Any advice from those who have already interviewed?
Nervous about my upcoming interview...

I do not know how you feel about having interviews first thing in the morning, but I really liked that set up. Gave me a chance to really open my ears and mind to presentations about the school.

Both interviews were very conversational! Be prepared to talk about anything--ranging from details in your application to your thoughts on skiing. Hint: It's not wrong to say that you have never skied even though CU community seems to be full of skiers 😛

Aside from that, you have some presentations on financial aid, the curriculum, and the Colorado Springs branch. Overall I got a fantastic vibe from the school! The faculty and students really made me feel welcome 🙂

Anybody know anything about the alternate list? Do they not rank it this year?

protip: call the program or email them or something. people have gotten interviews and subsequent acceptances here just by calling.

Are you serious? I am willing to try that route if needed.

.... I'd be quite interested to hear those conversations
they probably go something like, how's it going, im waiting to hear back from you. i'd really love to come there. and then they tell you if they have a spot or not.

While I think there is nothing wrong with reaching out, I am quite certain they are not going to tell you if they have a spot or not. That isn't how the admissions committee works; it is highly organized and some random phone call is not going to interrupt that process.

Remove the brackets around "google" from the url, for whatever reason if I add the direct link it doesn't appear.[/QUOTE]
You're the best! Thanks

I have to agree with this. Sounds more like an admissions rumor than reality unfortunately. There is nothing wrong with calling or emailing. You just aren't going to be having a conversation with someone on the committee, more likely someone that handles the administration side of all this and not the decisions.

Interviewing here in a few days. Haven't heard anything about the pre-interview day social. Anyone?
You should be receiving an email this week about the social. It is on Thursday night and will be held at a hotel close to campus. I suspect you will get an email Tuesday or Wednesday about it.

Getting pretty anxious based on the amount of time I’ve been under review. About 6 weeks, though I did apply MSTP. Hoping to see some of your guys get good news to assuage my fears

believe what you want friend, i'm just telling you what has literally happened in the past with my class. can't guarantee a call or email will definitely get you an interview spot but it may help friend.

Here is my question.
As of Nov 17, they have given out 398 interviews and accepted 48.
They interview a total of 600 and accept 300 (165 matriculate?).
So they have 200 more interviews to go and 250 more acceptances?
Is my math off?

Thanks

I've been complete since September 12, and under review since October 26th if that helps comfort you at all. I haven't seen too many September people accepted, though I've seen quite a few rejected. Maybe that is a good sign?

The only thing I can think of is that invited for interview =/= they've already interviewed. Also some of us interviewed awhile ago and still haven't heard back. They may also have not updated the site.

I don't need an interview spot, I go to this school and I am not disagreeing that calling/emailing could help. I am just saying they are not going to tell you if they have a spot.

183 usually matriculate and 280-ish are usually accepted. Plus, the tracker is only updated intermittently so I am sure they have interviewed/accepted more than this by now.

Is your non disagreement an agreement or are you just saying you don't know, but the reveal of a spot can't be right?

EDIT: Because the call thing sounds super hokie, but I'm a native and would love a reason to come back home.

I don't need an interview, I already go to school here. I'm not saying that a call or email would hurt anyone, just won't give them any information since you won't reach a committee member. Just seems like a unicorn case and didn't want people to get their hopes up that they could call and talk a committee member into giving them an interview or acceptance when that isn't how it works.

Has anyone that applied for the CU-UNITE track been given an interview yet?
I Have! But they actually don’t interview you about the CU-UNITE track. You decide if you want to go hat route once you get accepted, so there is not a separate interview process like there is for the rural track.

Ahhh okay. Thanks for the clarification!

I am saying your call is not going to reach the people making the decisions (most likely). There is an admissions office and an admissions committee. The committee makes the decisions and you would be calling/emailing the office.

Dec 8th interviewees, any ideas when we may hear back? I'm sure with the holidays it'll be a long waiting game, but it'd be nice to know when to expect a decision.

I remember several students mentioning calls would go out at the most 4 weeks post interview. Is this wrong?
I heard back six weeks post-interview. I think it varies, but I remembered students saying something similar at the social the night before. Their admissions cycle may have been different from this one. Some people from an interview date several weeks after mine heard back before I did.

I was told 4-6 weeks, but I also interviewed in the "sweet spot" where Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas, NYE, etc. fell into that range lol

According to threads from previous years, late October/early November interviewees might hear back around the 19th. Fingers crossed that we all hear positive news!

I'm pretty sure they basically just told us that they didn't know when we'd hear back and that it might be toward the middle/end of January. The student I had for the tour that day said his acceptance took about 8 weeks, I think, so I'm bracing myself for a long waiting game and going to be pleasantly (or unpleasantly) surprised if they get back to us any earlier than that!

Depends when you were complete.

People have been interviewing here since early September, and invites have been going out since august. If you didn't submit until October you were comparatively late to the game, so it'll push your review back into the Winter

I actually submitted my initial application early and I submitted my secondary as soon as I could after receiving the request...

Has anyone heard anything who had an interview in late October/early November?

Sent from my [device_name] using SDN mobile

We were told - during my interview day (Dec. 15) - to expect to wait at least 4 - 6 weeks before hearing anything. However, I would not be surprised if the holidays throw that range off. We were also told that the Dec. 15th interview day was the last interview day of 2017. So the Adcoms may already be on break.

Happy holidays! I hope the break does not feel too long for all of us waiting on news from schools.

I interviewed here in November but I am curious if anyone knows if I can use a Statistics course to meet the math requirement. Most schools clarify if this will work for a math requirement but I cannot seem to find the information on their website. I figured that since they interviewed me then it must function as a math course but I just want to be sure! Thank you! 🙂

I could be wrong, but I do not think this information is released until all interviews are completed.
Unfortunately, I personally can say they’ve started it... lol

It didn’t say anything about a ranking like last years apparently did though?
