Has anyone applied for student housing and gotten a reply? I filled out the online form, but have not received any information. My interview is in 8 days...should I book a hotel or wait a couple more days to hear back from the school?

Hello all!

I've been creeping on this thread for a very long time now, but I finally decided to make an account and post. I'm OOS. I submitted my primary as MSTP and received 2nd on July 11th. I was rejected on 8/9 from MSTP and was told (I called to see if it the rejection was for MSTP only or for both programs) that the rejection was for both programs. 1 month later, they sent me an interview invite. I interviewed on 9/22 for MD only. Unfortunately, I haven't heard back since. The stress is real.

Based off this post and the accidental MSTP rejections it sounds like there has been a bit of a breakdown in communication between the MD and MSTP adcoms! Wishing you luck!

If you use various travel websites, hotels.com for example, you can book a room without being charged and free cancellation up to the night before. Pretty good way to go when waiting on hosts. Also, if you have lots of travelling to do, every 10th night is free

Wow, thank you so much!! I did not know about this. Incredibly kind of you to let me know!

When you select a room it'll have (in green) the specifics. Some offer free cancellation+pay when you arrive, some don't. So just make sure you're selecting the right option. good luck.

Awesome, I appreciate it!!

Just wanted to chime in on the portal updates fiasco here  Applied MSTP early September, haven't heard anything since. Just checked my portal after reading all the news here (sorry to everyone with bad news here, I hope you all get into your favorite programs! Got my first R from elsewhere this week, I know it stings). Last update was last week and it says "Your application is currently under review for the University of Colorado School of Medicine Medical Science Training Program."

So does anyone know when we might hear back from interviews September-October?

Complete 7/19 OOS LM 70 silence so far but praying for some love.

Anyone that's interviewed so far apply for the Urban Underserved track?

Interviewing in the near-ish future and was wondering if anyone had any tips. Not necessarily about the interview itself, but more general things. Examples: How bad was traffic on I-25 getting to campus? How much student interaction is there during the day?

Also, it looks like it's a little unpredictable for hearing back post-interview. Does the admissions team give a broad range of when to expect a response? I imagine mine will be pretty delayed due to Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas, etc.

At my interview day, they declined to offer any sort of timeline as to when we might hear back. I-70 and I-25 are quite the nightmare, even early in the morning. I live about 30 minutes away from campus without traffic but on my interview day it took me about 75 minutes to get down there. Leave yourself plenty of time in the morning. There was a lot of student interaction throughout the day and many folks were interviewed by a student. My advice would be to try and stay relaxed, especially during the interview. I think they really want to get to know who you are outside of your app.

Friend of mine interviewed late September, early October (can’t recall which) and she received an acceptance last week. Not sure of her stats but she is a minority, very intelligent, in-state, and obviously female

Do you know what day they called? I'd like to know so that I can pick a day of the week to get overly excited about. 🙂

Does anyone know if they have created an accepted student Facebook page?

For those who interviewed 10/20 and are waiting for news, do you know any of your friends who interviewed that day (10/20) and got accepted?

Interviewed early October and haven't heard back. From the lack of Oct acceptances, it seems like there was a delay or something. Hoping to hear soon!

II! They offered a mid-December date. I am excited!

I know this may be a strange topic, but it does affect medical education so here goes: I heard from a prior year's applicant that they believe the University of Colorado School of Medicine does not have students do their own cadaver dissection. Does anyone know how true this is? Based on what I see online (Human Body | School of Medicine | University of Colorado Denver) the person I spoke with seemed misinformed. I would appreciate any clarification though. All of the medical schools that I have interviewed at so far have made a point to highlight the fact that they do cadaver dissections. Those schools claim that some medical schools do not. TIA!

At my interview, they stressed that students definitely do dissections. I know people who have gone there, and it seems like it's usually in groups of 4 or so.

I have several close friends who are M1s at CU and they DEFINITELY did dissections.

For those who have IIs, have your portals updated yet?

For me, the portal never updated! They sent a separate link to confirm my interview date, but the rest of the interview information can be found online under "Interview Day Information". The adcom sends you an email closer to the day of the interview as well.

It doesn't update. Approximately 1 week after my interview, I had a status update that said something along the lines of "thank you for interviewing with the university of Colorado school of medicine"

Has anyone been successful getting feedback on their application? I found out a few weeks ago that I did not receive an II here this year after HPWL placement last year, and making what I thought were significant improvements to my application. I know they don't usually give feedback, but I'm at a loss

On their website, they mention that people that are interviewed but not accepted may be invited to a session on how to improve their application. Since you were HPWL, I might call and inquire about this. You might be able to use it as a launching point to get connected with someone from CUSOM that could provide feedback. To answer you're the original question, I have not directly heard of anyone receiving feedback but it can't imagine it would hurt to call.

Anybody hear back post interview recently??

Just got rejected today. OOS LM 70ish

*oh and no portal change
