They said the 20th though... I hope it's tomorrow

Do they release all IIs at the same time? or is it throughout the day?

This is definitely reassuring. I've applied to Michigan, Oakland, Wayne, and Michigan State as an in state applicant. Finished the first three early August, the last early September. Silence across the board.

@Fortyfive, I think they released some at different times last Monday
Its almost always at the same time. Last week was one of the few exceptions because they had technical difficulties the week prior.

aww 🙁 okay

I was complete 9/4, I guess I still have to wait?

They tweeted out 12 more weeks of II to go out and I'm sure many of them will be IS heavy

390 total II distributed, approximately 210 II left or 17.5/week.

With those stats, I'm presuming my chances are over. I'm withdrawing from all my schools; gives the admissions officers more time to focus on your amazing apps and not waste time on my worthless one. You all deserve to be doctors, and you will all be amazing, don't forget that. Forever and Always, Go Blue..

Dont give up yet. I submitted my secondary the very first day of the cycle and didnt get an II until today. Theres still hope.

100 times over - congrats!

Seconded - it's not over until it's over. You never know what happens in 2 months when that superstar acceptance or interview gets in at Harvard and cancels. Your reviewer may be apt to say, "Oh yea, that @ipokeyoupoke character would be an awesome replacement!"

I third what the others have said. It isn't over until that rejection email comes in!

but it looks like it's going to be super IS heavy from now

You are all amazingly supportive, and nice. It's just that I don't think I'm worth it anymore and I think it's a matter of time before they see it too. I'm not angry either, I don't blame them...they should think that way about me.

hey man don't give up this app process is grueling for everyone just push through it! You've made it this far dont withdrawl your apps just ride it out and see what happens, +1 on its not over till its over

I dont think so. The couple people who've been commenting about the heavy OOS bias up until recently have been just speculating. There has been no hard data at all to support that view. I kept trying to tell them that. There may be a slightly higher proportion of IS to OOS for the rest of the cycle than there has been previously, but I seriously doubt it'll be anything too drastic.

It costs you nothing to keep your app in consideration. Keep it positive!

It makes me sad that you feel this way about yourself. And this goes beyond med school applications. Every human life has value, you just need to find your strengths. Just because your application isn't the same as that of others doesn't mean you don't have worth and can't make a meaningful contribution somewhere.

Very curious as to why the admissions tracker no longer displays the IS vs. OOS breakdown..

So Im always in that building on Fridays so I peep at the interviewee bios, I haven't seen more than 3 IS students the last three interview days combined.

So if acceptances go out at midnight....do non-acceptances just come out during the day? Or does everyone find out at midnight?

Apparently they send you an amazing video in the email.

UMich is silent reject, correct? If so, it's possible that I have 17 more weeks of getting my hopes up every Monday for nothing?

Sounds about right....
Just stop checking.
I had basically given up and stopped monday-stalking my email for a good 3 or 4 weeks when the II finally showed up in my inbox.
The more you think about it, the more miserable it gets.

Anyone know how deferred decision works? Do people generally get in or rejected from that?

Last year they accepted a few deferred decisions starting in December, though I'm not sure exactly how many. It's definitely better than the waitlist and they will continue to actually review deferred applications.

Alright. Oh well. I want to send an update, but I don't really have any updates. I want to send a letter of intent, but I feel like it's premature and I'd be limiting my options, even though Michigan is in my top 3 choices :/

Guess I am going to wait it out!
