Has anyone been deferred yet?
Looks like in last year's thread, deferments started going out around this time.

This cycle is different. Looking at the raw numbers they are behind. It might be because of the is oos difference.

I didn't say anything about rejections. I said that around this time, early October, people posted that they were deferred on the day after UMichMondays. And they continued to be deferred throughout the cycle, not one batch in February.

I am not presuming to know anything about the process this year or last. Simply an observation.

I think the confusion is between the meaning of deferred vs. wait list, since a lot of schools use them interchangeably.

Deferred makes it sound like they have a seat for the following years class for some odd reason.

They're not actually behind...

On Oct. 12th last year 431 invites had been given out.

It is now Oct. 3 and 366 invites have been given out. To reach 431 by Oct. 12th, they'll need to give out 65 more. That's ~32.5 for this Monday and next, which is definitely doable. They've given out 33 on UMichMondays regularly. Even if they give slightly less than 33 each, that's really not being "behind".

Seems to me they are right on time.

That and people are still blowing the OOS thing out of proportion. Yes, theyve given out a lot of OOS, but historically they've given out more OOS interviews. I know that current student said they were doing more OOS IIs earlier, but I doubt its a drastic difference..

would it be smart to submit something to the affect of "renewing my love" for UMich via the application update? Maybe like a half page as to why I want to attend their medical school?

If it's just renewing your love for them, I don't think you really need to? But if you have an actually update then go for it

It might work, but it might hurt. No one likes desperation. Unless you are Georgetown.
 
I hope Michigan braces itself for all the neurotic prendes that will call today like " buhh buhhh what happened to UMich Mondays?!"

When are they going to update the twitter lol. IS really hoping to hear from them. I'm guessing they will start sending more stuff out soon since their application is now closed.

Their primary is closed. But the secondary is open until October 31st
