Anyone have some insider info on when the next acceptances are likely to come out? Just looking back at the previous trends on this thread, it looks like maybe this Friday or the next? It's hard to tell with the holidays it seems. I've been trying to wait patiently for almost two months now lol

I interviewed here in November but I am curious if anyone knows if I can use a Statistics course to meet the math requirement. Most schools clarify if this will work for a math requirement but I cannot seem to find the information on their website. I figured that since they interviewed me then it must function as a math course but I just want to be sure! Thank you! 🙂
They don't really look at auditing the requirements until after acceptance. I can tell you though that stats will likely work just fine. I got away with a biology course that incorporated stats so you should be good to go!

As we inch nearer to 5:00 pm MST it appears my hot take about more acceptances being released this Friday was incorrect.

On to next week!

not to be that person, but would you mind sharing your stats? I was complete around the same time as you 😕

I'd rather not share my exact GPA/MCAT (I'm a little paranoid about people identifying me irl, especially since I have posted on here about other interviews and stuff) but I will say that my LizzyM is 74.

If it makes you feel any less neurotic, they do have interview dates into February so you might still hear some good news in the coming weeks! good luck!

while we're talking about requirements -- I don't think my university offers specifically human biology classes... I've taken cell biology and genetics in addition to some upper-level bio electives. Do you know if that would be sufficient? Also, can reading/writing-intensive courses, that aren't listed under the english department, be used to fulfill the english requirement?

I have my interview coming up this Friday and am feeling a bit anxious since it’s my first .. do any of you have any tips or advice for me? Please pm me with anything you think may be useful 🙂

It was my first interview as well, and I don't think it could have been better. The two interviewers were very friendly and it was conversational. Expect the standard questions about why medicine, how do you handle challenges, etc. I feel like they made an effort to make it an enjoyable and informational day.

Great username by the way!

I never got a "why medicine" or anything like that. Just super simple/boring questions from a master list of pre-approved interview questions. Felt like my first interview could have been conducted over email to be honest, haha. No questions were specific to me, or anything from my application materials. I would have been better served googling "cliche interview questions" and preparing for those.

Apart from that, the students, campus, and vibe were all amazing!

The interviews were very conversational. If you got an interview, that means that they want you already they just want to make sure that there is a good fit. My first interview, my interviewer had hand written notes about all of the things I've ever done. He asked the pre-written questions quickly, then asked specific questions about my background. I am a re-applicant, so he asked about how I've changed and what feedback schools gave me about why I didn't get in. I felt like they really just wanted to get to know me more. Many of my questions ended up being personality like questions. Make sure you know what you wrote about yourself and what part of your background led you to be the person you are today. I also go many questions on why I chose Colorado specifically. I am OOS, so this may be more for OOS students.

Just got rejected 🙁 IS, thought I had a pretty decent shot! So disappointed. Good luck to everyone going forward!

Does anyone on the waitlist know if they are going to prioritize their waitlist like they did last year?

Probably, they really aren't very strict about the naming as long as you've got a good background in the sciences. Definitely, I didn't take a single writing course in college, just classes designated as writing intensive. All I had to do was provide a syllabus that showed it was designated that way and they checked it off.

JUST ACCEPTED! Got the call from Dr. Z at 3pm Mountain time. First acceptance and I am so relieved! Interviewed 11/17. Good luck everyone still waiting!
accepted interviewed 11/17.

Also received the call yesterday around 3 pm MST! 11/17 interview date.

Can't wait to meet you two again!

Does anyone know when post interview rejections go out? I've not heard either way yet. Interviewed on Nov 17.

Thanks,

New tracker is out.

There is no overacceptance, but there is a good amount of waitlist movement on a typical year. Class size is 184

I think what he means is this: most schools will end up accepting anywhere from 1.5x to 3x the number of available seats in total. He's curious how many total acceptances Colorado gives.

The answer for one year is 316 for 180 seats from one source I've seen. The accuracy of that source is questioned.

Thank you!

Interviewing in a couple of weeks and was looking to get some insight on logistics. Flying into DIA the day before and will arrive around 2 pm. What's the best way to get from DIA to my student host's place (not assigned yet, but do they usually live right near campus?). I really want to explore downtown Denver, should I go from DIA to downtown first and then find a way to campus afterwards? Just wondering what's the best way of going about this and if anybody has had to rent a car or anything. Thanks!

I could be wrong because I'm very bad at directions, but I believe campus is between DIA and downtown Denver, if that impacts your decision at all. I didn't rent a car because uber is very easy to get in the area. I think in terms of going downtown first, it all depends on whether or not you want to explore the city right after you land!
