Mid September.
I got an interview from another UC on a Saturday night at midnight lol so there is a chance that a few of us will be getting interview invites but they just set them to automatically go out at certain times? Idk just trying to be optimistic lol.
But the lady I talked to on the phone said someone reviewed your app and didn't choose to make a decision so "you still have a chance. Small chance. But still a chance."

I just don't understand why I wouldn't be either rejected or put on hold pre ii if someone reviewed it and didn't like my app. It makes me think I'm either getting rejected in the near future, or I'm getting an ii lol. Wtv it is should be happening soon

Hmm... does that mean a small chance at getting an interview invite or a small chance at not being outright rejected?
 
interviewed this past thursday and i loved the school! my favorite of the california schools i've interviewed at so far. they said they will release the decision this coming tuesday (!!!) so i'm anxiously anticipating an email.

if you have any general questions about the experience ask away!

UCI and USC. UCI was nice, but i didn't like how the medical campus was separate from the university's main campus. it felt small and kind of isolated, which i think i would grow tired of after four long years. USC lacked social awareness, and some comments made by students/staff really put me off. also, the stereotype of stuck-up students held in large part, which was disappointing. my student interviewer was great though. having said all this, i am planning on going to the second looks to give each school a fair shake

USC lacked social awareness? Really? I got the exact opposite impression during my interview because of county. I thought the stereotype was mostly for undergrads. :thinking:

that impression was mostly derived from what the dean said to us. my tour guides also seemed uneasy whenever they talked about gay or transgendered people. the stereotype is mostly for undergrads, which is why i was surprised it seemed to translate into medical school

I read some old UCSD threads and someone mentioned receiving merit scholarships. Does anyone know if they still offer merit scholarship now?
 
i called admissions and they said "my odds for a II aren't good, but nothing is final"
was complete mid-sept and they said i should hear from them in mid-dec, guess this means rejection, oh well :/

At least they're honest. Are you "on hold"?
 
I called them few weeks ago and they passed over my app for now. So if you dont have rejection or hold, they might look at your app again later

Omg II!!! I'm so happy. I thought I was out of the running. Complete sometime late August or early September. Only date available was in February.

II today!!!! completely and totally took me by surprise. I submitted my secondary 9/28. LizzyM 72-73. IS. The dates available to interview were 2/2 and 2/9.

Complete around mid august. LizzyM 70....my numbers are not within range for this school....I keep thinking how they sent this to the wrong person...cookie cutter applicant with mediocre research experience.....

I am not worthy. I am not worthy. Someone pinch me...but then again don't.

There is hope for those who don't think they have what it takes.

CONGRATS 😀 😀 😀 I'm so happy for you all, I'm sure you'll love your visit!! Wishing you (and everyone else in this thread) the best of luck 🙂

Also FWIW, when I interviewed I spoke with someone who told me they submitted their secondary in July and got II in late January, so there is still plenty of time for everyone who is still waiting 😉
 
II invite today as well!!! So happy! I applied to the PRIME as well. Complete early October. Never on hold but assumed they just tossed it to the side. Lizzy M 70. OOS. URM
 
II today. Last year during undergrad I visited this school just because I was in the area. I thought from the vibe I would love it here, so I got home and looked at the stats. :dead: I was just like NOPE. Sent in an app mildly as a crapshoot and thought I was silently rejected. Complete mid-August.
 
Did these II go out on e-mail or portal? Congrats to everyone! Still hopeful I get one!

has anyone been rejected post-secondary yet?

i've complete since mid-sept and haven't received a II/hold/rejection, just pure silence

Seems like most people have just been put on hold. I don't think we've seen a rejection post secondary yet. Could be wrong.

Yes, I was fortunate to have received both UCI and UCSF secondaries. However, I've already been rejected from both 🙁

Holding out a small sliver of hope for UCLA lol but not really :/

Around what time did UcSD email out notifications of acceptance or waitlist?
 
I received a secondary request last week and submitted right away. However, on the status check website, it does not say that they have received my recommendation letters and the application is not yet ready. However there is a date stamp on when they received my AMCAS app, payment and secondary. Does UCSD take some time between receiving a completed secondary and finalizing the file?

yeah they do take a little time. i would call their office and ensure that they have your materials, even if the portal does not reflect so
