Missed phone call from Dr. Z yesterday with a voicemail saying to call her back. She was out of office today and no official acceptance email yet. No medical schools call to reject/waitlist candidates as far as I know. Is it safe to assume I'm accepted at Colorado?
Don't want to deprive you of the anticipation, but Dr. Z doesn't call people to tell them they're rejected or waitlisted.

I'm an MSTP applicant and still have not heard back yet. Getting anxious over here because its getting late. Complete 9/19.

Got rejected a while back. Just sent them an update. Lets see how this all plays out hahaha
I'm about to submit a paper for publication, but my PI is dragging her feet a bit. I was kind of waiting to send an update until I could say that.

CU doesn't actually accept updates. Anyone can call or email whatever they want, but it probably won't affect your status. If you have something you need to say then the secondary or interview are your best chances to bring that up. With you being an MSTP applicant, I wouldn't worry just yet because those interviews happen all on the same day so its probably not set in stone yet.

Okay that's what I was thinking... seems kind of weird. I've seen people in other threads sending LOI's after being rejected too.
Yeah people can and will do whatever they want, but rejections are final for the cycle so unless you cured cancer after being rejected it won't even be considered. LOIs and updates can help with waitlist for some schools, but CU specifically doesn't really take these into consideration.

Tried to call Dr. Z back several times after she left the voicemail, but was told she wasn't in office and is out for the holidays. I guess I'll have to wait until after Thanksgiving for the official good news.....

Has anyone called to check their application status pre-II? I normally wouldn't do this but I've had some issues with my email account and kind of want to make sure I haven't missed anything from admissions (considering the CU portal doesn't tell us much).

Does anyone know if we are supposed to email or mail the CUSOM contract and CO residency form? On the email they sent today it says to electronically submit, but on the forms they give us an actual address to mail things to.

does anyone know if they are accepting update emails or LOI this cycle? if not; is it ok to call and ask about my application status? it's been ages since i submitted

I sent them in both in a scanned document/email attachment and in the mail. They may take some time to confirm receipt of your paperwork, but definitely give them a call if you're concerned about whether they've received everything or not.

CU doesn't accept updates or LOI's. It's ok to call, but you likely won't get any information that you don't already have.

Thanks for the heads up! You just send it back to that email account we got the email from?

Does Colorado prioritize IS applicants in terms of when II's are sent out? Clearly I am OOS and grasping at straws hoping for an II

No everyone is considered the same way as far timing of II. Only exception is that they’re more likely to invite someone IS if there’s an opening for an interview slot at the last minute.

Has anybody had any luck calling about their application? I have been told my many MS2 students I work with to give it a try!

I cannot remember what was mentioned during my interview day, but does anyone know if Colorado gives monthly stipends?

I'm interviewing here soon, and it's my first MMI II. Can anyone who has done MMI here provide some insight into the process, questions, rigor, environment of the interviews?

Trying to plan my trip.

Saw several people mention an event the night before. Is that for all interview days? When do they let you know about it? I haven’t seen anything yet. Looking at a flight that would land in Denver at 2pm the day before interview - is that a good time?

Do they do student hosting? I haven’t done that at other interviews but I don’t know anyone in the area (never been to CO before) and it would help on the expense front.

I don't know if the event the night before is for all interview days. I got an email about it 4 days before my interview. A flight that lands at 2 will give you plenty of time if yours is like mine- it was an evening reception. Yes, they do student hosting, there was a sign up on the webpage with the interview details. I did not have a student host, though, so someone else may be more helpful with questions about it.

Thank you! That’s really helpful. I will look on the site for the hosting.

*Accepted students* - CU has a class specific Facebook page that you all are welcome to join. It is call “The University of Colorado School of Medicine Class of 2022” and is a closed group. Good luck!

Hello, I was just wondering, I submitted a secondary applications over a month ago and got an email stating they had started reviewing it at the beginning of November. I still haven't received a follow-up email to let me know if I'm not longer being considered or if they'd like to see me for an interview. Does anyone know the general time frame for the reviewing process? I'm getting really antsy!

Has anyone that applied for the CU-UNITE track been given an interview yet?

Depends when you were complete.

People have been interviewing here since early September, and invites have been going out since august. If you didn't submit until October you were comparatively late to the game, so it'll push your review back into the Winter
