insights into the school by students who run them. Once again, they stressed the highly supportive environment of Davis and all that it's got to offer...and I was pretty much sold!

In general, UCD exceeded my expectations and everyone was beyond welcoming and LOVED talking to us. I really, really hope they feel the same way about me. What a great institution! 🙂

Thanks! Ummm I honestly don't think prepping is necessary for this one and that's all I have to say about that 😉 But really, just be calm and if it helps, look through scenarios online but looking back I'm not sure if any of it helped to be honest.

Has Davis rejected anyone pre secondary who was verified 6/28 or later? Kind of wondering when they're going to just ax me lol

youve been verified for that long? you probably will be axed my friend, just as I will be axed. I was verified in the beginning of July, and it seems that people either get them within a week or get rejected eventually

II! Secondary submitted late-July.

Anyone have an idea of how many students UCD interviews and how many they accept?

II :joyful: Submitted late July. Only available date was in November. Anyone get anything sooner?
