2016-2017 University of Southern California (Keck) Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I got my pre-II rejection today. It was quite a bummer...

FWIW: GPA 3.96, MCAT 521, CA resident, non-traditional, secondary completed on 9/21

For people that interviewed, how long were the interviews? Also, do they give you the names of your interviewers beforehand? Thank you for any information in advance!!

Nope you know absolutely nothing about them until they pick you up. They last 30 minutes.

So should we expect a flood of pre-II rejections once they start sending out acceptances on the 15th/17th?

I'm pretty sure Dean Arias said we could email her if we don't hear back by oct 15th but it's a saturday this year so idk...

hmmm oct 15 being on a saturday is really playing with my emotions. hopefully it's today! but i know quite a few schools are waiting til the 17th because, as you said, the weekend

During my interview she said not to start freaking out until the 17th. She was very clear in those regards, so I would be extremely suprised if anything came out today

Do you think the adcoms made decisions for mid to late September already?

Accepted!!!! Got the email a little bit before 3 PM!!! Trying to hold it together coz I'm still at work but man..... all I want to do is cry right now :bigtears::bigtears::soexcited::biglove::bigtears::bigtears:
Congrats Gibbward! Mind if you shared around when in September you interviewed?

anyone interview on one of the earliest dates and still havent heard back yet ? 😳

With acceptances already going out, would it be too late to apply?
LizzyM 73, non-traditional student, tons of clinical experience

Every application is different, and I definitely don't want to discourage you at all.
But if you'd like to know, I completed 9/21 and got my pre-II rejection 10/11. (LizzyM 77.6, CA resident, non-traditional, decent EC and research)
That being said, I don't know if it had anything to do with not applying early.

Anyone else interview end of September? Also, does anyone know which Monday the adcom met? Was it last Monday? or 2weeks ago/today?

I interviewed toward the end of September and have yet to hear anything. I also did some digging in last year's thread and they released decisions on 10/15/15 and more decisions were released around 10/29/15, about two weeks later. I'm going to assume that something similar is going to happen this year too. :nailbiting:

i was reading last year's thread too... does it seem like a lot less people posted about acceptances today than they did last year on 10/15? so i'm wondering if they're just staggering acceptances throughout this week or if people this year just didn't feel like posting 😳

Waitlisted about an hour ago. Interviewed 9/13, LizzyM 70.5, in state. Haven't looked much into it but one person mentioned to me that only one person got off the wait list last year, anyone hear of a better outcome than that? If not, this is probably it for me this cycle, best of luck to everyone else

I was also accepted yesterday! I got my email from the lovely Dr. Arias in the late afternoon after being kind of bummed about getting a waitlist notification from another school, so having USC as my first acceptance really brightened my day!
Interviewed 9/16, OOS, Lizzy M 72.9
Good luck, y'all!

Do you know when we can expect to hear back after interviewing here?
